Had a couple of races in Daily B yesterday, but starting near the back of the grid has took it toll on me. Was getting battered from all angles by some proper dirty drivers which, consequently, destroyed MY SR! Somehow ended up with a B SR even though I was trying my hardest to stay out of trouble. Subsequently, my DR is back down to C so the couple of races I've had today have been really good, finishing in the top 3 a few times.
Now I have to build up my SR again. God I wish the penalty system was better! ☹️

Thoroughly enjoyable week all in all, I hope next week is as enjoyable but with a decent race A as well, I’ve been so wrapped up in B I haven’t showed A any time in the end, even in VR.

Great clean racing all week, my early morning races have been against A & A+ but I’ve held my own, finishing well but no wins in those.

I’m feeling it might be gr3 spa on mediums next week, haven’t had that in a while, I’d take Watkins Glen, Deep Forest reverse, mt Panorama or a lottery win would be Sardegna A 👍
Race A is definitely worth a go mate - this was my final attempt before signing off for the week!

Back to matters racing, did anyone give Race C a go this week or not interesting enough?
I have been only there. Got my QT down to 1:38.579 which has me below 1800 in the ranking. Pretty happy with that. The racing has not been very fun for me though. But a good learning experience in handling tires that only feel like your QT tires for two laps.

Great week at Race B this week! 8 Wins, could Qually any faster. Never stopped trying though! Was in a lobby with @newmedia_dev for Saturday morning runs! You're fast pushing me past my skills at the time, keeping up with you! I was just trying to wreck you!

I got to know this track very well! I was more than blessed to have ran with mostly A+/AS guys all week, that helped out a ton, that knowledge was 2nd to none! Braking points and just overall pace! I just stayed fast enough to pick places up when, mistakes were made.

After that, I hung it up for the week, as it was starting to be unruly. Last race of the week, was the worst of the week, and left with my SR low S. They shooting gaps, that are all right not there! And got myself a 5 second penalty, should have handled that 1 better!

Hopefully your week was just as good

Guess what, if the week at Glen was a complete disaster, the week at TM was simply the opposite of said disaster. In 8 races (5 in mixed lobbies A+/A as a B driver always from 10th on the grid) I didn't lose any DR points. I recovered all was lost at Glen and got even in the '00 club (2:00.950). Racing was particularly tense in two A/B lobbies. In one, where I slumped from 4th to 6th at 1st corner waiting after slightly hitting the guy in front with no demages whatsoever, was so "hot" that I ended 2nd anyway due to stupidity in front of me. A final victory brought me eventually to where I was before Glen (yo-yo is still on apparently 🤣).
Livery is now complete, there's more coherence on sides and some minor improvement.

Don’t despair, there are good days and bad days racing in dailies, but I’d say the good far far outweigh the bad.

You do need to put some time into quali, personally I watch the @Tidgney videos every week and look what the fastest time does it and also the slowest top 100 time which has a replay, because there are different ways to be fast.

But you gotta keep going, leave plenty of space first couple of corners and the racers will know you a careful driver and return the favour, mostly 😁

Try different times of the day to race as they have different groups of people in and you’ll be surprised how clean you can find racing.

Go get them 👊
Hi brockie, and others, ...FYI, this afternoon I took your advice and actually spent some time Qualifying for the Daily Race B (Spa), ...and I achieved my first ever GT7 Pole Position 🥳

Starting up the front is sooooooooo much better than starting mid-pack, or at the back of the grid.

At the start, a couple of guys behind me got a great run out of Eau Rouge, ...so they passed me without incident (I gave them plenty of room as it was obvious that they were much faster), ...and I followed them through Turn 1 expecting them to take off into the distance.
However, I stayed with them, and they were "beating each other up", so I just waited, and eventually they pushed each other off the track, and then I POUNCED!

Now in first place, ...I just concentrated on my lines, gear shifts, braking points, and being smooth.
Well, it paid off as I also WON my first ever GT7 online race 🥳

I am only D/S rated, but an online Daily Race win, is a WIN! 😁
My Qualy time was 1:23.350. The fastest qualy time that I saw today at Spa was 1:21.XXX

No more hanging at the back of the pack for these Daily Race starts.

Hey brockie, thank you for the advice, and pep-talk mate; ...it WORKED, and it is very much appreciated

...and I appreciate the comments from others here too, as I learn more about racing GT7. Thank you.

Well done buddy, first of many 😁

👍

Not seen the line up for this week yet, but I guess this race B spa this week, I’ll take that 😁

Even though you can't gain DR at race A, you can sure as hell lose it.
I just lost 27k DR points.

There may have been an incident, or two.
Takes me back to my wilder days in GT Sport. :embarrassed:
I had this before, my SR dropped and when I got "promoted" in DR I actually got demoted because of my SR.

I think you just need to get your SR back up and it'll resolve itself, can't remember exactly what it was but it wasn't the drama I thought it was!

Edit, found it - get your SR up and you'll be promoted as expected:

@GOTMAXPOWER is rigth.
Looks like the usual PD's team that choose and set the Daylies may be on holidays... Big round of applause to the substitutes, they nailed it this week. 👏
I see Spa as my main playground, but race A and C are quite interesting and deserve to be done at least once. Wishing I nice racing week to everybody .

Where is this screenshot from?

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races: Super Stars

There’s a bit of a shake-up in the Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races this week, beginning today, with a new event that looks to pick up where a fan-favorite Weekly Challenge event left off and a rejig of some regulations...
Also, Race A have 16 players, instead 12 player like before.

I unfortunately didn’t get around to actually doing Race A last week despite my excellent qualifying time, but for this week, I can’t decide if I wanna focus on Race A or C, as both look like a blast!

I have to admit that I was one of these people who got bored by the lack of variation in daily races, but this week PD have pulled out something very tempting.

But I don't get why there's no DR activated on Daily C.

Is this a mistake maybe?

And for some reason DR is back ON for Race A? Mixing it up -vs- accident, I'd think. They get hammered on all the time for the lack of creativity so, have a cup-o-variety, lol.

Looking like a good week, too. They managed to pick one of the ONLY FF cars I actually enjoy driving. The Civic tourer is a freakin' blast to drive...but so is Spa.🤣

Some great 'first world' problems to have this week.😁

One last one from last week Race B, bit of a purists race, tight quarters. @newmedia_dev makes a cameo

@sturk0167 Picking something up for the Mrs are we?

As for this week's races, you gotta be at Suzuka surely? Great line up, rain, seemingly even field ..... what's not to love? This will be my first time racing at Suzuka as it is near impossible on a d-pad and so much better on a wheel.
