There really is no hope for race A, really is a T1 nightmare, despite improving my time i won’t be racing there anymore as it’s just a lottery getting through T1

My thoughts exactly, especially with it being the weekend. I looked at Race A earlier today (starting in 3 minutes), during my free hour before starting work and immediately thought the better of it.

I'm not letting any more Turn 1 Heroes fritter away my precious free time.

Yeah it’s a real shame mate, the combo is good, I guess you need a car which brakes a hell of a lot quicker.

But then again, not much different to LM and that right handed after the steep downhill section 🫣

This is why I'm really interested in Race A switching up halfway through the week. Either the car or the circuit.

Let us use our experience from Monday thru Thursday and try a slightly different race.

People are always overconfident come the weekend. Overconfident and desperate.

I’ve really slowed my racing down for the last few months because I’m not either enjoying them (racing standards or combos) and I’m not even doing the GTWS races which i am actually doing practice for.

Something has to change, race A has been too conditioned to be an SR free odd race, GR4 is so close now in player ability and car drive ability that the racing is frustrating for a lot of people. Gr3 is better but the way the weeks are falling I don’t get as many 30m slots in my life that line up.

In Tidgney's daily race video, he did say BRZ had better cornering speed with better tyre wear but lacked top speed. The M6 on the other hand has better top speed & lacks just a little in overall performance to the BRZ.

I was able to put my best time with a M6 by 3 tenths over my best time which I achieved in the BRZ.

Yes, you can see the difference on the long curve before the final turn - the M6 can close in on the BRZ, but the BRZ can take that final turn almost flat out. The M6 then closes on the BRZ on the start/finish straight, but it's then difficult to get an overtake done into turn 1.

Serves you right for being a communist! 😂 In all seriousness though, especially for Race B, I just don't get why PD just don't make the cars (Gr3/ Gr4/ etc) available in their best configuration, such as RS tires, since the race in short and fuel/ tire wear is not a factor.

To me, that alone will improve the actual racing standards because even though there are actual horrible, scum, dirty drivers, a lot of the mistakes (which result in contact) come from inexperienced players not expecting the lack of grip, etc when heading into corners in a 1v1 situation.

I wonder if it's all due to the Ferrari's brakes or because the SH tyres just have no grip. It's been quite consistent with me on SH tyres where there's zero grip & trouble in braking efficiently in TTs.

How much do you pay for Starlink, just curious. Are you able to complete races with that connection? If your wi-fi disconnects during a race, you will exit the lobby and automatically be placed last which will hurt your DR, but your SR won't change.

I pay €40/month and paid €400 for the antenna

My ping check was in game counter strike...when running speed test i got around 20ms.

Normally I dont run speedtest on ps5.

I tried Adsl before starlink and was worse, not even 20mb download...avg was 7mb...internet in Italy is a real problem and Most of guys I played here doesnt had a clue i was on starlink...

If fiber arrive to me, I d like to change it on the same second....not like Musk and know satellite limitations

Having fun at Willow. I might have 2 more tenths in me, but being at only 13 ms from @Tidgney"s lap guide time is gold for me. Races outcome will be a lottery, but I don't mind that much cause the track it self is too much fun.

Sounds about right. Starlink relies on caching to fake low pings (20ms is what they advertise). Again though, jitter (the amount and rate at which ping varies) is highly relevant here.

Bandwidth isn't relevant (although I'd hope it was Mb, not mb!) over about 2Mbps, in each direction. It's only relevant to other things taking up the connection's bandwidth at the same time: if someone is trying to watch Netflix 4K while you're gaming you'll definitely have a bad time on 20Mbps, but if it's just you doing shooty-driving stuff then it won't matter.

I'm having trouble parsing this one.

If your first question is asking if people who DNF count as people you've beaten in a race then the answer is yes. They finish last of the people still running at the time that they quit/disconnect.

The second question is I think a misunderstanding of how DR works. You take points off people you beat as a proportion of the difference in DR between you. If you're a DR A driver and you're beating DR B/C/D drivers, you won't gain many points from them.

Has anyone here had to leave an online game due to a bathroom break or someone ring at the door or any other miscellaneous reason?

Wish (a la GT4's B Spec) we could temporarily leave the game but could activate the B Spec so that the AI would play on our behalf without us having to leave the game. If it sounds unfair, then the B Spec could be there but with a time limit of a minute or two.

It would be real handy at least for myself because if I'm alone home, I fear nothing should happen where I need to leave the game.

How could a DR A driver even be racing DR C/D? 😉 No my secondary account im currently "warming up" is DR B SR S. The amount I gain from top 5 finnish or even from a win seems to be minimal. That lead me to suspect maybe there is a bug that the game doesnt count the dnf as won players in DR. The DNF percentage is pretty high in these Willow daily C's. 😅

Yeah I know practice is the only solution. But SH tyres in a race just seems beyond logic. In an ideal race, You'd be given tyres with the best grip that would wear out lowering tyre grip but in races with SH it's the opposite. No tyre wear but minimal grip.

I understand otherwise that apart from driving as fast as possible, You've to maintain composure & understand the limits of the tyre in order to perform your best in the given scenario.

Quite easily and it happens quite often.

Nope. The players you're beating simply have a lower DR score than you.

For example, if you're at the top of DR B at almost 30,000pt and you're beating 15 DR B drivers with 10,000pt exactly, you'll gain 600pt - or 3% of the progress bar. If everyone has an identical DR, you'll gain 1200pt, or 6% of the bar (at DR B).

Have you even tried older sports cars on the super grippy racing tyres you often seek? You talk about it a lot but don't seem to understand that many road cars function best when they're on sports tyres and shouldn't be on racing tyres at all. SH isn't illogical for a Testarossa at all, au contraire, it's pretty much a great tyre choice for it, SM and SS would've been perfectly fine as well. Racing tyres (in particular RS) have waaaay too much grip for older sports cars such as the Testarossa. You'll of course be quicker on a lap in these cars on RS vs SS but it will not feel good or natural at all.

The real issue isn’t the tires, the handling is fine on the tire choice….its the braking, had these been even one up grade with pads you’d be looking at a much different way to race and have fun.

The braking doesn’t reflect the tire grip/mass and that’s the bigger issue with both these and some of the vision cars but im less forgiving with actual real period cars vs fantasy ones.

There's more than a fair share of daily races starring upgraded road cars.

From memory, the Ferrari has CS by default, so the SH-wearing Testarossa is already a (slight) upgrade.

Done on this week just done.

I’ve only had a handful of races and pole for almost all of them.

I struggle to race people who aren’t fast but can make the race time up with “dubious” driving.

If next week is week then I will be taking an extended break, these are not fun or fair racing at the moment.
