Hi, looking for some stats for GT7 Daily Races like Kudos etc. did for GTS... are there any available yet?

Yes, I'm only a B driver.. and a lot of people do it, even if they're not remotely able to overtake cleanly, I think they hope that the person in front will make mistakes as a result.


Since I'm German, I know this kind of thing very well from our autobahns :D.. Over time you get a feeling for who's doing it because he's really fast and who's just a stupid assistant.
Back then in my BMW I was always happy to see guys like that.. you couldn't tell what he had under the hood and when the road was clear I was happy to play a little game... now with the new car and lots of it Years later I've calmed down :D (ok there are fewer who provoke it from behind)

Yes, I experienced this too. I guess it is to establish some kind of pressure or doing mind games. Better than bumping into my rear, so does not bother me at all.

I often use my hazard lights to say thanks if I can pass cleanly

Unfortunately not, the method those sites used to get the data (such as that, your specific DR, etc.) isn't available in GT7 - so as of right now there's no way to see any of it.

I’ve done a couple of Race Cs, the grip seems about right to me. You always need to be mindful of the camber and elevation at this track

The two races I did had Peugeots, Astons and AMGs at the front. The RCZ seems quick, but it’s not dominant.

The puegot seems to do a good hot lap but may not be the best for all 13 without the proper strategy

Oh yes, I also like to say thank you with the hazard lights if it was a fair change of placement.




I have the feeling that some drivers don't change their tires at the stop to save a few seconds. I also tried it with the Supra and although they only showed a little red, the grip was significantly worse.
The tires on the TOM's can easily keep up with 6-7 laps and can still achieve very good times, for me even faster than my previous best qualifying time.

Sure, emergency vehicles do it as well, but doing it among equal racers in a single class race is just arrogant. I struggle to find any reason at all to ever flash someone.

Yes, they can be quite handy. If I've served a penalty or am coming back on track after a spin or hit I'll pop the hazards on as a note to the cars coming up that I'm not up to speed, and I won't defend the position / it is safe to pass

But then can't you just do a poor qualification time, begin near last or last and then try to finish ahead of most people in the race ?

It only matters where you finish. If you begin near last and finish 5th, same points as starting first and finishing 5th.

You give DR to those that are in front of you in the finish results.
You get DR from those that are behind you in the finish results.

The shorter the race the bigger the influence of a good qualifying time is. In a long race consistent race pace will evenually determine the order. In a sprint race, qualify high, take advantage of the head start, keep people behind you, earn DR.

But it is easier to start last, since you can't get punted in T1! However you're still more behind than T1 getting punted off and joining back in mid pack.

I'll try karts today. A did a brief test driving one and jeez they are still so twitchy. Very stable as long as you don't touch the brakes, but very sensitive to steering input. I guess setting the sensitivity to minimum would help for these.

The hazard lights where im from here in new england are almost fighting words it means i just passed your ass u slow mutha****** lmao

Tried race B, saw an Atenza fest so tried to be different and ran the WRX and the Supra. Supra was 2 full seconds a lap slower than the WRX, like what??? Not being able to adjust BB is such a pain.

Not having all the race tyres available is such a kick in the gonads. Obviously you blow a lot of cash that way but also the need to exit then go into the tuning screen, add the tyres, exit back out then go tot he race is such a chore on a PS4.

They have really managed to aggravate every aspect of the UI in GT7, it is so clunky. Buying a new car, adding a livery (applying someone elses) and adding the right tyres is painful, you blow half an hr just getting a car ready, what a joke.
 
it's pretty common in higher lobbies for people to flash their lights before they go for an overtake, I never feel disrespected by it unless they are obviously being intentionally irritating. It's particularly useful if you've been following in somebody's slipstream for awhile and choosing to not go for the move, then when you're finally ready to overtake, a little flash of the lights will signal your intentions. This isn't mandatory, and obviously there are situations where you might not want to let your intentions be so clearly known, but it's a useful tool when the conditions are right.

