GT Sport had a few rare Gr1 Daily Race C's in rotation - obviously not a full on enduro distance but at least 10-12 laps with pit strategy required.

The best thing to do to get that fix of longer distance races is join a weekly league which regularly races longer distance races.

Gr2 cars have finally got a few new additions to the category since GT Sport ... the GTR500 Motul you mention was by far and away the quickest online but that may not be the case this time round (hopefully more cars are viable!)

Yeah I don’t expect they to be an endurance daily race. Too long a race and people won’t join. Might have to find a league join.
Never had or played GTS, but that GTR500 was great. For the little bit i did it felt fast.
I’m not sure what Gr2 I’ll buy yet. Ill just pick which ever I think is best and the one I want to drive. I like the challenge of trying to beat people who drive that Peugeot thing (RCZ is it?) or the Atenza.

Well the penalty system is something isn't it?
Just got penalized every time I grazed the wall (Daily B) but this other guy seemed to be immune to penalties.
We both hit the exact same wall in exactly the same way, and I get penalized but he doesn't.
Anyone else have this problem? I don't check this forum so I don't know if it's a common thing or not.

Edit: Okay, turns out I wasn't wrong. Getting a 1.5 second penalty for driving fairly and slightly grazing the wall begs for a fix.

Almost got 2nd in daily race B after a few attempts, and what does my wheel decide to do last lap? It disconnects, for no apparent reason. I was able to secure a 5th by switching to controller, would've been a third if I hadn't racked up wall penalties while I was desperately trying to reconnect my controller.
This is the second time this has happened with my T150 Pro, last time was a year or two ago during the FGT championship in GT5.. kind of ruined the whole GP, still haven't recovered from it lol. Haven't even touched the game since.

The back of my PS5 is awfully hot now the race is over though. Could the disconnects be due to overheating? Both now and the situation with GT5 happened after playing the games for longer than I usually do.
Wheel still won't connect.. last time I fixed it by waiting overnight.

Should I get a new wheel? I've never heard anyone else have their wheel overheat, and it's not like I've been playing all day. God forbid I ever do one of the upcoming 24 hour endurances.. :)

Been focusing on Race C this week as I'm not a fan of Sport Mode races on Tokyo. Using the GR Supra Gr4 to try and combat all the Atenza's mainly because I don't own an Atenza, also thought it would be a bit of a challenge to not use the meta car.

My best qualy lap generally puts me between 6th and 8th or towards the back of the competitive qualy times.

I've found that I'm unable to attack the Atenza's, even keeping up with them is quite a struggle. The acceleration and top speed they have is way too strong, and the Supra isn't able to make up the difference through the corners or on the brakes. Most of the overtaking opportunities are after a long straight at Catalunya which allows the Atenza's to build a gap large enough to cover a move that isn't a divebomb. Even trying to follow, the Atenza's are able to pull away despite me being in their slipstream, such is the power of the Atenza.

Following other cars that are following the Atenza (WRX and Megane TC mainly) allows me to stick with the lead pack for a while, likely because the slipstream actually provides some sort of benefit against these cars.

Most of my battles have been defensive, but I've been quite impressed with my own defensive driving, being able to hold Atenza's off for 2-3 laps which is much longer than I would have expected considering the straight line advantage they have. Some of the best battles have been with drivers who started from the back or had an incident early in the race and are trying to move back through the field. These drivers have a significant pace advantage over me, so it was quite difficult trying to keep them behind but also quite fun as the racing tends to be pretty fair.

There are some drivers who have been less than courteous. I had one WRX driver stick his nose into my right rear panel on the final corner of the final lap, which upset my car enough to allow him to force his way further up the inside, then proceeded to push me wide and onto the gravel, costing me 3 positions. Of course he didn't receive a penalty for this. Another instance where the driver I was trying to pass moved twice in the braking zone, to avoid rear ending them I had to dart further inside but misjudged and put a rear wheel on the grass, causing me to slide through the braking zone and miss the corner (although I did achieve my goal of not hitting them). I've also had a few cases of rear ending the driver in front after they hit the brakes a bit early trying to perform a cutback or missing their braking marker. If I gain a position as a result of this I'll let the driver back through to show it wasn't intentional, but the collision normally results in a 3-4 second penalty which stings considering I wasn't intentionally trying to ram them off.

