Finally got some racing in last night. Had a lot of fun but with mixed results. Completely predictable, though, as it just comes down to whether you get taken out or not. 😁

I would like to get one major complaint out of the way first, though....the green fuzzy šŸ’© they use around Spa was obviously crafted by Satan himself. Sand/Gravel stops the mayhem right there and now. Kerbs/rough-paved surfaces allow the calamity to ease and folks can re-gather/get back on line. THIS STUFF? Nope, it's more akin to a slow drip of lemon juice in an open wound. I don't know why I even try to fight it most times...

Ok, now that's outta the way...GREAT RACING! Even when I got booted, turned-around and put almost 20 secs behind P15, I was still having fun. Did make it back into the fray on that one and picked-up a couple to not DFL it, so that was cool. Had two races where I finished outside of top 10, and four where I was P5 or better. Still in low-mid A/S lobbies.

Quick question for everyone...did any of you lose liveries you had imported from Sport? My Jag went back to the default livery and the ones I had imported from Sport are no longer available. Assuming it was a glitch but wanted to ask.

I'm really enjoying all the posts about Race B this week. A lot of relatable content here!

After slogging my GT Movie Nismo around Spa for many laps trying to best my quali of 2.20.1xx, in one session I finally clicked and chopped a whole 4 tenths off my best time to settle on 19.7xx (a time I didn't think was possible for me).

This has brought my DR back from the brink of falling into B and back up to A, roughly the point between the D and the R on the graphic. This is my happy place. I've had some really, really good racing
Even though my best placement has been 5th, the people in front have mostly been A+ drivers and they are often more than 10 seconds ahead.

I have a curious observation about lobby composition... So, this one race where I was up against a couple of really fast guys at the front of the grid, posting qualis in the 17s, I knew they were high up the rankings so after the race I took the liberty of seeing just how high. Bear in mind my quali has me between 1,800th and 2,250th... Q1 was 9th in the world, Q2 was 90th, and Q3 was in the 500s. That's quite a spread. I don't know what it means or if it's of any relevance, but there it is.

Can someone with an A+ DR rating do me a favor?

I need a screenshot of your Profile screen, like this, showing your Driver Rating.

Take screenshot on your PS, move it to your computer and zip it, and post it here or send me a private message. Don't manipulate it in any way, don't shrink it, just zip it up and post the zip file. Thanks!

(I'm working on a bug in GranTracker, and I want to make sure I don't break it for A+ drivers. Which I will never be, so I can't use my own screenshot for testing. And yes, I could edit my screenshot, but I want a pristine screenshot to make sure my OCR works correctly.)

Go to the top qualifying lists, and just copy profile page from one of those guys.

Had some time off today so carried on grinding, made my way up to Rating B now, safety rating S, even in B rating I'm being punted off track left, right and centre. Switched the console of now, seems almost impossible to come across clean racers. Managed to win 8/9 but got smacked into the barriers on lap 4 of 5, ended up finishing 3rd for that one, no penalty for the offending party.

Probably just switch back to PC now and continie with ACC and iRacing, unless I get lucky and come into clean lobbies. As soon as I see a safety rating below A I expect the worst. Took me like 2 days to get to S. Do we lose rating if we leave lobbies before the race even starts? I would rather not race with people that have C safety ratings, didn't even know that was possible when they have driver rating B.

Ah, I feel like I haven't done a Daily Race in a long time at this point, but now that I think about it, I have some reasons:

-The online time trials pay better, especially since every single one I've entered either nets me a gold or silver.
-I don't feel a need to increase my DR/SR, as I feel content racing in the GT2 class for championships.
-Even if I'm not in the mood to do some laps for an online time trial, there are still plenty of events within World Circuits I could tackle.

Still, this week's Daily Race A seems like it really could be fun. Just gotta renew my PS+ membership first...

We often comment here about how to improve and to review the QT times of people faster than you. I find it odd that the 911RSR is not in the top 100 fastest times for daily B this week and in fact appears to be 2 seconds off the top pace but I've been doing well with it at my level. I feel like I am reaching the limits of my capabilities with the car though but I am still 1.9s slower than the fastest 911 time posted to showcase, so I pulled it down and did a comparison.

Some parts I am so close to being identical in performance and in other spots, odd hundredth of a second here and there add up. I notice that there are two distinct areas where I am losing time.

Turn 8 --> 9

Entering Bruxelles I am very close to the target but coming out they get on power ahead of me and manage to carry that through Speakers adding up to a 4-5mph increase in speed over me. My take away is that I need to learn the point earlier where I can be more aggressive with power delivery.

