Well, which type of tires do you like to use in the daily races? Mine are hard because they offer more grip for staying on the road. Medium are fine too, I suppose.
 
Took one look at a track time for race A, realised it was the reverse maggiore variation and decided to stick with the glen this week, laid down a 1.47.8xx

I think it was back in April this same combo, but on Medium, managed a 1.45.5xx that week,

Happy to be back racing!
 
I muss say, I spent August with my mouth watering till the weekends thanks to PD's improvements in settings the races. This week is the same, looking forward to see if I could stay near the 1% delay from WL at Glen. On medium tyres it was + 1.23% this spring.
@NevilleNobody It's not just at Bus stop that "you do the time" (even if there I'm above average and get always a 2-3 tenths buffer against followers). Turn 1 and last are vital + the rigth hairpin up hill before the back straight. There's a lot of time to gain or lose in those three corners.

I think the first and last corners are my worst, my optimum is currently around 1:46.4xx using the meta BMW - I tried the trusty 458 but the M6 is just easier to drive round there, particularly since the physics update. Or maybe it's because I'm getting more familiar with it 🤔 458 may still be ok in a race (haven't raced yet this week)

I did some laps of Suzuka and I'm quite slow - I much preferred the 'old' Gr2 handling. Will persevere though and try to improve...
 
In my (limited) experience, this week's Race A isn't particularity dirty. It's just difficult!!

It suffers from two critical issues in the online ecosystem...

1. Any mistakes/slow downs are more heavily punished in 'slow' cars. You quickly lose the pack even lifting off the accelerator for a few moments. This discourages the fairplay form of giving positions back.

2. Comfort tyres, even Softs, are very slidey. People are losing control with the smallest of errors (and this layout isn't too well known to most players), and affecting the race for others. Quite often this is inviting retaliation, which, of course, is stupid.

Plenty of potential for good racing, nonetheless.

Really, in what way? I know it's gotta be annoying too having to deal with immature drivers.

You likely hit the nail on the head. The rooms I have been in are a big mix of DRs and, while it's clean at the front, you can see all the chatter from the Bs and Cs

After I improved my time managed a win but was a tense affair, cars behind between 2 and 5 tenths off all race,

I’ll be here all week 😁

I suggest you to use the TC at 1. It's sort of a live's insurance when hitting (too hard) the kerbs of the second part of Bus stop. In general it avoids wiggles/snaps induced by kerbs also at turn 1 and at the exit of the slow rigth hander after the back straight. If you drive smoothly it doesn't engage if not just on kerbs, so there's no time loss to fear because of it.

So, speaking of low participation, what’s up with almost no current forum posts for Assetto Corsa Competizoni?
Are the on-line daily races/time-trial participation numbers that staggeringly in favor of GT7 or am I missing a link somewhere? Based on the posts in this forum vs others, it must be.
I generally run the GT7 daily races but occasionally move over to ACC just to mix in some other tracks and it seems like fairly good sim. I just tend to learn a lot in the GT7 forum, not the case with ACC.

I would have posted this in the ACC forum but no one would have seen it 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s summer holidays in Europe and this is the last week before the kids start filtering back to school.

The average age of this forum and sim racing to any degree of semi serious involvement is in the more mature bracket.

While correlation isn’t causation I’d just assume it’s quiet as most people are on holiday, preparing for the new term, spending more time with family and playing games generally less.

Check on simgrid for ACC! You've got to put the work in for ACC, as to be in competition servers, you need a safety rating of 50!
 
I think this weekly C (I resist to call it daily :D) is not receiving the love that it deserves.
I know this is the most used track of the game and this combo may sound repetitive.

However, with the last BOP now we have 3 competitive cars (GT-R, NSX, Lexus) against the one-make race that we had in the past with the NSX as the only viable option.
GT-R is dominant on the leaderboard but dont underestimate the race pace of the other 2 cars.

Tire managment is the key of this race.
When to push, when to follow and when to pit may vary in every race.
Theres no only option for pit window here trying to maximize the tire wear so we finally have some decent strategy involved!

I strongly suggest to give it a try and if I didnt persuade you, maybe you can trust Digits review.
