My QT was a 31.9, ok but I needed more. After rage quitting I thought, why not the porsche, ive seen it sprinkled a bit in the top 100. šŸ¤” Now, between gt sport and gt7, not once in any race I have entered has this car been able to compete, its just too slow. But let's try. Instantly felt fast, I can trail brake all day and she tucks her nose in nicely, just felt at home instantly. Quickly lopped off 1.1 seconds for a 30.8 with an optimal of 30.5.

Looking forward to tomorrow to see how she races.
It's a blast to drive, too. Was struggling to get it into the 31's, though, and knew I needed to be in the 30's before I even bothered to go racing. Tried the Lambo and thought it was doing great, then I crossed the line at 33.xxx so, nope, back to the family sedan. I don't really drive anything from the FF family until they make me, lol.

Now that I've acclimated to not having to brake until about A meter from the apex (j/k), I might go back to it. It's just fun to throw around.😁

Good luck!

Today again I raced around 850kms of St. Croix. Mostly raced with (my META) Mercedes AMG Gr3 '20. As said earlier, it's a bit stiffer than the M6 but a lot more stable which gives me confidence & pleasure while racing around this lovely track.

If I'm amidst two or three drivers battling tough against each other, I back out of their battle instead of taking part in it & risking a spin or punt. It's happened nearly every race that the drivers ahead of me hit into each other on purpose or because of car getting loose which then triggers bump fest. I gain at least 4 or 5 positions like this apart from trying to be consistent in lap times.

I even find it sad that if a driver in a battle ends up spinning into the barrier or kitty litter, he will rather quit the game instead of continuing the race. I feel it's not that the driver is short of hope or confidence to continue racing but I feel as if the driver's ego has been hurt & he can't stand finish in the bottom ranks.

It’s typically a mixture of things

1. The reality is that it doesn’t ā€œmatterā€ that much to some people, it’s just a game. That’s a fair (and frankly less stressful way to approach it)

2. In long races some people don’t want to waste 25 mins circulating on their own which let’s be honest is quite boring and could be using that time to QT better rather than an unmotivated ā€œhope I finish before the race timer endsā€

3. Frustrated, upset, annoyed or genuinely need to walk away. There might be some/a lot of ego but typically it will be more emotionally lead than ego. Again in this situation they probably aren’t mentally in the place to try a recovery. It’s especially frustrating if you start at the front and are taken out early and left a loooooong way back.

I genuinely think this a problem you will never be able to solve as ultimately it’s a game and someone exchanging time and effort for fun or immersion and if they aren’t getting the return on either of those, the motivation to continue will always hit the floor.

Yeah it is fun, feels very alive like the other MR cars but points it's nose better than the Citroen and doesn't give me the willies on entry in the middle sector the way the Lambo does. I do suspect that with a better driver the Lambo is still faster though. But i think a mid 30 lap is competitive in DR-B and DR-A rooms.

I think the cayman is a solid choice as it drives in a way that feels most ā€œrealā€ which translates in to how good the times you guys are posting in it.

The Lambo has some real benefits in that the AWD traction and the gearing really suits this place. The downsides are there are 2 corners it’s particularly weak and unbalanced (I find this odd for a few reasons but I assume it’s PD Blackbox stuff doing its thing) but over a well driven lap and if you can drive or control the moments it’s the top car for the combo but only just.

Got home from work and did my daily mileage and managed to sneak in to the 29s but the optimum is promising

Yeah 29 is beyond me, that's hustling. WHat two corners are you feeling the Lambo tough to deal with? For me it's entry to Pouhon and entry to the esses, I instinctively trail brake into these corners and the rear snaps hard, if I don't trail brake I seem to lose shed tons of time. I am a bit ham fisted though, someone with subtler inputs will manage just fine.

You know that bit where I said I don’t like Spa, give me a second to go get the names of them 🤣

After a google it’s Pouhon and Campus (the essess) with Pouhon the hardest to consistently manage the snap.

With that corner it’s not trail braking more weight management and timing the downshift to help with that.

Campus is just for me being too late on the brakes.

So here’s a funny one, had a win at Spa today which was cool because I didnt have a win for a little while, some weird glitch as I passed him put him into the wall but I got a clean race star and he congratulated me so no idea

I managed to get me time down to a 2.30.7xx and see a few are doing really well this week, in a number of different cars.

