Down to an 1:56.0 at Tokyo. Struggling more than expected to get lower than that. I need to shave another half sec consistently to race. Leaving almost 1-2 tenths at turn 1 (maybe some other 1-2 at docks area), this leaves "only" ar 2-3 tenths to get elsewhere, but I actually am at the point where I don't know how to pull the rabbit from the hat. I btw need to admit that one month on Gr4 cars only, made me lose some habitude to snaps oversteer and, in general, some sensitivity to Gr.3 class. At least the performance's gap between the Gr4 and Gr3 cars is kinda restored.

You can, however, prevent it from happening if you're quick - which is what's meant by "replay hiding" in Time Trial events.
Not that I’ll ever be in this position, but I’m curious how one does this?
In all honesty I can’t get on with vr
I would give it more time. When I got mine, I started the game anew on a new account after getting frustrated on my old account.

Expecting to drive like you do on flat screen is not going to work. Starting anew gave me the chance to get used to it while in the low stress environment of single player and a lot of that become fun again. It’s surprising how much fun you can have looking around a fiat 500…

Even if you don’t want to start anew I would advise redoing low stress races/events etc. Take the VR off between events. It should become easier over time.

It's easy to get into that position, just hit the track the moment the new session goes live. I've managed to get the most godawful messed up laps in the top 10 that way. Hopefully no one has time to see my replays before I set a better, and not top 10, time on the next lap or two.

Next Monday I'm off duties. I'll surely try.

So, despite Race B being a bit of smash fest, I does seem to have calmed down... slightly. I decided to race the Expressway again purely on the basis of timing (more races per hour than Race C) to rectify my disasterous SR rating that crashed and burned on Monday and Tuesday morning.

If necessary I am sacrificing positions/DR rating to try and avoid ALL contact with anyone and everyone. All was going well (just needed one more Clean race, to get back my SR S), until the first hairpin/loop when some wally, despite me covering the inside of the corner, thought it would be a great idea to try and find an opening that wasn't there. Anyway, so he hits my inside rear quarter so I half spin out. He ended up in a similar situation. This was the only contact in the race. However, I lost SR points and be gained SR points. Seriously? PD really need to get stuff fixed, but don't actually think they will. I think they just don't care!

What about with things? Scraping walls will also impact your SR.

Nope. All good on that front. Because of what happened earlier this week, I have been driving so cleanly all in the effort of resurrecting my SR. One more clean race and I’ll be back to S 😁
Any off-tracks? Cutting the insides of the container section (only one of which gets you a penalty) and running deep for the first right-hander there are pretty much the only places though at TXSA.

As I said, I have been so careful even to the point of sacrificing DR points so I can get back to SR S, which I now have... thankfully. One thing I did notice - ones SR can drop like a brick, very quickly, but can be quite slow in climbing back up to S.

Pretty sure I know how it works.
I did it once, back in the days of GT Sport.
At that time, I had an Asian account. Qualifying times were separated into 3 regions.

I was doing qualifying laps at the Blue Moon Bay triangle track (Camaro). A really fast Japanese guy named Sirvia was at number 1, with no replay. Eventually, I figured out a trick that allowed me to overtake his lap time by a good margin. The game saved and shared my lap replay, and wouldn't you know it, about 15 minutes later he passed me (again, no replay for his lap). I was thinking, damn, I wish my secret technique wasn't visible to everyone.

I started thinking about how to manipulate the lap replay save. I recalled that when I've had top 10 laps, and quit to check the leaderboard, in the first minute or two, my replay isn't available..... oh, now I've got it. ;)

The game needs a bit of time to upload the replay. I tested the idea by beating my previous best lap, then shutting off my console right after crossing the finish line. It worked. No replay.
He and I finished the week at 1 & 2 because nobody else could see how we did it. :D

I don't know if turning off the console is necessary. Maybe it would work by just closing the game.
I haven't tried it since then.

After languishing at DR C for a few weeks, finally managed to claw my way back to DR B, courtesy of Race B at Tokyo.

Whilst it has been a bit messy there, I've avoided most of the carnage, and finished top 8 in every race so far (even those where I've been taken out on lap 1) - clean race bonus in most of them too 🙂

Need to improve my QT though, I'm a long way off!

I’m really starting to lean to controller type based lobbies. The problem with a very good street race is that and no offence just observational is that the precision required to race close especially in the high speed twisty bits is much harder for controller users vs (most) wheel users.

The example being and ill post some videos is that I can go side by side and hold a smooth line, a lot of controller players can’t do that it’s all or nothing, left or right and then there is contact and the rage messages “you ran me off” nope I was holding my line tight but you kept turning in….rinse repeat etc

I just don’t think the player base would be big enough to split it by controller type.

Anyways, by is fun but I hate the SR mechanic as it is at the moment, it’s really archaic

Still on a '56 dead at Tokyo on the Supra, starting to hate my self :banghead:. In 6 differents sessions i've always matched my '56.0 (.017, .033, .021, .066, etc..) with the ideal always between '55.5 and '55.9. The only one time I was really on the verge of getting the '55.5 done, I binned the final esses line to lose there all my advantage (0.496 sec loss). Gonna try the RCF tonyt, just to see if something like an improvement is possible or not.

