Crazy bug happened to me today. Basically the half formation lap that the IA does, just bugged. First 8 cars did it normally, but everyone else just stopped. The race started and well, we were half a lap behind the first pack.

This happened to me recently at LM's Race B a few weeks back. Half the grid was quite ahead & the other half couldn't move because they couldn't move. So about 500 metres worth of gap between.

Jumped on for a quick Race B, cruising around in 3rd then spun on a kerb with an AWD car...... that takes some doing man. LAST.

The G70 is a fantastic car just because of the AWD powertrain handling. I didn't spin out on any kerb but bounced a lot a couple of times at the last bend of the CoD. Got my head scratching but then it's understood we need to know how we're taking the kerbs there & not just avoiding the barriers.
 
Wooooow, yikes, I am doing a no tire change race C and ended up behind P3 going into T1 around lap 8. A little too much draft and too little tire left and I slid right up into his door like a dummy, he only got knocked wide, very wide, thank goodness, I didn't know it then of course but P2 soon had some controller issue and ate wall like it was candy and P1 had not hit the pits yet. So happy I did not ruin his well deserved win and I came in for second.
Got my QT down before my next race and started P2. The start of Daytona scares the crap out of me as I can't easily spot a good braking marker, but I've still got it done all night and really stayed behind P1 which just kept my rear safe for the lap. Into the pits immediately with some one right with me. We come out in 14 and 15, wih him bump drafting me. Pit stops on the end of lap 5 had us right back up to 3rd and 4th, then 1st and second on lap 6. P2 had a wiggle and swapped with 3rd, who was good at timing the bus stop on the last lap. Felt like a sitting duck but I just did my thing and held on real low as he almost nipped me at the line with a difference of 0.098. A very nice win among drivers who were at the front in all my races tonight, and who knows when the next one will come. Good luck on Nations cup tomorrow!
 
Played a few Race B's some time back. Somehow felt in the groove with the Mazda3 & could even lower my qualy time to 1:48:754. Out of the 5 or 6 races I played, 75% of them I finished in the top 5 which I felt awesome about. It's just that I was no being untidy through CoD.

Amazing track + car combo...have said this so many times but can't help but appreciate. Will play some more later in the day but have already clocked 200kms in my races & qualy trials that come in between.

What a contrast in Race B races today!!!!!!!!!!

When I played a few races in noon, I enjoyed the tight & clean battles. It was where I finished in top 5 most of the times.

Come evening, came across a bunch of users who feel they own every turn & won't let their their skill dictate their racing but ego. Literally, every race I saw if two cars were side by side through a turn or approaching a turn, neither would want to yield. Instead, they'll try to shove each off to prove their might. And all this for random positions....

So many a times I let a user pass me if he's clearly faster than me. Even when side by side with another user through a turn, I will back off a little if I'm behind the other car. I won't try to muscle my way still. Also when fighting unnecessarily with a car by having contact or missing the turns due to late braking, the cars behind will catch up or even pass through.
 
I've been having an absolute laugh with Daily A.

Yesterday a player decided they didn't like me bump-drafting them on the straights, so break-checked me on the long straight, and then braked and decided to side-swipe me crossing the finish line. That debacle somehow gifted me a 3 second penalty despite my complete lack of steering input. Half a lap later and due to me having damage, they caught up with me and decided to try to punt me on the soft right after the hairpin, but instead glanced my back end and went off, somehow gifting me another 2 second penalty. I still finished 5 seconds ahead of the tool.

Today, coming up to the last hairpin on lap one, I'm mid-pack with a gaggle ahead of me. As we all brake, some twonk flies in no brakes and pinballs the lot of us. I come out with four corners of damage AND a 5 second penalty.

Yesterday's crapshoot dropped me to SR A, but today I got it back to S, and thankfully it hasn't dropped back down despite the illogical penalties.

Tsukuba is weird one, did 8 races, all 8 podiums... only 1 win tho.. Definitely can't keep pace with some people on DS4.. welp.. still best race this week IMO

You can't beat having a race this good with fine weather. I'd take it any old day. Have you tried using certain ghosts? That can help you improve your lap time. Just giving you some advice if you feel you need it. Ghosts can be distracting at times but it's doable. Just have faith and don't give up if you feel lost or can't do it yet.

no, I definitely can't match my times on ds4 vs me on wheel.. let alone very fast players .. my best lap times are around 1:06.5xx... even tho I didn't get good qualify time yet, only 1:06.8..

The racing is fine mostly but the odd lobby gets a little sweaty but it’s half term.

It is what it is although man those that “brake” before the COD do cause a lot of confusion, just lift if you need to people!

On a separate, sad note, late last night I hopped into a race and started in P2. Was keeping up well with P1 until a silly error (contact exiting the COD on the first lap) cost me a position. I drove well after but as faith would have it, luck was against me. The car which overtook me surprised me a few times by braking earlier, costing me momentum, but that's not what annoyed me.

He crashed twice in front of me and both times I had nowhere to go... I passed him after the first contact but with heavier damage than him (I think) because I did not really create a gap after, in fact, he was behind me the rest of the way.

On lap 4, he overtakes me again (clean pass) from slipstream. Straight after his overtake on Lap 4, I had the corner into the COD as we were side-by-side but I let him by to avoid yet another crash. But at the very end of the race, he spins out before the COD, with me once again right behind and collecting him and more damage. The hit even saved him as my car straightened his out! Unfortunately, seemed like my damage was more fatal as I was overtaken again heading to the last corner and my final move at the exit almost worked, but he took P2 with half a car-length...

Least I expected was for him to not attack and take my position at the very end after his mistake plus I actually kept him pointing the right way and saved him from dropping to the back of the grid 😫...

Oh well, at least I get to imagine Glen's smurk fading away as he sees the updated leaderboard 😜🤣😘

Lol you prob won because P2 is also active here and pitied you and let you win! I commend you @Schiaramone for having a good heart but he's not worth it 🤣

I hadn’t realised it was so tense actually bringing a win home (yeah I know it’s like nearly my 600th)

Actually what happened was we both know what racing is so we planned a 1-2 because he is a decent racer not just a TT specialist.

Also you know what will happen Sunday….🤣
 
I actually had a race too, like a race not a barge fest. Effectively one on one and after I sat onhis rear end for quite a while without tagging him he seemed to relax and knew I wouldn't barge past. Bit boring but here it is anyways.

Side note, yet again when I watch my own replays I seem to turn in too late, no idea why.

That was not boring, that’s what good racing is….clean and calculated and consistent. Literally all the bits you want. Yes it lacked some drama but I’d pick your race over drama every day of the week. Good racing.

You are leaving a little bit on the first uphill chicane short shifting so early and QT the COD is flat it’s the last few tenths when you get it right 👍 great race my friend!
 
I have been struggling at that first chicane yeah, cannot quite seem to mesh it all together. Are you saying I am shifting up too fast or down to 2nd too fast?

COD does my head in, no way i can do it flat I end up in the wall every damn time. Even QT.

On the uphill your line is great but break a fraction earlier and ride 2nd till you are passed the second apex (in QT, I race do whatever)

The cod shift early to fifth and turn in at or just before the gantry. In VR it’s almost a straight line BUT foot to the floor, worst that happens is you get a bounce on to the outer wall, but go again. It’s muscle memory that’s all it is.
