Man, race b..... I either vanish off into the distance if I have pole or get kicked from pillar to post in thr melee from p2 to p10. Wild, wild stuff.

Group 4 sorely needs another 50hp, they are just too dang slow.

Main problem is that the Mazda is ridiculously OP. I’d take a better balanced group of cars over more power.

I’ve been racing in the Cayman (cue laughter), which has been a challenge.
So far I’ve had more clean races than dirty ones this week.
 
Race B is fun, i drove a 1:53.127 in the Citroën which is also great for the race. 1.53.200 in the G70 also great in racing. I started in grids Half DR:B SR B or lower other half Dr:C SR varies. I am DR C SrS and i was starting top 7 in 5 races. Different level of Aggressiveness. So obviously intentional and i kinda liked it, because i had many occasions where the menace was ghosted and probably died😉 or span while trying to spin me. But what kills the enthusiasm is the advantage of the Mazda 3.
Me in the G70 tight behind P3 in the Mazda3. The corner before the uphill straight. I hit it perfectly and didn't get below 143kmh the mazda, too fast out of the corner and ran hard into the barrier, there was minimal reduction in speed and no penalty, in fact it took maybe 2 seconds and he was pulling away again. Same in the second to the last turn, without breaking into the barrier and grass still pulling away... That's just absolutely arcade racing. I try the Mazda this evening, but everyone would be better off, if i didn't have to...
I hope the responsible persons got a real big cookie from mazda
 
At the moment at Sardegna, apart from the race I won, the 3 others were against A or A+ so maybe there isn’t that many folk racing it? Those guys I could keep up with but not gain on.

I’m just enjoying being at the thick end, took a good chunk out of my time and there’s a few tenths left I’m sure.

I’ll let the week play out and if when it becomes a procession I’ll finish the week out in A 😁

So guys, it seems that the Viper is beyond meta at DF, so no point to use any other "tool" to be competitive and it's like in Sardegna some weeks ago.
Now I'm not really sure I'll stick with race C during the weekend. For Sardegna, is there any real antimeta against the Mazda 3? I'm noticing the Atenza and the Mustang now on top of the leaderbord. How's racing with those two? For some reasons I can't really cope with the Mazda 3, but the Mustang is something I never seen so high up there. Is it just for an alien's QT or is drivable in race also?
About BB; the more I've improved my trailbraking the more I went to +3/+5 (mostly +4), even if sometimes it's car/track related. Never used negative setup till now. I used O/+3 on MR cars notably.
I recon it might be also a matter of driving style though.

For most people the Atenza is the most viable against the Maz3 but to be honest they are so close time wise.

The Mazda3 is a weird one to drive, I like it but it’s all torque and LSD shuffle (and no action, boom tish 🤣)

The key with it is to take a higher gear/stay in a higher gear and try to accelerate in as straight a line as possible it reduces all the LSD effort in putting the power down and rides the torque curve.

The atenza just drives like a normal car, less torque slipping and just rev it out in what feels like the “normal” gear.

An interesting this is that the clio in the new TT drives exactly the same as the maz3 and being the same circuit it’s ideal to practice with before a QT session in the Maz3 or vice versa it’s just lower powered than the Maz3

Agreed, mostly. If you get a bad exit in the 3 then it’s so slow with all the traction loss, but pretty much the same as any gr4 car there isn’t the power there to slip stream and slingshot passed.

I really don’t know what they can do with Gr4 in its current state now :(

This, exactly! The 3s just drive away from most cars even when you are in their slip.

@Gurzu - only Mustang I’ve seen was at my pace (mid-pack, B/S), but he was sideways alot! So might not be the easiest car to get pace out of.
 
Simple answer guys, stay in the 3 🤣

I’m loving this week, few wins here and there and genuinely good clean racing.

I am seeing more only B/S lobbies now, even at lunch and early morning so I think the player count is growing into the weekend,

Potential for it to get a little sweaty at the weekend though but my fallback is the TT at Sardegna 😁

I have a freer day tomorrow although need to get some work done but might be able to work on my time.

If it matters I spent my free lap time in the TT which was more fun than being pushed to pass or rear ended.

People just do people I guess. Top tip “brake before the ghost, you won’t make time braking later than it!”

I’m not gonna work on the Daily times now as I don’t find them fun, but mileage varies on these things so go forth peeps.

The next person who hits from behind in an A/A+ lobby god help them, there is no excuse to not anticipating braking in A lobbies. No excuse when the race pace is .4 of the QT. It’s embarrassing for them, can’t drive in a freaking line. Sigh.
 
Ran 3 quick races for 2 wins and a podium, my punishment for this success is to be moved back up to DR-A where my hairy rear end will get handed to me by properly fast guys.

We whine a lot about rubbish driving so here's one where I felt absolutely everyone tried their very best to behave. The guy in the vette was extremely fast and clean, very patient. The pack is so tight, the guy in P2 at the start was someone I beat to the win just the race before, hence the pack from P2 to P10 early on. Even the inevitable calamity was a self imposed mistake by the white car, not a dumb or dirty move. Felt i drove well except totally missed my brake marker at the church on lap 2.

I remember a while ago, there was a Gr.4 event at Mount Panorama which was effectively a Mazda3 one-make.

It took me a while to swallow my pride and go with the crowd, but in the end I was happy that I did because I raced many many times and I really enjoyed it.

Edit; it was before the Group 4 nerf.

I didn’t do that race but it was a lot of fun apparently.

I did many many many miles in the 3 when it was meta for Atlanta and the TY at RBR many many many miles.

It’s not the car it’s the artificial closeness that is the Gr4 cars at the moment. The illusion of choice is a bit weird. Just make it a one make race and stop pretending the swift is a viable car in this one etc
 
I tried out Daily Race C after a slight break from GT7 due to work, and it was like very fun, but it feels very repetitive of PD to make such a Gr.3 race again. Could we have not had Gr.2 at St.Croix or Maggiore like the TT EMS one? Anyways a solid 5th place got me and the Z4 there in the end.