Turn 14 --> 15

I know I messed this one up. I turn in too soon for Campus so my apex is wrong and too shallow so I have to maintain coasting through the turn, and even then I get on the green stuff, so I lose a ton of speed entering the critical Stavelot. I need to brake more in a straight line and turn in later and then get on the gas just before a later apex.

I'm reasonably happy with the rest of my performance. I may lose a few tenths over the circuit but if I can get the first two corrected I think that will serve me up well.

The bus stop at the end is also interesting. I actually carry higher speed in the first turn and to the second but then I lost time from the last turn to the line. I think my entry speed was spot on, but I need to tighten the left turn earlier so I can get on gas a little sooner. That means that I may need to be coasting more, even giving a dab of brake between turns 18 and 19. A classic case of slower in but faster out.

I've seen very clean races and rough/dirty races in DR B. Videos I've seen of DR A and DR A+ races makes me think that those are no better.

If you have entered a lobby and and the count down is at 0 but the race has not started yet, if you leave you will be hit with a DNF for your DR rating and a hit to your SR rating.

I got drowsy some while I was doing a race at Spa, and ran off the curb. So annoying, I finished 14th because of this, I spend at least 8-9 hours at a time on gt7. Can be exhausting at times trying to outsmart the opponents/aliens.

Love it when the 911RSR wins and everyone else is driving the metas (Supras/GT-Rs).
So far, I've only been able top win with the NSX and the McLaren (2 each so far this week), although I set my pole time with the Lambo. I seem to end up in more difficult rooms when I take the Lambo

I usually drive the M6 in Gr. 3 races but decided to give my 911 a chance because I wanted to test a software I'm developing a whirl with a different vehicle. Guess I'm going to be using it for the rest of the week. :D

Which cars have you all tried? I'm really finding the Huracan to be good for me. I'll hit 256 KMH on the straight with no draft, not quite as fast as the top dogs, but I love the balance of it with TCS 1.
I'm using the NSX, Huracan, and McLaren. They all turn in nicely so you can maintain corner speed. I saw there was an RCZ in the top times, but, although it's my favourite car, I can't get it to turn at all.

Just the GT-R, R.S 01 (or whatever it is) and the 911. I'm not good in the Huracan as I've tried it else where and it was a handful for me. I haven't tried the NSX yet and I do like the McLaren, but I also have not tried it yet.

Don't give up on the 911RSR. At our level it is certainly competitive. You're currently 0.8s behind me and I know I can go another .4 in this car. There may be better cars for A/A+ ranked drivers but for B it is dependable.
I really like the 911, but I couldn't get any pace out of it. I can usually keep up with the A rank drivers, but just not this week.

I hear you. It's been hit or miss for me, but the feeling of being stuck in the mud is something I experienced also. Mostly it's just that if you don't come out of certain corners, like T1, quickly enough, there's a lot of track for people to get all up in your backside.
I can usually hit my lines and apexes, but this week I couldn't do any of that. It's just an off week for me in regards to racing.

Well, I've hit a point where my 2:19.8 Race B qualifier is giving me bottom 5 starts. I've managed to keep it clean and get to P8 and P6 finishes with those low grid positions, but it's tough!

Have you had any victories lately, I've only got 2 out of a mere 426 races. That is bad, and 150 of them I have finished in the top 5 or better (up to 2nd place).
I had one win with the 911 on Monday but since then it has been mostly top 4 finishes. For me that is excellent. Out of 336 races I've only had 7 victories. I've had 116 top 5s.

It's good for DR B. I think for DR A it may be outclassed.

Another car that might be a bit of a sleeper is the Alfa 4C Gr3. I noticed one of these on the top 10 leader board and figured I'd try it. I always liked how it drove but on many circuits it is not that fast. At Spa it can hit 161mph on Kemmel, though as you do it will bounce off the rev limiter and immediately drop to 157 so you have to time your shift just before 161 so it maintains 160 in 6th. If you shift too soon in at 160, it'll drop to 159 before picking back up again.

Currently I am not as fast overall as the 911 but I am only a few tenths off. I believe the car is quicker on the straights but I have not pushed it too hard in the corners yet.

I'll be interested in other's take on the 4c.

The 4C is a great FP car there, high corner speed etc. But in traffic it suffers, it's impossible to maintain the high corner speeds, and if slowed down it's slower to accelerate than the big FR cars

Okay, that makes sense then as to whyI have not seen it in races.