My best finish so far has been a P3, but these podium finishes have been few and far between when everyone is using the Atenza.

On Monday, I had posted a qualifying time in Daily Race A. Two days and an update later, my qualifying time was gone. This was a total shame for me to see that happening and that was the most disappointing thing that had happened to me in daily races.

If it’s connected to the rear PS5 USB port maybe the heat is causing an issue and could try the front one?

It's almost certainly due to the thermostat sensing excessive temperatures due to the motor getting too hot or a faulty thermostat.

Some have overcome the issue by simply removing the top cover to allow more heat to escape the case or by upgrading the internal fan. Reducing the FFB strength also reduces the load on the wheel and subsequently the amount of heat. Some still have the issue despite these measures and the motor only reaching luke warm temperatures - probably due to a faulty thermostat. You can actually unplug the thermostat from the main board, but that obviously poses additional risk as it removes the protection cut-off.

Should I get a new wheel?

Yes.

Just not a Thrustmaster. Woefully under-engineered and poor QC across the board.

Race B is a wonderful DR and SR farm, I am loving it. You just need to stay focused and not get any penalities and you will pass people as they get penalised. I have been able to get my S back for SR and my DR appears to be rising from B to A as I am starting to get matched with A's.

Race with patience and focus and you will reap the rewards.

Same. I had two wins this morning. On the first I won the race from 3rd position. I just stayed close and hoped for a tussle. For some insane reason, 2nd place hit a wall trying to overtake 1st on the last corner of the race, even though 1st had a 1.5 second penalty in place. I couldn't believe it.

The race is extremely intense and focus is required at all times. This one is all about flow and not making a mistake.

I've been using my McLaren 650S. I prefer the looks over the Atenza.

Something is going on with the cars at race A.
I noticed when watching Doodle's lap replay, that he was smoking the hell out of his left front tire when accelerating through the third turn at Fuji. Wondering how that happens in an all-wheel drive car.

Also, I'm seeing it in races now from the fastest drivers. I've done 150 laps there now, between qualifying and racing and only get tires smoke when decelerating and hard down-shifting. Can't do it under acceleration.
It's supposed to be BoP, with no tuning.
Something is up, though.
They've figured out something.

Probably just super aggressive lock on the wheel, I haven't been able to do it on a controller but there is dampening on a pad not present with a wheel, could just be full lock, floor it, power on understeer.

That's if they're using a wheel of course.

Whilst on the subject of Race A, I'm glad they wiped the boards, I used the exploit to put me in positions relative to my ability vs everyone else using it, now it's gone, nothing changed for me, I can put in my normal lap and still be in the relative positions. For me this race has been a DR booster, stay clean through turns 1-4 on lap 1 and hit your brake markers, in B races at least, there's always a good chunk of penalty action, lapping consistent 2:06-2:07 will see you in the top 3 more often than not (in B, B/A races at least).

1.5 second is standard for hitting a wall. You can lightly graze it if you are lucky. Maybe that is what the protagonist did

I guess that's it.
I messaged Doodle, who's at #3 currently.
In the replay, I see that he smokes the hell out of his left front tire under acceleration at turn 3.
I asked him what's going on there. He said he's just over powering, and understeering.
I've already done hundreds of laps there, this week, and it can't be done with my controller.

So, clearly there's some kind of steering difference in GT7 between wheels and controllers.
Apparently, controllers can't turn the front tires quite as sharply as wheels can.

I think I've uncovered something. :odd:

There’s been a lot of talk on here about auto countersteer on a controller even when you switch it off. Could be that kicking in to stop the understeer?

Some people are cheating on Race B. Some have found out that you can run against the wall and not pick up a penalty and still post the fastest lap. Watch the top 3 time in the world top 10. They basically start riding the wall before the corner avoiding the penalty

I love this game (always have). Am I crazy? 🤣
Dumb question here tho seriously...

a .) why in group C races do I have to pit and others do not?

