You guys will love this, the guy I am fighting in the last two laps calls me dirty for blocking. I let him go 2 wide into T2 when I could have verstappened him, then into the banked corner I hold a dead straight defensive line. Was he expecting me to pull over?

Last lap, looked to me like he arrived at the Banksy apex party a couple milliseconds early versus you blocking...it's not like you stopped on the apex for tea-n-biscuits or anything. If they'd turned in just a bit later it looks like they'd have had the position. Not that you need my affirmation, but they definitely seem to have some ego issues clouding their verbal judgement.👍

The only reason I say that is unless it’s console saved game play the game takes liberties with how it plays back replays.

Also as a fun side note, the beetle is trippy as hell in VR, it doesn’t feel like a race car 🤣 but it’s fast! I never know if I should use 7th or not!

Yeah agreed, I had the right to defend but picked a line very early and stuck to it, no weaving or my personal pet peeve of guys leaping over to the racing line right as we brake after being defensive (seeing this a lot).

I rarely save with the inputs as it looks nicer without them. I've never used 7th, I used the car here and at Barcelona and TBH only got to half way up the rev range in 6th.

It’s a replay you can just upload it again with race info on and a fixed camera?

Edit: I struggle with it as I hit the limiter for 6th in a couple of places, it’s really short geared

Wait am i doing it wrong? I record video by going into the game and playing the replay then recording as I watch via the ps5 record function. Are you saying there's a way for me to record the whole race without watching it?

If you hold your capture button so you get the menu, you can record the last xx minutes you played to a max of 30mins, then quickly crop it.

Yes, just save the replay in game and you can share it, your YT account is linked because you upload already, you then record the screen in any camera angle and record that.

Or you can just save the last n mins from the share menu a quick trim and it will upload the game play as you played it from your view etc. if you want I can do a quick video on how to do it or how I do it without a capture card etc for future reference?

Finally got a win! Must be the first in a fortnight and helped greatly by someone’s payback on another but I’ll have it!

This has been my biggest beef the last several months. YESTERDAY, some dude ran me in the grass on the exit of T1, and then got angry at me when the loss of traction cause me to run into him at T2. Later yesterday, I was pulling a pass at T1, I gave AMPLE warning. I think I pulled out to the inside just after we cross the line. I must have been there for more than a second, and dude in front of me slices across my nose like I wasn't there...

In addition to this the game needs to up its game on actually teaching people to drive and race AI/Humans it doesn’t matter.

The whole beyond the apex magazine should be baked in to the learning to drive structure.

The whole chase the rabbit thing exacerbates it not by being last but the illusion you are really far back cause people to “rush” then they have programmed the AI to do really unrealistic things deliberately like poor braking or deliberately slow in specific sections/corners.

The player is conditioned to make these dubious overtakes and doesn’t learn restraint or thinking further down the road, this is where you get the AI turning in to you etc which then creates this feeling of it’s really bad and trying to kill people etc.

I bet if in single player CRB worked the opposite way round in that you don’t get any credits if you aren’t clean, you’d incentivise a different behaviour and approach to the races.

Also the difficulty needs to increase but alongside better race formats.

It’s not a long journey to start with the Aqua and then be racing GR1/2/3 cars in a daily and their solution to this is ghosting and in some cases it makes a lot of sense but the over ghosting in the earlier DR again conditions the behaviour that the cars aren’t real and the people the other side of them aren’t real with emotion and ability etc etc

That’s a rough one, I’ve learned in the higher lobbies to expect it and brake or lift a little earlier, in good lobbies it’s not a problem as much as you’d expect a car clean passed you to move “before” the braking zone back to the racing line if they are fully ahead.

Just out of curiosity (no judgment) do you use the braking markers, the game ones?

I’ve raced with a few A guys that do and that don’t, I personally don’t use them as it’s too much in VR but you can definitely notice the difference in braking and lines, all as fast as each other just go about it in different ways

• Start P9, down to P16 by T1 lap 1
• Start P6 , down to P16 by T1 lap 1
• Start P1 , down to P16 by T1 lap 1

My improved starting positions are due to improving my qualy times but still, I just get shunted off by P2 or P3 each time. Sick.

Because people can’t actually race. I’ve had this in the US servers this week. I don’t hit the car in front off me and in starting P3-p8 but the guys behind me call me slow and, those lovely sweeping lines turn in to complex lifting and position dances that put us further and further away for the front runners we were with.

It feels like school is out for summer now such is the clumsiness.

It’s been a long time since I’ve actually reported a play but the constant messaging and in race behaviour I did report them.

Anyways, family time and dinner and skip tomorrow as I’m not feeling it on my pace and want.

One thing I learnt about Dailies at Daytona, never start the final lap in 1st with a small gap.

Today I had a good race at Autopolis in Daily Race C with my G70, the leader never pitted so he lost our a whole minute when finished and I captilised and jumped and finished overall 2nd place for my first try not bad!! Win win!

Hey, that's not bad for a second-place podium finish. Well done, maybe you'll get some wins tomorrow hopefully.

Also, to all my Daily Race friends I have good news. I am at the Duke ER still with my mother. We're in Room 6312. The doctors and team leaders removed the mass and the tumors that were in her body. She has been recovering since Friday night. My prayers worked, I am so happy I feel like I want to cry. Maybe she will feel like a new person. She has been walking around good and eating fine. I'll tell you more about it later in my other thread(Cancer).

A few more races this afternoon to finish off this very productive week.

Managed to get my quali time into the last top 1000 for the first time.

3 races this afternoon with starting on pole, 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Ended up with 2 wins and a close 2nd.

And in each race beating A rated drivers to give my low B rating a significant boost.

I honestly do give up on PD. Tried 2 more races today and still same outcome. At least I got to T5 in the 2nd race before being punted from P1 to the very bottom again...

On a side note, noticed @Barney Da Dog get a bit too close for my liking in our lap times so had to put some more distance between us 🙃

I envy you! Doesn't really matter if I am top of my friend LB when I cannot even go 10s in a race without being killed to death.... Question - how is your launch technique, if you don't mind sharing? I am doing TC with half-revs and then going on green, turning TC off on 2nd gear but still losing at minimum 3 positions every time (Huracan).

There's a technique? 😮 I just floor it with no TC, lose positions to any G70s, then try and hug inside even taking a bit of grass. I usually pit first lap, or at least do opposite of guy ahead. If I happen to keep P1 on lap 1 then I just run til lap 9

Entirely his fault there - I hate drivers like that. Quite a satisfying outcome! Hopefully they will learn from their experience, but then again....