I "go for an overtake" all the time everywhere, but i very rarely go through with it since it's rarely safe. I don't flash, commit and then just dive bomb, whining with an entitled tone if there's a crash "but - I flashed you!". (Not saying that you're like that.)

IRL I flash when overtaking in risky situations and want to make the driver ahead of me aware that I'm doing something. Especially when overtaking several cars at once with motorcycle (don't want someone to be overtaking at the same time, pushing me out). But in racing, it's common practice to overtake whenever you get the chance to do it safely - that's the standard driving and not needed of flashing.

Maybe I'm totally wrong. Maybe it's a cultural thing. In GTS/GT7 at A/A+ in Europe, I never get flashed nor flash others. Hazards are used for saying "I'm sorry" and preferably returning the position that you've wrongfully acquired.

Stay behind and wait for mistakes. People do them all the time - what's the rush? Online racing is not that Gran Turismo single player ******** where you have to pass a car every 10 seconds.

That's a useful way. The common way in the lower lobbies is flash all the time, to see if you can distract the one ahead so he runs wide or steer wring
 
I only flash guys well out of sequence. So I start on mediums, I pit, i come out on sticky softs, guy in front is on used rubber, i will quickly let him know I am there as he may not even realise and I will be seconds a lap faster in that scenario.

I assume that eventually, some hacker will figure out how to do it. There are probably a lot of people out there who are smarter than GT's engineers. :D

4 wins in 6 or 7 races on B this afternoon, lots of clean(ish) racing at the front of C/B.

Upgraded to B/B and back in the middle of the grid where its a complete **** show all over again - bumper cars and people abusing whatever penalty system is active in B to nudge through.

These blokes all set pretty fast qualifying laps then they drive like 6 year olds, lol.
 
I'm liking A and B, finally some podiums last night.

Race A is way more fun than I would've expected. But I made the mistake of racing 2 races (lots of qualy laps in between) and then jumping into the B race with less than 2 minutes to spare.

Lets just say doing 30+ laps in the cart and then trying to drive a group 4 car is not a good idea lol. Started 5th and finished dead last hahaha. I was so bad I was convinced that my controller was broken....

That kart race is super fun. Probably better to be played on a secondary account if you care about your DR/SR 😂

First lap was mayhem on my race but I managed to avoid all the contact just about. But once everything settled down I found the race boring. I wasn’t able to catch the kart infront nor was the kart behind able to catch. We just went round in a processio.

I planned on spending the majority of my time of Race C this week. However, yesterday I started my racing session testing out the karts to see how they compared to GT Sport. Although still super twitchy, I didn't find them as difficult to drive as in GT Sport. I found it super helpful to turn down the torque on my wheel. Needless to say, I had so much fun racing the karts that I never raced any of the other dailies. Going back for more today if I have time.

This did kill my DR a bit though, I knew going in that it would. I went from A+ to A, but I decided I'm not going to care about my DR (at least for now) with the matchmaking the way it is. I do have an alt but I don't care enough about DR right now to use it.

Just realised that headlightflashing is on L3 and i do it all the time without knowing when i press left/right a bit too intense. Bad decission to have it there, i will change that. Thanks to bringing it up.

Yup I had to change the button assignment. I'd occasionally do it by accident on the PS4, but on the PS5 pad it's slightly different and does it constantly when turning, I didn't realise how much worse until I was running in the dark. I'd guess most of the light flashing people are complaining about, the person won't realise they're doing it anytime they use the left stick.

I had a couple of these races as well, but the majority, at least for me, have been super close races. Four of us finished within one second of the winner yesterday in one race.

I should have mentioned in my post above that I also find this race hysterical! The first lap is definitely choas! Karts going full speed to instantly veering off (full speed) at a 90 degree angle is also common. The replays with the karts is really cool too, especially the music replay.
 
Kart races for me have been meh. Only one braking zone seems to lead to a pretty settled race tbh. Might be different if you're starting lower down the pack I guess.