Even though I'm not running TC I'm not killing it. I mean it's mainly the Citroen GT if you know what I mean. I understand TC can be factor but I can't believe all the other try hards running 4wd Antenzas are running TC too, right? I never see them stop.

Which brings me to the next issue.....

b.) Why on earth does it take so long to refuel once in the pits? I mean you push no tire change then boom...you wait forever it seems 😂.

Help? 😭
Partially car dependant, some cars can run flat out, fuel mix 1 and not need to pit like the Suzuki Swift. Others will need a little bit of fuel management, short shifting etc so just do a little bit of management and you should make it without a stop.

There’s undefeatable counter steer assist in the pad.

Short shifting makes a massive difference and running fuel mix 2 when you can will help as well. Also different cars are very different on fuel. The Mazda is decent but needs a bit of fuel saving, apparently the Swift can run full beans the whole race. This is definitely a no stop race though so you’re doing something wrong if you have to stop.

I always used the lexus which was easier to manage and bit better fuel conservation.

Well got a nice win on in the GTWS manufacturers cup yesterday at Monza 16 laps, any tire choice, 3x tire wear 1 x fuel burn.

first race went Racing softs, set a time which put me 5th or 6th can't remember, but the softs plus high fuel made the car (Jaguar F-Type GR.3) undrivable I assume 3x tire wear means 1lap is the equivilent of 3 anyway by about lap 8 was dropping like a stone so swapped for racing hards which where way more drivable.

Second race went softs for the qaulifying and hards for the race setting 1:51s for the majority of laps was able to take P1 from faster drivers who ran on the softs but had to pit.

Had my first penalty that I just could not work out.

Overtaking in the S2 tunnel on Race B and I’m in the right hand lane heading to the exit. I brake to make the corner and opponent turns in and clips me.

Game must have interpreted me as blocking. Hmmm. Was very harsh as I was easily faster and would have won.

I noticed that when I was using a controller ( all assist off besides abs) that it looked like each corner had a different maximum steering lock. I think? Pay close attention to the red dot above the rev light. Idk.

I haven't watched his replay, but did you see what type of wheels he's using on the car?

I've noticed that drivers with larger diameter wheels and body kits seem to smoke the tires more.
I put some big chunky 5-spokes on mine but kept it at 16", and they don't smoke.
The stock wheels don't smoke at all as far as I can tell.
Also, before the patch I was having some left-front wear (maybe 5% max) but now I'm not seeing any indicated.
Also also, a lot of people get caught out when the track goes cloudy... kinda neat how it gets a little slick.

And then there's the same childish behavior that was prevalent last week in the Toyotas :
"I've got the wing and bodykit and roll cage!!! Why can't I beat you?"
"I've got the license plate from the comic book!!! Why can't I beat you?"
"My car looks like the Shigeno!!! Why can't I beat you?"
"I painted my car Ukrainian colors!!! I can't pass you! Are you pro-Putin?"

Anyway, I am dominating Daily A.
(Re-)Qualified with a 1:05.46x (I think) which starts me top 3 everytime.

5 wins Monday, 5 wins Tuesday, 6 wins Wednesday, and 7 wins yesterday.

Not just surviving, but controlling (i.e. manipulating) the very first turn is key.

The steering lock is tied to speed. Buffers against the miniscule lock-to-lock travel compared to a wheel. You don't need full lock at 200kmh, so the game only gives you part of it.

Hmmmm
I'll give that a try. I'll install the largest wheels available, and see if anything different happens. :)

Update: I installed the tallest/widest wheels available, then did a few Q laps.
I couldn't detect any difference. I think it's just a wheel vs controller thing.

Have they changed the fuel for daily races after the latest update?

3 days ago, I did daily race 3 with the atenza... no stop, finished the race with 2% fuel left..

This morning I ran out second to last lap..

Majorly confused

Could be the wind direction was bad on the main straight