Thank you!
Ps4 and controller user here. I suspected, that the people, who can overtake (pass) others, whilst not being on the racing line must be super good or using a wheel.
When a fast driver approaches me, i set indicator right (except in bmw's thats against their philosophy) and let 'em pass. Problem is, i am mostly on a frozen lake when i am off the racing line.. And i also have to be super cautious in the next turn. It is like the "system" is recognizing, that i am off the line i am a bad driver, and i must be punished....
I guess here are more people who had some laps at the Nürburgring? I never flew off track, because i switched to the left or right. (only at 2 corners actually, you have to stick to the racing line or you 'll understeer.
Thanks for bringing this up, cause i will buy a steering wheel soon ☺️
.... I noticed a change to every other GT i played. I always had to get into "a flow" at each track and then i knew, this is a good lap. A smooth line, throughout the lap. If i have this feeling now, i know i am too slow. I only have a respectable time, when I am at a constant threat of losing my live in the next corner. And that feels wrong to me.
..... 2 days ago, at tokyo race b. My best time was 2.00.8xx. I tried the supra and it felt so fast, 2nd qualifying lap 1:58.7xx, i was so exited, saw myself in the top 5 of my friends leader board 😂 i confused the times of GV and tokyo, I was 30th on my friend's leader board and embarrassed to the bone 🙈

13 - 16 - 12 - 15 - 9

Nope, that is not the combination to my safe (don't even own one) or the number of times @newmedia_dev flipped his BMW in real life! 🤣 🤣 Those are my relevant positions during ONE race at Grand Valley Highway just now🤯

Lobby was packed with very fast drivers and having (funnily enough) improved my lap time to a 1:57:5 as I waited for the race to being, I was not expecting to start in P13 or the chaos which ensued...

Right off the bat, someone got a pen exiting the first tunnel after maybe 10s of racing and the proceeded to go very slow and give me a hell of a fright as I had to squeeze between him and EERIES (or however it's spelt lol) and go off track rather than take them out... Dead last but at least no damage, I soldier on.

I overtake a couple of cars and another serving a pen the following lap, only to get blasted from behind on Lap 3 and drop to P15 again... The lag didn't help anyone either. I know this track by heart now and also know how best to create overtakes and thankfully, it worked! Managed to make 6 genuine overtakes in 4 laps and then, working together with P10 behind, just keep things within control to finish in P9 with no major threats to being overtaken 😅🥳

Bit sad to have lost some SR from all the initial hits from the first 3 laps, but whatever... Got some nice compliments after the race so still happy 🙃

I’m just gonna leave this here :/

I have a whole week of this in A and fast B lobbies.

It’s ironic as hell that daily A in fun slidey cars is cleaner than this. This persons whole MO is just wiping people in to the wall, I have 3 races with them and it’s the same each time. Then the whole goading in the chat.

Well, he was showing the number of the beast on his livery and he behave like that .
You shouldnt say that you wasnt warned about 🙈

Erm... This is a ROAD track and you clearly just swerved into his lane! He ended up on the shoulder as you left him no space. And I don't even see the indicator blinker on as well from your end! Total lack of respect and knowledge of the criving code... No wonder insurance costs rise every year - coz' of "drivers" like you! Would ban and revoke license for at least 4 years and make you take both the theory and practical tests once again! 🤣

On a serious note - the guy is a moron and he should actually be banned!

Yep B is garbage, tried again last night, can’t finish a race, literally cannot.

A is quite fun as a one make, but I don’t assume much racing will be done this weekend, C just too long for me

Good weekend all!

On to next week already 😁

I think “why do you bother Glen” and then I look at your race times and videos and think…moron… 🤣🤣

All seriousness it’s one of those hard weeks but also made me realise that clean driving isn’t encouraged in the game so why should I move my expectations :/

Hey guys, long time no speed!

Still playing the game, just less time at work to talk about it here. Really enjoying Race B. Had to sell my soul to get gold on Tokyo Time Trial so I spent some time this week there. I can't hit the same 1.56 I had in time trial and my SR is slowly but surely moving to the underworld.

Also love Race A. What a great combo, right in the spirit of the game! Classic car on an original track. Had the chance to exchange paint with @afc5150. Great racing as usual.

Even with the 1000% increase, the prize money still seems too low. For people who are trying to get a few of the 20,000,000 credit cars, even with this small increase, it will still take forever just to get one or two. How about making the prize increase x1000 instead of 1000%. That seems more generous.

Well there is some light at the end my dark racing week, been trying all week to improve on my race A 1.31.5xx just couldn’t get near it, until today

And then go and smash is it by 7 tenths 🤷‍♂️

164 in the world, sure I’ve never been that lofty of a position before

Helped a little I raced the person who was 8th on the list

Game keeps freezing on the load screen when I try to join Race B. Does this happen for anyone else?
Not everytime, therefore i have it doing an oil change, or loading the game,, every loading screen was a gamble. It went better after i reset the console (ps4) - start screen of the ps -hold the on /off button at least 10 seconds, a second "beep" should be heard. When all lights are out, unplug from power circuit (2 minutes were enough for me). Restart - the USB Ports for controllers should be left free.
This worked for me, i can use the USB Ports as usual. I still have occasional freezes, but not as often as before..
I hope it helped
