Shaking my head this week with regards to Interlagos lap times... I put in a lot of time and effort and just fell short of @Barney Da Dog - well done mate!

Shaking my head not that I could not beat your time lol, but that with all that effort, we are still light years away from the top times... Being 1.4s behind P1 is insanely odd, that's like waking up for Xmas Day in September - not good! 😶 🫣 Also, as a self-assuring statement, could have done a 1:32:8 a few times but I am stupid and could not get a full lap together 🤣

And on another minor topic, the penalty message “Ignoring track limits” drives me crazy (I’m already pissed because a .5 sec penalty always ends up being a second or more).
The definition of Ignore is: “Refuse to take notice of or acknowledge; disregard intentionally
I definitely exceed the track limits but it’s always a miscalculation and never intentional.
This week on the RH tires, that message has become all too frequent.
The assumption is always that you are in control of the car and excepting avoidance actions (in real life, GT doesn’t care) that you chose to drive outside of yours or the tracks limits hence ignoring the rules.

It’s a valid message, just with GTs lack of penalty sophistication rather annoying.

As a side note, it’s something I have worked really hard on especially being more active in TTs these days is to lap consistently to a good pace with no pens or track limits. It helps tighten up that control and up the pace so you are comfortable being close to the limit without stepping over it. It’s particularly good in racing situations but hard to do.

Yeah, I'm usually a bit closer to the top Ferrari times - I noticed many are taking far more kerb than me out of the T2/3 esses, but I often spin if I try it, so losing 2 or 3 tenths there. Through the rest of the lap I am much closer, with my optimum being a 32.7** Most of the racing has been very good, with the various strategies often putting 6 cars very close together on the last lap.. I don't think another win will happen now everyone is dialled in:grumpy:

As for Race B, I enjoy doing laps of Fuji but the racing often leaves me in a rage:scared:

Did you serve track limit penalties on that lap?

Because the lap/sector isn’t invalidated so the time is valid but had a penalty in it. That would also align with the much slower time (a 0.5 pen costs about .7-1.5 seconds per lap)

That would be my guess.
Took me a while, but got back to this. Yes, it notes a time penalty on that lap. Mystery solved.

I would be placed 7th on your friends list. My name would be visible online, which might have made me famous. 😔 .... I also felt great when i ran my 1:34.501. Only 1.5 behind @Barney_da_dog that's pretty good for me. Now i am put on grid with the worst scum from dr. B (DR B SR D) and DR C. That means in lap 13, i start celebrating a possible finish on p5 and imagining how many points i gain from beating a B driver until i get pushed off track by someone who didn't even made a pit stop and will still be last with me in front of him. Cause going off track means it's over, sometimes I don't even know the shortest way back to the track. And the frustrating thing is, i had really clean races, even with the SR IDGaF guys, but one ignorant person is enough, that was in two races meaning about 50 minutes of my day wasted and left frustrated.
I'm still fine with the Citroën but i have to admit, turning feels exactly like this- imagine you are at a beautiful beach, fine sand. You brought a shoebox with you. Press on top of that shoebox, so it's stuck in the sand maybe one centimeter deep (height of a thin burger patty, for the imperial system user). Now turn the shoebox left and right while your hand is still holding it from the top, that's exactly how the Citroën turns, which is bad, but it works for me somehow. (controller user)

It's good to forge your own path when it comes to improving but always look at what the really fast ones do, try to understand why they do each things and how and that is how you eventually get faster - it's what I did! I was always good at racing games (GT1 veteran lol) but the last racing I did before GT7 was F1 2020 and on a controller.

When I hopped onto GT7, I was around 4s slower than top 200, then eventually got consistently within the top 1300 after a couple of months. I switched from controller to G29 and boom, at first, lost around 1s on average from my controller times but eventually, I gained a second and was then consistently in the top 700.

A year later, I upgraded to the DD Pro and 3 months ago, the QR2 and load cell and went from consistent top 400 to floating between top 150 (rarely) to top 250 but still get it wrong on occasion, as this week clearly shows 🤣 And I got here not on my own, but with help from some great people here (definitely, 100% not referring to @newmedia_dev btw) and watching the elites, like @Tidgney or Super GT, for example. And Tidge's in-depth guides are incredibly helpful.

