So… you’re slow to the party then BANG! Is that faster than Glen because he’s my fastest, I knew you two would put me into mid table as if it ain’t no thing 🤣

Seriously though, hats off 👊

Feel free to look for @newmedia_dev yourself mate, my stiff neck does not allow me to lower my head so far down in search of that turtle 🐢... 🤣 🤪

If you have a beef or a grudge with someone or just want to cause a bit of chaos then I don’t think it’s the answer as people will just do that (remember pink meme and they are exceptionally fast in some combos!)

It also then punishes everyone, how many times do we all get caught up in other peoples stuff because bad ghosting or rebounds or rejoins or decision making (theirs and or ours) when it’s fairly innocuous and just too close to the sun.

There has to be a better balanced way for the casual dailies and more serious dailies need to be added. 2p
If the offender is a maniac who wants to make someones life miserable, he would do it no matter what kind of penalty he can get.
I know this is a topic that we discussed here since ages ago, but it shouldnt be that hard to implement something better than what we have right now.

Iv seen the absurd this week at Monza at L1 T1
P13 goes kamikaze seeking for revenge at someone, in the process he killed 5 or 6 guys of the front rows (I was one of them)

He got his 5 secs pen and front wing damage while I have several damages and a brutal track reset.
I crawled with the car damaged half lap, the savage served his penalty and the pack of 5 or 6 cars broken didnt manage to catch him on that lap

On his head he surely got a bargain because he "won" 5 or 6 places as a result of that carnage.

I know that even with heavy damage this things will happen, but at least these maniacs wont get it for free.
Maybe heavy damage is not the solution, we have plenty of choices (drive through on the nex lap or black flag, forcing him to wait for the others to pass or the penalty time get increments... it shouldnt be that hard.)

Damn your at the top of all leaderboards 🤣🤣🤣
@TechnoIsLove

Fellas I haven’t driven a lot this week and I’m struggling with the Viper in VR, the visibility isn’t the issue but it’s like looking through 2 letter boxes in VR….its the lack of shift lights, you can only judge the shift on the tiny rev counter so I’m either hitting the limiter on good laps or shifting to early.

I’m a fraction faster in the 4C but just can’t get it dialled in for turn in speed in the middle sector. This won’t be my week.

@Childe Roland I 100% agree mate, I have this feeling that PD have the system they want now and any major overhaul will have to be GT8 but even then I’m not sure they would shake it up that much. I’m just cynical.

Weird, all I can read from your reply is "Fellas, bla, bla bla, excuses, cry, cry, cry, bla, bla, slow, excuses, bla, bla, cry"

Must be the browser changing your words to a different language by mistake, need to check VPN!

🤣
Man this is like F1, I am 1 second off pole but don't even make Q3. Savage.
Dude, do not worry. Practice and watch the best drivers, that is how I always keep learning! PS - I really do mean best drivers, so don't go poisoning your mind by watching anything which Glen posts, even his bloopers!

Damn it’s a good job you’re married to Glen, that much meanness on purpose is concerning.

Especially on his low week, darn you man,

🤣

You are dead to me!

TL: hi mate, don’t know how to ask but you are really super fast with a wheel and pedals and well what’s your set up?

Glen: hey, don’t feel embarrassed, it takes time and practice here are my settings and a couple of tips generally with the loadcell

TL: you are my hero, thank you so much. Sucka!!!

Glen: no worries hope you improve, always happy to share with those that want support or have learning challenges. Go fast buddy go fast

I didn't try and improve my time for Sardenga. I think it's fine for now.

My first race had me in P6 to start. I go very deep on that turn after the long "backstretch" and lose the top 5. P4 and P5 come together in turn 1 and I move to P3. And that's where I finish in a very, for me at least, easy race. P2 was too far ahead for me to catch but I'm not complaining about a podium finish.

Race number 2 has me in P10 this time. The race starts fine but I crash at the turn before the final turn just like yesterday. I finish P13 in this one.

My final race has me in P11 to start and there is server lag. Which I am blaming on an incident where I rear ended a driver and send them to meet Barry R. I waited until they passed. Unlike earlier where I got dumped and the driver who hit me just kept going. I go on to another P13 finish.

So, with the lag I've been experiencing, I'm done for the week. It's very hard to race clean when cars are teleporting all over the place in front of me. Maybe I'll do some more meme races even though I said I wasn't going to do.

Did some more practice in Sardegna. 4th or 5th lap gave me a '41.378, then it was just "messing around" to understand where I'm losing the most from WL. So I'm sure now that I suck considerably at last hairpin, but in general I can follow the guy at less than 1 sec gap till that infamous last slow corner.
@TechnoIsLove Our ideal is very similar. For now 88 millisec gap is not worrying our ant friend. Tonyt I recon I'll be in the '40s, see you there.
@NevilleNobody before "stepping up" on the game I always was following someone's ghost ar 1-1.5 sec faster than my best QT, regardless. Once I started to follow the aliens (one between the 5 fastest, normally the one with the lighter livery if possible) it clicked. So be patient, if the speed is there, you'll get there too.
Tried few laps also at SSRX. Basically going back till almost the tunnel (at least passing the 9 km board) gives the possibility to launch the car at 415 km/h already exiting the 1st banker, using the high line and cutting towards the end. When it get to 416 before the uphill there's no fear of overrevs, it never slows below 409 during the climb and the 420 downhill is guaranteed.

