And we will never know if last week you would have been faster than me and this week I’ve not tried.

No no no my friend, I don’t mock you, I pity the fool 🤣🤣🤣

By laughing at me and insinuating that you can easily beat me, you are implying that you can do the same to @Darken Azriel - which is just plain rude as I nearly laid an egg to go ahead by a measly 0.01s.. So, so rude.... 😱🫣🫨 #drama 🤣

And there is you lording it about like @Nebuc72 is slow.

This is like the console wars of 1998-2010…

To be fair I have sparks, russ and Stokie Ben as friends so there is zero chance of topping my leaderboard 🤣🤣🤣

Sorry @Nebuc72 and @Darken Azriel we are just messing and techno is well techno 🤣😝

Great effort mate. My SR rating has gone down and getting the age old victim of a crash and getting the penalty instead. Going to try the BMW on your recommendation though.

Edit: no difference that I can tell.
I'm half a second faster in the BMW than the Supra if that helps. I feel the sprint version turns better and the endurance is faster.

By all means if you'd like me to log on...

Silly question, I always wondered how someone is able to make their replay available to all when browsing the global leaderboard.. I have shared a couple of replays publically but even when I was within the top 150, it was never actually available to click and view lol...

I decided to do the opposite:-) I have suffered a lot in Tokyo yesterday, but I want to use the opportunity, learn the track better, get much-much faster and learn to anticipate things and avoid those that can destroy your race. It is a less pleasant experience, but could be an important onewh

I think you have to switch the "broadcast mode" on. It's in the options menu, when in qualification or race, when you press start (pause the quali) you can also adjust the balance between loudness of music and car noises there. BUT JUST A WILD guess, i never went into top 100,.. I believed, someone from Sony drops by and checks if i am cheating, and if not, will upload my video..

No. This is a feature for disabling licensed music in order that you can broadcast gameplay on your own social channels (YouTube, Twitch, etc) without your stream being struck for copyright infringements.

You can't manually make your lap available on the leaderboard. It's an automatic process that occurs when you record a time in the top (I think) ten at the time you set it. You can, however, prevent it from happening if you're quick - which is what's meant by "replay hiding" in Time Trial events.

Scored the first win this week, and somehow got my SR rating back to S through Tokyo alone. When it works, it's brilliant.

Edit: Gorgeous.

Ace drive mate, started p5 too, it’s great being in 3rd and watching it play out in front of you and picking up the pieces

I have to say, I’m going to give this BM a try, just to see if I can get a sub 57 time in it

I decided to take it easy at Tokyo. Managed an initial 1:56.3 with a huge room for improvements, since my ideal is barely below '55.7. So today i'll try to confirm the ideal, aiming to consistently be in the mid '55 as treshold for start racing. Willow drained my enegies a lil too much last weekend, honestsly speaking.

@Lightpilgrim From DR B onwards the game start to become more serious, the worst are DR B/A mixed lobbies. I call them "Desperados lobbies", cause I find the racing it's sometimes beyond aggressive. Remember, everybody does mistakes (you'll also do it) and some carnages are just "track related" (f.i. check Dagon Trail's Chicane of Death, it's quite famous). So try to always give the benefit of doubt to your opponents, and (as many already pointed) never retaliate. The more you'll keep your SR to "S", the less psychos you'll encounter (not guaranteed, but higly probable). Remember also that behind a Nickame that's possible to find a lil kid of 11 years old, with all the cavets related to that (especially if the guy is actually an adult but the mentality is that of a kid, wich is even worst). For now, enjoy your journey. Be patient, eventually you'll end up racing people at "your level" (some even way beyond, so you'll learn some lessons) and then you'll see that good, fair and respectful racing will become more and more the normality.

Thank you. Great suggestions:-)

When I started, I was told the early ranks — E, D, and C — were all about survival and learning. That’s exactly how it went for me. I came in with no experience, and over the past two weeks, I’ve worked through the ranks in Sport Mode — now hitting B.

Suzuka has been the highlight so far — it felt like real racing. Aggressive at times, but fair. On the other hand, Tokyo was brutal. I got hit multiple times at the first braking zone, but I chose to stay calm, treat it as part of the learning, and just focus on not hurting my sportsmanship rating. Mistakes happen, and it’s all part of the process.

Now that I’m in B, I know things get more serious. I’ll probably be slower and less experienced than most here — but I’m okay with that.

My plan is to:
  • Learn the track early in the week
  • Aim for consistent lap times
  • Study lines and join races mid-week once I feel ready
I care a lot about how I race. I want to be clean, respectful, and competitive — and make friends along the way. Racing is something I really enjoy, and it’s great to be part of such a talented and supportive community.

Pace in race B is pretty hot, guys can circulate near their qualy time in split A/B rooms. I try to just keep my nose clean but if you are too conservative you just get bullied off by the pack, it is a delicate balance. Pace wise, I am fast through the docks areas, sort of balancing throttle on and off to keep momentum but I lose quite a bit of time to fellow high B drivers through the final S complex. I try to keep the lines nice and accurate but I am then slow, if i push I run wide and ruin my lines.

