Took a day off today to get some home-stuff done and finished early so hopped onto the Dailies to see what's there. Did a few laps driving non-meta around the Dragon Trail but soon realized GTR was needed.
Quite comfortable going round the track and I can gain at least 0.5s more time if I try hard enough, but will do some actual races now. Still early in the week, but Top 85 will do for now 😋 😊

Hope the standard of driving in lobbies is not gonna ruin it lol... 🫰🫰 Also found that for some reason, if you do not nail a time within the first 2 laps, it just gets worse and worse in terms of drivability! Maybe it's just me and my frustrations lol but after 2 attempts, I retry
** UPDATE **
Confirmed, racing is awful! Started in P7 and forget worrying about the chicane - it's the lag and horrible, dirty, nasty and unacceptable driving is what will get you! By some miracle, recovered to finish in P10 after dropping to P14 from all the multiple hits hits and lag spikes! Only lap I was not barged into was the lap following the one which practically ended my race (lap 3 or 4) after being punted from the Dragon Trail all the way to the Porcupine Pathway! ⚰️💩💔😭😡
It seems most people are going Hard then Soft. There doesn't seem to be enough benefit to running soft first and trying to build a gap.I dunno man, that soft is VERY different tyre to the hard, gonna cause some drama.
Trust the car, soft's grip is immense.Yeah officially slow at Spa, 19.5 best so far and I tried a few cars. Just have no pace.
Funny you say that, I checked more than once that I had softs on as I just wasn't feeling it! On the dpad I was very good around Spa, usually qualifying within 2.5% of the top time, but with a wheel, not sure what it is but I am very slow. In general i am struggling to know when to stop braking and to allow the car to coast, just not sure where the line is, and I think that is hurting me at Spa.Trust the car, soft's grip is immense.
Did you try the AMG with +5 BB? The Ford GT is also pretty good, same for BB. Nailing Eau Rouge/ Radillion is key of course, but turn 9 and turn 15 will give HUGE swings in time. Screw them up and you can lose almost a second each.Yeah officially slow at Spa, 19.5 best so far and I tried a few cars. Just have no pace.
Came home from work and something didn't sit right, a feeling deep inside. I checked the LB only to find that a less handi-capable friend (lol @newmedia_dev ) had overtaken my time and this was not acceptable! 😂
Came close a couple of times, could have even broken into the 45:4's but, at least for now, the natural order of the world has been restored 😋😂

I slam on the brakes as I approach the curbing on the left side before Les CombHave not tried those yet, no, not much time last night.
I feel I am struggling through Les Comb/Malmedy, feels very slippery compared to a pad, Pouhon doesn't feel good and whilst Fagnes feels OK I don't feel like I can dive in there like I did with a pad. I dunno, just not feeling confident at a track i know backwards.
I am struggling too on a track I am usually good at. For some strange reason I find that over braking is a real problem, I mean locking up and ploughing the corner. I never had this issue before. I have found that a track that comes naturally with a wheel has suddenly become very intense as you are really concentrating on your braking far more than you should. I am only using the T300 rs and I have played around with the springs on the brake pedal but I am not convinced it is something I am doing, I have done 100's of laps around there over the years but I too am finding it hard goingHave not tried those yet, no, not much time last night.

Have you tried the 650S yet?OK after a TERRIBLE time with the Mercedes, like could not drop lower than a 2.22 (I just do not gell with that car at all), I tried the GT40 and right away it felt the business. Ran a 19 flat so trimmed half a second but optimal was an 18.5, about where I feel I need to be. It confirms to me I am struggling with rotation because that car rotates better than most, i finally felt like I was attacking the track not tip-toeing around it.
I really need to work on raising my lowest speed in the corner, I am too slow at the apex. Through Malmedy and Fagnes (the left/rights) are you guys holding a gear and feathering the throttle along with some coasting or attacking then dabbing the brake to rotate?
With joy and support for me? 😂 😋 Thanks! ❤️shakes fist
Yep, no pace. Better than the Merc but no pace. Only car I could get into mid 19's was the Genesis and the Ford GT seems a solid 8 tenths faster. Also so many GR3 cars sound awful, McLaren, GTR, Genesis... BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH.... Ford GT ... good lord, TURN UP THE VOLUME.Have you tried the 650S yet?
To my taste, it feels like the safest option for SPA after the last BOP update.
With the wheel you have to really brake earlier but modulate it. You also have to be really patient or smoother on accelerating.Yep, no pace. Better than the Merc but no pace. Agree on the practice thing. Tried the GTR, 2nd best car for me, forgot about that, but the Ford GT feels SO MUCH better on exit, I can launch our of corners. Tidge I watch every week but simply cannot rotate the car the way he does, I brake before he does and still wash wide.I think it’s just a practice and coordination thing you have to work through. Practice practice practice.
I’d personally recommend the GTR as it’s competitive and less tricky than the other FR cars.
Not being disingenuous but if you are using a wheel or a Controller are you watching @Tidgney Lap guides mate, you can be way faster even just braking way before he does and still make top 1000 times.
I’d work on coming off the brake earlier and “letting” the car turn and grip.Agree on the practice thing. So you went from controller to wheel recently and Spa is giving you trouble?I am struggling too on a track I am usually good at.