You can still be fast on a controller, I think a few of the top 50 are just that! Watch and race against replays to see what they do different and the guides on YT (again, Tidge videos) as he goes in detail for every friggin corner of every friggin race every friggin week 🤣 That's dedication and something all people who want to improve appreciate, myself included! Feel free to add me on PSN is you want, same username as here 😜

On a separate note, @Barney Da Dog - in the words of Brian O'Conner, "I almost had you" 🤣

Ooof, I can't seem to go any quicker in the 458. May try the 650 or Huracan again, or even the RCZ.
Did a race earlier and a guy was doing race laps in the 32.5s in the 650😮 Then I noticed at the end he was a DR S guy.

I went across the pond to see if Race A is cleaner than NA... It's worse!
Funny enough I find “usually” the NA lobbies fairer but the EU ones much more competitive as the average field pace is a lot higher, so is the sweat/feistiness and borderline poor standards.

I’ve stopped moving regions now as I need to be competitive with the people I’m racing with constantly which at the moment is mostly the people who top my leaderboard yet my DR is no where close to there’s :/

I tried again and got the 458 and the RCZ in to the 32.9s - RCZ feels much more stable on the kerbs and easier to put in quick times - optimum is in the 32.6s.
I'm usually starting top 6 in the races but haven't had much luck with the pitstops tonight unfortunately 😵‍💫

So guys, happy birthday to me. I'm one year old in GT7 Dailies. My journey started on pad at SSRX (week 34), then on the wheel since i first visited Sardegna (week 42). Summing up my improvements at Sao Paolo:
'24 WL 1:29.656
My QT 1:33.602, +3.946 (+4.4%)
'25 WL 1:31.650
My QT 1:33.006, +1.356 (+1.48%)
I had maybe the mid '32 in me ('32.5xx ideal), but I was really too tired.
Considering the BoP changes, the Gr3 are now 2 sec slower.
According to that I'm (arguably) 2.6 sec faster than last year😉.
Unfortunately the RSR was "too sweaty-ish" to bring it in the low '33 at Interlagos 😓. I switched to the RCZ since sat morning and it felt a lot way easy to drive, especially in turn 1-2. The Porsche was rather untreatable all along the track, always ready to bite.
Have an excellent week everyone.

GR2 BoP is a joke. First race this week, went for the 08 NSX because I like the way it drives. Sucks to like how that car drives because it's so far off the pace, it's useless. Why even have cars share a class if they're not competitive against one another?

I'm pretty much ready to jump ship at this point. The only thing stopping me is that GT has such great controller support and feel, no other game can really match it because they're designed to be more hardcore and need a wheel, or more arcade and don't feel as satisfying to play.

Hello everyone,
What's going on today? I've set my Monday QT times and my friends list is empty. Are you all on vacation? or have you all deleted me from your friends list  ?
It must be a glitch or bug. Welcome back to racing with us. Enjoy your Monday. The Maggiore races this week should be pleasant and enjoyable for some. Would be a great fire way to increase your SR. To get very good lap times, make sure to study the top 100 replays to get an idea of where to brake, corner and make precise turns on the track. Good luck and make sure to focus and pay attention out there.

Back after two weeks away and meh, not keen on any of them this week. Race b is okish but the whole dang lap relies on nailing that chicane.
Yeah, I've not played GT7 in like 2 weeks, track wise, it feels like, we need to use more of the tracks! I'm playing ACC at this point

Said before and will say again, we are in dire need of way more tracks, like 10. There's so many real life ones that seriously couldn't be asking much for a license.
I’d come at it a different way, we need to use the myriad of tracks better with better combos, Strats and tires.

Tracks are not the limiting factor it’s the cycle that they repeat the way they do.

Let’s be honest in almost every competitive racing league it’s the tracks that are consistent but car, tire, weather drivers consistency is the bit that makes it exciting not so much the order of the left or rights…