Thank for the advice - it actually helped 🤪 🤣

I then hopped into a race and was a bit disappointed to start in P10, was hoping for a P8 or better but the real disappointment was in Lap 3, when I was in P7 from genuine overtakes, was about to get another place after car ahead had a crap exit but of course, that is too much for someone to handle, so ended up having to climb back up from P15 to finish in P12.... 😡💩⚰️

I hate these type of drivers...

Omg race B seems very competitive with the Viper. I haven't done a single race and I'm already getting destroyed in the leaderboards. I'm always between position 3.000-5.000 with a laptime 3 seconds slower than top1.

This week
top1 1:40.090
me 1:43.250... ranked 13.512🤔

Unfortunately last night I had a troll in most of my races, no QT, SR-B and somehow was places in SR-S rooms. Intentionally launching into every corner taking people out. Basically ruined my night, even if i survived he would create huge gaps in the field.

Decided to try the WRX and once you get used to the short, torquey gearing it seems a more viable option than the Beetle as it has more straight line speed. Might give the 4C a lash as seeing a few people race hard with it.

By any chance, was the troll called "Glen"? Even if "It's Not Glen" - he will always be a troll, regardless 🤪 🤣 🧌

So I'm currently low A, I improved my Race B qualifying time.... And it puts me dead last among this lot!
I finished 11th and still got DR increase though.

I found a couple of tenths by recalibrating my pedals - I was occasionally getting a maximum of 99.6% throttle unless I had my foot right down, I also increased the dead zone as I was still applying a tiny bit of power while coasting too.

What a nightmare, I’m not sure what’s worse - being in a room of Vipers with the Ferrari or the swarm of A+ to race 🤣 man that’s some high level racing 😁

Edit. Amazing QT by the way 👍

I refuse to run a Viper lol, but the Ferrari feels better to me and I'm more consistent in it. I've had a few good results wrecked by spinning Vipers 😞

THat's a brutal room, blimey.

I tried C and L.Burton and M.Hizal were in it - they were miles in front, even though they started at the back. Thinking about it, starting at the back is probably a safer option on C 🤔

@TechnoIsLove I must have just missed you this morning, as most of those guys you raced were in the same lobbies I had

Absolutely.
You had more chance to survive at the front lines of the Allies on the D Day at Normandy than in the front lines of Monza :D

I have a perfect record so far.
10 races starting between P3 and P5 and 10 races killed in turn 1.
No matter what line I take, I always find someone starting on softs who goes overoptimistic from miles behind

Im taking it with a smile because Im loving this race and somehow Im managing to keep my DR even at least.

EDIT: track re-joins this week deserves a separate chapter!
I have material for a photo book starting with this one that I will call "1 second before disaster" :D

Bro C rated lobbies at Monza this week is just a free way to tank DR and SR. Especially when you get punted from behind L1 T1 and then YOU get the 4s in penalties, as opposed to the guy who used you as his brakes, end up at the very back of the grid, and lose a bunch of SR and DR as a result. I started the week at C-S ratings. Purely bc of Monza, I'm down to D-B ratings. FML, do people not know that there's more than one lap and that clean racing exists? I'm tempted to just pull over off the start, let the carnage happen, pray that the ghosting works, and I don't end up with an unghosted car facing sideways right on the exit of the first chicane. Anyone got any other suggestions? Also, I'm running minimum downforce, if that's also suboptimal, someone plz lmk. Any advice will be read.

Tidgney used default when setting his time and I tried min down force following his ghost, the braking distances and slower corner speed aren’t worth it for the extra speed on one straight that it has any positive effect on.

My advice would be to use default or increase it slightly.

The low downforce might be contributing to the accidents, as people see you pulling away from them quickly and you have to brake a lot lot earlier than default/higher downforce so it’s catching people out. Especially when the cars don’t have brake lights and are so twitchy/responsive.

I think it was a bad idea from PD to allow such a wide range of downforce potentially between the cars, it’s just chaos and carnage waiting to happen with the differentials being so high in braking, acceleration and corner speed.

Minimum DF is a suboptimal setting here because you wont gain enough time on straights to compensate the crawling on the chicanes as @newmedia_dev said above.

Default or increased? It depends on your driving style I think.
Just be careful because the more you maximize the DF on the rear wing the more the tyre wear will suffer.

I tried 1200/1750 and I had to compensate with BB to the front (-3) and this has some effects on the braking points.

Finally, Im just doing default wich works better for me at least.
