You have 4 days to stare longingly at my time ahead of yours :)

And we will never know if you could have gone faster than me in this weeks combo 🤣

At last update the RCF became meta at Monza (wich eventually kinda did make sense, seing also the pole of the RCF at 6 hrs of Spa last weekend) and they reset the leaderboard. If there's no reset, does it means that the meta is still basically the same? So we'll have the same, but significantly slower? Just wondering why....

Did 2 races and it's pretty obvious that the "not-so-clean" drivers already figured out that with slower cars and more forgiving physics, they can still shove you off track but with much less risk of them spinning out from the contact so it's being exploited to the full! Nice on PD, way to stay true to "The Real Driving Simulator" motto..... 💩⚰️

GT should just dump the whole BoP system. It doesn't work, none of the classes are balanced, there's always a meta. Just restore the power and weight to the real figures and so what if everyone ends up driving the same vehicle, at least the performance would be more realistic.
This isn't a bad take.

If the BoP doesn't work and one or two metas will inevitably emerge each week, why not let it be on the car's individual merits depending on the combo (top speed/acceleration vs handling, tyre wear, fuel economy) with default stats.

By all means they could cook up occasional 'special filters' to provide categories-within-categories, like drivetrain for instance, or special one-off bespoke tuning sheets.

Of course this all depends on PD's agreements with partner brands 💵

I do reckon, based on the kind of neglect the Gr. system gets offline and the direction Sport Mode had at launch (pretty much all pp tuned events) - that after flopping it for GT7 they've probably been working on a much better way to evaluate car performance, dropping BoP in favour of it for the next installment.

Hopefully, anyway.

Hopefully, yes.

I've said not long ago in this forum that I think the next game will be a natural juncture for a Sport Mode revamp.

So far so good with the Lancer, got another win and an excellent 2nd place where 5 of us finished with 3 tenths

Going to try to Nissan tomorrow just to see how that goes, the lancer felt a little heavy in places, not sure what that was about

@newmedia_dev hilarious, maybe AI is learning from the human players 🤣

I've done a few more B races in the 650 and G70. It was just kind of.... dull. If RH tyres have this much grip, RM or RS will just be flat out everywhere.

The races I did were very close, but you can brake later, corner at a similar speed, and mash the throttle with little risk of spinning on most of the corners.

It was lobbies full of fast, clean racers, with nobody attempting a lunge and nobody making any errors. It's also gone back to being mostly GTRs already (in the races I did anyway)

Will see what the next weeks bring..

The road car version of some of them feel more raw and fun to drive than the stripped out race car :/
To be fair, couldn’t you same of many real-world road cars that’ve been modified for formal racing series like GT1 and GT500? Just look at the road-going Aston Martin Valkyrie compared to the AMR-LMH, wherein I hear the latter has less HP than the former.

I did 4 races and clean lobbies, just added (waited) 10m/30ft to my braking markers.

Whilst clean, some people will make the smallest gaps bigger, most are fine to go side by side and sometimes you can defend it some times you can’t, what you can’t defend is the car fully over the grass to “make that space” but I digress.

The acceleration in the GTR has been hit with both the weight and power.

I also think there was some gearing ratio changes behind the scenes as well which the PP drop masks, but that’s feeling not based on anything.

It looks like the G70 might be the new meta but as we are going so slow now….who knows

Edit: @MIE1992 couldn’t say never driven them but I would be very confident that race prepped cars feel more raw than their road going or homologated models (should do because they are weight balanced, using different transmission components, suspension is race spec)

Hello, i've been using the G70 all week. Top speed on the straight is down about 6kmh (3.728227 mph) , which is massive. What i noticed is, that the influence of the break balance might have increased. I drive the g70 - bb+5 rest asr off, tcs 0. Started a lap, left the bb 0 and got carried out the first corner like a good old FF 🙎🏻‍♀️.... I can't find the right words for this debacle... Next on the news, counterstrike with soft foam bullets, rocket league without rockets and no ball, red dead redemption 3 without any means of transportation and fighting is not possible, no guns.

Wow, is the group 4 BOP really that bad?

Or, have I just forgotten how to drive? I just tried the GTR around Interlagos and I’m three seconds a laps slower than I was on Monday.

Be Safe Ty Dillon GIF by NASCAR on NBC

I tried a whole number of cars. The G70 seems the fastest and with that I’m only two seconds a lap off now. The Suzuki Swift is actually pretty close to the G70. All other cars seem to be complete garbage now well and with that I’m not doing any more sport races this week start fresh next week.

After the patch I've tried to follow my self as ghost; 2 sec slower. I then tried few races to see how it was (still wondering why there was no reset on the leaderboard). 1st one, mixed A+/A lobby (one DR S was also there, @Barney Da Dog posted the result, couldn't say hy in time cause of the initial shock to be matched there as low A driver) starting from 16th (my first time from last) with no expectation or will to fight anyone. It was just a cruising to the flag trying not to lose too much from the snake of cars I had in front, ending 14th thanks to retirements. 2nd race from 2nd in grid, ruined at the beginning of last lap, made a mess hitting the guy in front to get 4 sec penalty whilst fighting for podium, ending 12th. I eventually got a 6th on my last one.
This patch has made the Gr.4 "almost" ridiculous. My old Gr N tuned Clio Williams was way more fun than that.

@Gurzu yes it feels like we are being more taken away from Sim to arcade with these accessibility nerfs, which will bring worse driving standards.

Need more different cars to race like last weeks radical race.

What’s the point in having 560 odd cars and racing 2 classes - surely there is enough player base to have extra dailies or 1 per class from N til X

I'm on holiday until Wednesday and I'm honestly dreading coming back to Gr3/4 racing.

I feel like I've been trying very hard to get over my foibles with those categories and make an effort to improve my technique, especially with Group 3 recently and now I feel let down because apparently now you can just mash the brakes and throttle with little consequence. It's so disheartening.

My biggest issue was always (even since GTS) that I would tend to hold the brakes for too long, too timid going into the rotation phase of cornering, so this "accessibility nerf" as Brock put it is really going to throw me off.

Well it's been many many months since I got a full house... But it just felt a bit 'meh'. Driving the G70 and basically just braking, coasting and turning, then full throttle. I got a 2nd and a 3rd in the 650, which felt more of an achievement even though I'd started on pole.

Looking at the post-race and in-race chat, it was a dirty barge-fest behind 😕

Oh, a race yesterday, an A+ Spanish guy started 7th, shoved past every car ahead (including me, who got a track limit penalty because of it 🤬) and won, with DR and SR increases 🙄

Are the Gr. 4 cars at least better balanced now? This was a massive benefit from the Gr.3 BoP update. Sure, the cars became a bit more boring to drive, but the grid (on most tracks) became a lot more competitive.

We'll see next week how it really evolved.
There will likely always be a meta, maybe a different one on some tracks, but now other cars may have a chance to be semi competetive in a race.

They could maybe do mandatory stops to spice it up a bit - the races I've done have been close but not that exciting, with little chance of overtaking (cleanly) and little chance of driving errors.

I’m sure this is the first week ever I got wins in 3 different cars?! The GTR, Lancer, G70

Sure going to be a strange weekend, usually I’m fully in race trim and not fighting for my time anymore, but mostly Sunday mornings have been where I squeezed some more time out of it

This weekend absolutely no point qualifying because they didn’t reset the leaderboard 🤨

Anyway, I took the afternoon off to get some racing in so that’s what I’m going to do 😁

Good weekend guys when it reaches you

Edit. @benjoi84 have a good one mate and don’t worry after some R&R you’ll be dying to race again 😉

Edit 2. What about that for a close win!!!!!!
