Haven't played it yet, but from the looks of it Race C is genuinely fantastic, and exactly the type of racing that GT7 should have facilitated from the start.

It feels like every element of the intended GT7 experience - from custom liveries to tuned car builds to dynamic weather - has come together in Sport mode for the very first time, and it makes me so sad to think that it could all go back to the same old bog-standard Gr.3 or Gr.4 cars racing around the same tracks next week if the player metrics aren't enough.

Regardless, this is a very good sign. Now bring on the 90s DTM daily!!! :mischievous:

I just did my first A race.
The slipstream is crazy. It seems like you can catch it from about 1.5 seconds back.
I just did my first race A in an A/A+ lobby and it wasn’t the slipstream that was the issue 🤣🤣🤣

Fun race but I’m not sure about the chicane track limits, you can go as wide as you dare but over cut the entry sausage and 1s seems harsh as half the cars in front are ghosted 🤣🤣🤣

Not doing daily A, 2 races in higher split lobbies in EMEA and nah, loads of decent racers, Mario and Dane but to
Many lower split drivers chancing it quite honestly

2 races

The fact I didn’t have fun in either doesn’t help.

Will just do laps this week I think unless time blocks free up for C.

No interest in spa 4 laps, it’s a fan fav but I personally can’t stand it havent liked the combo since GTR2 but iconic track etc

I made a post a couple of weeks back about it feeling like the content pipeline team and the Sport Mode operations team don't talk to each other.

This race feels like what can be done when they talk to each other!

A little bit talking and coincidence never hurts.

Race A needs a little bit of settle down, race C is attracting maybe largely the intended or unintended crowd?

B just about to do one.

Why turn DR off? It promotes the early quit yet A is brutal in losing DR such is the player spread. Good races but maybe not rolled in to the player base easily

Put down a dozen laps for each of the Dailies.

Race A: Civic Type R (EK) Touring Car - 1:47.041 That damn chicane, man... 😤

Race B: NSX Gr.3 - 2:22.669 Would've liked 5 or 6 laps

Race C: NSX GT500 '00 - 2:04.022 Boo at no ARTA livery 😔

No DR for race C is disappointing, but it looks fun! I've been wondering when/if we would get the Gr.3 GT500s in their own race for a while. Adding the non-JDMs with weather is a nice surprise! 😮👍

Good luck out there!

The NSX is really solid all round as well dry or wet. The Lambo and Porsche are knife edge!!!

@Tidgney the yeet of your ghost for daily A 🤣 it’s like the TT yeet in the delta! I can only hit the curb 1 in 10 to not end up sideways and crossed up!!!
Ye that whole chicane is a proper yeet. I wish they'd remove the sausage as I think that would make this circuit soooo good!

Initially concerning night in race c, I figured a nice safe gtr to get my feet wet and wow, could not drive the thing to save my dang life! She wanted to walk off the road under power on mild turns? I thought my wheel was broken or something. About 5 laps in i give up to try the nsx when I realise .....there's two GTR.

I try al the cars and they mostly feel very, very floaty at the front end, a sort of hollow feel to the steering. I can't quite gel with the nsx but get the Supra into the mid 4s. Eventually I get the gtr500 to a mid 2.03. Which is competitive for now.

Tried a race and was flogged, I've no consistency and still prone to struggling at Suzuka. I find it an odd track, I do better there in formula cars because of the downforce (i golded the super formula tt there) but these cars on this track are not my strong suits, spoon is a bloody nightmare.

Much to learn.

Decent start to Daily A QT.

My optimal is a 1:45.7x, I just need to get consistent on the chicane as one wrong bounce and you lose a second or more and up to 1.5s penalty.

Also, how does this car drive with race fuel? Is it completely different. Guess I should do a race and find out…

Edit. First race worked out.

Edit 2. Second race I finished 3rd, .4s back so it was close in the top 3. I started P1 but messed up my second lap after getting flustered on lap 1 when P2 rocketed by me after the hairpin. I couldn’t believe the speed he got, so I had to watch the replay. Turns out there was a bit of bump drafting going on with p2 and P3 and p2 got a heck of a launch 😁. In the end it was still a good race.

I like that A has DR points. I find A races much more fun over the Gr3 and Gr4 races which have become stale in my mind. So, I’m now on the cusp of becoming an DR A driver again. Not sure I want to be there. It’s more fun being a top dog in the B brigade. 🤣

Trying to find the car for Spa. Obviously the GTR is fast and has the gears spaced spot on, especially for Stavelot exit. I'm at a 2:20.5 for now, with huge room for improvements. After a long period almost on GR4 cars only, I need to re-adapt a lil bit.Tried the M6 Sprint also and it's almost as fast as the GTR, but with double "sweaty" work, so no go for the BM. Tonyt will be the time of the GR Supra and McL 650s to be testef. By Wednesday I'll have decided wich beauty will be my partner for the weekend for race B.
For race C I see the GTR GT500 as a solid contender, not only on dry tarmac. At first sight, I don't see the Lambo fast on wet surface, but I may be totally wrong.

I’m leaning toward staying in race A, Spa is great but would have preferred medium tyres, it’s taking me too many laps to hook it all up and I’m find the field struggling too which is causing some questionable racing standards 😁 early days in the week though,

Had a great few laps this morning on race A, couple of wins, a 4th place against some A drivers with 1.44 QT where I was actually leading going into the last lap but it wasn’t to be, 1.45 definitely there for the taking

PD would break the internet if they did a full on Group A:
R31, R32, RS 500, E30s, 190 E, A70. Shoot, testing it with a Weekly Challenge first with AE86, EF, EG, 205, GTI traffic would be crazy cool.

Threw a couple laps in at Race A, which is a blast. Great car, great track...bad sausages, though. These are the angry type that are, apparently, damn near as tall as the car itself. In the end, they're really just rally cross jumps.

Spent most of my time trying to figure-out which car suits me best at Suzuka. Options seem to be:
  • Blistering top end with plenty of steering and the car in 'drift mode'; -OR-
  • Reasonable top speed with no steering and enough rear traction to push you off-track / into another dimension
I went with the latter and landed on the GTR GT500 in blue, lol. Running BB at +3 and it seems to be working out. Just nicked into the :02's with plenty left. Not sure how this thing is gonna hold up in the rain, tho. Might try the 911 again but that presents as even MORE terrifying in the rain.

Haven't even touched Spa yet...RH's on Gr.3's scare me.🤣
