Le Mans Gr.2 5x fuel and 5x tires. Everyone is using the CLK-LM '98 which you cant currently purchase and I dont own, great job PD. The race schedule is also glitched no race until 11 am for some reason!?! Oh server maintenance...

Seriously now? Howling because you didn't buy a car when you had the chance? My goodness how do you manage to get by in real life?
EVERYONE had the chance to buy the car... YOU didn't.. well then live with it...

BTW I don't have it either.. I have the F1 and hope to get by with it.. if not, then that's it.!

Hopefully the 2016 GTR will be good...I remember having a good week in the GT2 daily race at Circuit De Saint Croissant, or whatever it's called, back around Christmas time in GTS.

Yeah I should have travelled into the future and realised I needed to buy the car for this combo, will just hop in my time machine gg max
The GTR needs to refuel not sure about whether the CLK, but if it can 1 stop the race, it is basically pay to win, but with a car thats impossible to purchase. And as for the server maintenance timing its laughable why not do it at 3am, oh no 9am on Monday sounds perfect lol

Is it actually any good? I did a custom race at Daytona last night and the fuel consumption was terrible compared to the McLaren.

Not sure Max perhaps the race is 1 stop for every car then, I crashed in the only run I had before the maintenance.
But I did spot Tidge in the McLaren. Can't say I have tested the GR.2 cars for fuel as I only have the GTR and McLaren at the mo.

Did 2 races before the server went down. It will definitely be possible to no stop in the GTR but you’ll need to fuel save heavily. It seems the CLK needs to fuel save even with a stop.

You can rent a car if you don't have it
Yep, some solid changes all round, nothing massive but QOL, looking forward to stealing some race time tonight

Yeah I managed to no stop the GTR with a lot of fuel map 3 and above finished 2nd the winner used the CLK and no stopped as well.
You can borrow any GR1 to do this race or any other for that matter now though, seems like a solid change from PD. Try before you buy. Will test the CLK now for fuel and report back soon.

GTR '16 (GT500 Nismo) ?

So just trying to understand this Gr2 race…… I need to buy one of those legendary Le Mans cars that were available the other week?

Hope the Gr4 race isn’t an Atenza fest again. Hoping I can retire that car now. I want to race my McLaren again.

Yep the 16 GTR mate, I used the CLK and got another 2nd with the no stop. Was beaten by a 1 stoppin CLK though so I guess pit lose has been reduced. No need to buy any cars for dailies now can borrow them.

You can rent 8 cars for the Gr.2 event, including the CLK and the McLaren F1.
Basically, you have the choice to drive any eligible car you wish, whether you own it or not.
It's awesome.

As for the GR.4's, it's probably still dominated by the Atenza, although perhaps the physics changes might offer a few more competitive options.
I suspect the Atenza rules because it's the lowest PP car in the class, with everything else needing to be 'de-tuned'. But I'm just guessing.

Also, regarding the GR.4's, I note there are 32 available to rent.
I thought I had them all, but my Garage has 31.
It seems there's 4WD Alpha I've never driven, so I'm keen to give that a go.

They even come with the tyres needed for the race. It’s really awesome

I haven't had a chance to run yet but looking at the boards Le Mans will be a see of silver CLK's rented so they'll all look the same is not going to be fun for post race photos etc 😩

Did they up the payouts for online races yet? GR.2 Le mans, so close, yet so far

With rent a car I don't have to buy any more modern cars at least, 30 pre 2000 left to go to start my own last century custom race line ups. Will try Le Mans later but it's a track for 787Bs and R92CPs!

Yeah I’ve just logged on and seen this about renting cars. I genuinely don’t know if that is a good or bad idea really?
I do like that fact you can rent and test other cars. But then on the other hand, why would I now go and buy another car when I can rent it? Also with renting once people now what the meta car is just gives people a free option to use the meta car if they don’t own it. Everyone probably own the meta cars by now anyway.

I watched the racing etiquette video (not sure if it is mandatory or can be skipped) but it didn’t real offer anything. Was a good idea from PD but think they could have shown some better examples and more clear guidance. At the end they mentioned the penalty line. Just said don’t block anyone. They should have made it clear to pull of the racing line and then rejoin appropriately.
Id like to see weaving on track getting penalties. But just not sure how that could be implemented.

Yeah, just seems silly to do it for all the races. Maybe have a couple of randomised cars available for your use. But otherwise the only reason to run a garage car now would be to use a livery. Maybe it's only here in the early stages of the game.

I’m a bit flummoxed by this video. Basically it’s a “training” video that implores people to play fair. Guess what? The reason you made this video is because people don’t want to play fair in the first place. If you don’t penalize them more severely, the risk-reward will always lean towards taking the penalty to eliminate the car in front of them. Without any sort of discussion about who he right-of-way, whose line is it in key situations, etc., and “etiquette” video is mostly useless.

I’m pretty certain that the people who need to take the message to heart both didn’t watch the video and don’t care to play fair anyway.

I’d much prefer for the rentals to be available for the custom races. Gives me a reason to actually want to do a custom race then.
I only own 4 Gr3 cars as they are the cars I wanted to own and I’m quite tight fisted with credits. I have 9million credits stored and can easily spend them if I want to. Now I don’t need to bother buying another Gr3 car for daily races as I get them for free now.
With Gr2 now available I was going to buy a Gr2 car, but now I dont need to bother. I can just save my credits.

Im not to sure yet on rentals. Need to see how the week pans out with the daily’s.

Yep exactly what I thought. They just gloss over a subject and put a warning out. I’ve noticed some on tracks like Monza last week it was better for you to punt someone off the track into the gravel and take your 4 seconds and carry on.
Haha yep, those who don’t care about etiquettes were the ones who skipped it.
