You’re right, I probably could have moved over and that’s probably what I will start doing now. Just seems crazy to me that something like this is possible and I get the penalty for it. I’ve seen so many penalty cars get ghosted all the way to the hairpin

Just depends on the amount of time applied. Frustrating in the moment for sure but you're better off losing a position here and getting the inside on the hairpin than popping back into the game and getting punted off by someone closing behind, potentially wrecking both your races.
 
Ok back from my very nice and warm holiday in Florida and I decided after many years to try playing against people again.

I don't have a headset while gaming I have a PS branded chair with speakers in the chair so I am not speaking online.

I was playing the daily A race this week in Suzuka and I have managed to get my driver rating to D and sportmanship to A.

I don't understand a couple of things, I was in 6th place, I was pushed by somebody who side swiped me but after some fish taling and wobbles I kept my position but no longer able to get near the cars in front of me.

I finished the race 6th (clean race) and yet at the end I got a screen saying +3 places yet still showing me in at 6th.

Can anybody explain what that meant or what the +3 places meant as I have no idea.

It means you gained 3 places from your starting position. So if you started 9th and finished 6th.

It has nothing to do with any penalties, contact or race incidents.
 
Ok thanks for that, bit odd that it's not coming up all the time as I always seem to get ahead a few places in a race.

But now I know what it means thanks.

Well. For the first time in years I am again C/S. Must have been slower than usual.
But I got Pole in my first race in the McLaren, had a Porsche as P2 and we had a good fight for 1½lap, then he spun himself at the hairpin after the tunnel and quit. The rest was a clear run to flag.

Heavy fuel saving with mostly fuel mix 6, I've read some stating this.

I did it with the Lexus, alernating between FM2 and FM3, drafting cars, shift before the rev bar shows, coast into corners, stay in higher gears. It's pretty boring, going almost 4 sec per lap slower. But still faster overall than the long pit stop.

I’ve been routinely winning at Spa in the Mazda. FM3, shift halfway.

The reason I asked is because it didn't have the FM option when cycling through the MFD. I cycled through multiple times and it didn't come up so I assumed it wasnt an option. I was driving the 911 RSR at the time. Everybody pitted except the first three finishing RCZs so I assumed there was some sort of fuel consumption glitch or cheat.

So I entered another race, this time with the RCZ, but still didn't have the FM option in the MFD once the race started. My fuel consumption was still way too high to complete the full 8 laps without a stop so I quit nd asked the question here.

I try again tonight and see if I can replicate the issue.

Are you sure there's no fuel map option? It's the one with the green sliding scale. We've never had that as a real issue before that I can remember. If cam grab footage of it not appearing it would be good to have.

Race C grid size is back to 20.

Meh. Tokyo as long as it doesn’t rain is fun but on gr4 might be too slow.

Edit: mechanical damage is on 🔥

Why am I not surprised that you are so excited about race C? Your time is abnormal there... You cheater ;P!

That sounds a lot like the 2nd Atenza race this week... I guess I'll do something different then.

Catalunya king mate. I like the track despite the CE frustration. But GR4 I’ve never got on with on sport as FF dominated and now in 7 it’s just the Atenza. I like cars with a bit of play in them. I’ll give both a go this afternoon after work before writing them off completely but on paper it doesn’t look appealing.
 
May aswell call Race C the Atenza Cup. Tried using the F-Type Gr.4 which is completly obsolete in both Race B & C funny as the F-Type GR.3 is one of my favourites cars

Still waiting for some variety in the daily races, like a KTM X-Bow or SF19 race

The Renault Megane cup was a great car in the twisty corners, worked well in Kyoto Driving Park for the Manu Cup, but anything with half a straight kills its competitiveness.