Is a great combo and very well paid also.
Sadly it is too short. 5 laps would be perfect.

Beautiful.

Surprised at the early upshift into 3rd out of the tunnel.
I found that out of the tunnel and exiting the next 180 degree right-hander was much better to shift up earlier - shaved me 0.3s overall since Monday doing so! You still need to rev it, but shift just before the small drop in revs before it shoots up again! Other slow exits, it's pedal to the metal!

Now that I think about it, maybe I shouldn't tell you my secrets! 🤣 🤣 But it's all in good fun and all about helping each other improve so if you or anyone beats my time by following my own tips, I am just as happy as claiming top spot 🥳

** EDIT ABOUT THIS PART SPECIFICALLY **

Everyone except @newmedia_dev - that guy can squeeze a basket full of fresh lemons and suck the juices! 🤣 🤪😘

Wow, I support you and this is what you do? Wow. Just wow.

A few tips the fast guys don’t tell you and tidge doesn’t either is….

The cars like the G70, Mazda 3, 155 have huge differential losses.

What that means when driving is you’ll see/hear the rev counter searching as diff is shuffling or locking for traction.

There are two fast techniques to deal with this, the first is to pre torque the transmission and accelerate smoothly this reduces the tire slip as the drive is near constant but it can make the car feel understeery on the brakes or lift off, then you have the tidge/top driver approach which is to manage the speed earlier and maintain a longer exit drive gear (this is the fastest way as ridge proves every week)

So for all the lurkers and those interested the fastest lap is typically the one where you do less things, less steering, less gear changing less pushing the diff etc.

“what does this all mean Glen?”

It means though it feels/looks slower taking a higher gear in some corners and a exiting smoother riding a gear for longer, is better than braking loads smashing down the box, wheelsping loads (bogging down) when a slower 3rd gear exit would have you down the straight way faster.

I give up 🤣🤣🤣 I have got over the vertigo for now so last night I decided to go back to VR and see how I felt. I am ridiculously slow 🙈🙈 Didn't even bother trying to race as I just cannot seem to find any speed at all. Really like the BMW around Tokyo but I just am properly struggling and I am not really sure why. Tried QT around GV again in the Atenza in VR but even though I felt I was quicker I wasn't 🙈. Will have another go later but I am too afraid to try any races until I can see some improvements. GV in VR is fantastic 👌

In all honesty I can’t get on with vr, can’t say it’s taking me off my 48inch oled LG, the kids enjoy the vr showroom etc but it’s not catching on with me 👀

I need a nice flat track because the hills are making me queasy and I can’t find the speed

There it is I said it out loud, don’t tell the wife, it was worth £350 😆

I really enjoy it, my problem is that I have not physically been able to use it for the last 2 months 🙈 personally, and I know @newmedia_dev will agree, it's by far a better experience. I just need to get back in to it. I do have an issue with 1 of my lenses being blurred but as I bought my set 2nd hand I cannot claim warranty. I will buy a new set later in the year 👍 don't give up on it just yet

Dont expect to be inmediately faster. It takes some time to get accustomed to.
I went from low A+ to almost B in one month while transitioning from flat to VR.
I was really struggling but the inmersion was worth it, I didnt care for DR.

Then, something clicked on me and I started to recover the lost pace and I can confirm Im faster on VR than I was on 2D.
To achieve that level of confidence took me like 100 hours of gameplay I believe.

Maybe this thing is not for you, but we all been there.
My first time on Brands Hatch forced me to run to the bathroom after turn 1 :ill:.

The nausea went on the second or third day in my case but the pace... the pace took a bit longer

I haven’t been on GT7 all week and I finally got on today and gave QT for daily A a go. The car felt really slow like I was driving through molasses and then I looked at my time and I kind of surprised myself.

With that I joined a race or two. Both were raucous affairs. On the second race, car behind on the last lap lunged at me on the left hander at the bottom of the hill (the second hill) and then appear to get the rear of his car in the way of the front of my car….

Oopsie Daisy he took a little spin. I’m not proud of myself, but it gave me a laugh. You could say vengeance was served. Now, if he hadn’t lunged at me, none of this would’ve happened :D

Nice time on A, I’ve been trying all week to topple @kowalski__1 time but it’s too good for me,

I’ve some work to do now you and @Mc_Yavel popped up ahead of me

Been fun racing at the mountain this week, clean too

I had a look at race B and race C as well. Like the time trial at the moment I just can’t get a good time in Tokyo. Tge time seems OK and then I look at the leaderboard and I’m in the 10,000s. Ugh. That’s not competitive.

And I should like daily rate C but for some reason, perhaps it’s because we’re in the same group 4 cars. I’m not sure I can be bothered.

Perhaps I’ll do a couple more bash ‘em ups in daily race A and lower my SR a bit more and then call it quits for the week. :scared: :D