This is just a PSA

This is the reason you need to get passed brake markers!

Gr4 you aren’t lifting, braking put you take it flat otherwise the Gr4 won’t make it to the top of the hill! Those things lie to you!

I don’t use them all the time tbh I think I just haven’t taken it off since I did a race at WG Monday night

Mostly the markers aren’t far away from where tidgeny markers are and it’s easier for me to push into it rather than look sideways at a marker, I don’t brake at the bottom of eau rouge

Mate that wasn’t at you at all as you are fast and having them on off etc doesn’t matter as you ignored it AS YOU SHOULD THERE! You know the pace and the drill.

It was just a really good screen shot to show that you can’t trust these things, including brake zone markers, apex markers or driving lines.

They don’t respect the reality but are fixed overlays and even the apex markers stay fixed regardless of which apex you are trying to hit or the actual line you are on.

It’s a much wider thing but the way they condition people on how/when to brake is part of a massively systemic problem with GT7 racecraft online and single player.

Yes some of those are way stupid 😁

But when I’m really on it and I need extra time it all comes off and I’m using a top 10 ghost and I’m really pushing.

I’m enjoying chasing the times at Spa but the racing is a little meh

Could be worse though, could be playing Rennesport or PMR 🤣

Not touching either with my barge pole or yours 🤣

Brutal night in race b, the porsche is a magnet for barge passing, all three races are relentless barge passes, though one was a rear end punt from the lead. Nice work dingleberry. Idiotic driving.

I dont understand why the Cayman just gets eaten alive down Kemmel, my top speed is similar to what I was seeing in the lambo but it was like I was carrying an anchor, guys were coming from 8 or 9 tenths back and passing me.

Today for the first time I broke the 1000km barrier in daily target distance.

Today my first 3 races were awesome where I made up places to get on the podium. Was in my preferred Mercedes AMG GR3 '20 car.

Despite racing so many kms, I'm still not mentally exhausted because I'm digging St. Croix so much. My fingers are a bit aching though. Will still play this the next 3 days but lesser perhaps due to F1 Qatar Grand Prix weekend.

Crikey that’s 630miles, on my best (wife’s worst) day I think I’ve got to about 200 miles or 320km!

That’s some dedication man šŸ‘

Thanks Mate. Not only this but at night I even watch streamed races of Race C (St. Croix) by esteemed GT players such as Sammysnake racing, Digit racing & Calster (who's the fastest controller player). Seeing their gameplay & inputs in general just keeps inspiring to want to try even more. I'm racing so much just because of this track. I prefer the Gr. 4 cars over Gr. 3 as I'm just an average driver. I haven't touched Race B (Gr. 4) even once because St. Croix just makes me smile endlessly even if in a particular race I'm last. Just love driving there irrespective of the result I get.

St. Croix along with the FR based Mercedes AMG GR3 '20 car somehow suit my driving style & makes me feel competitive to race with confidence. I always use Tidgney's ghost for qualy trials which I still haven't seriously put my mind into.

@Famine I'm correct in saying there's no way for me to appeal this nonsense, right?
Correct; 30 days also suggests a repeat offence. Is the warning worded any different to the usual "content you have uploaded"?

Have you got a link to your profile? There might be something you've uploaded but not realised (because it's often not obvious).

Yes I've had a 5-day ban before. I was similarly stumped on that occasion. The only things I EVER upload are race replays and those are just for myself for posterity. As I mentioned in the original post, i had to bypass language filters to permit my upload by changing "launched" to "launchd" in my replay description. (and it's not for the first time I've come up against a nonsensical filter activation). It was right after this that my notification arrived.

The previous time i got a ban, i strongly suspected it was for a spurious Report button usage, which I obviously have quit doing since. Now I'm not so sure that's what it was.

Here's a link to my profile. It even had to find a workaround to get this URL because my account is totally locked down.

TIA

Edit. I do realise this is slightly off-topic, but the issue has emerged within the Daily Race environment.

Could also be stickers that you put on your car, or just in the menu where you can choose them. It doesn't matter if you uploaded it or you took it from someone else. Or your nickname. I hate this topic, being treated like in kindergarten.

I had my first races last night. I could not get a good qt time either at race C, B or the league race. I was to excited to be honest. ST. croix is really lovely to me, so fast. And even Spa in the gr. 4 was not boring at all. My times are not worth mentioning.
And my races in Spa, were predictable. Me starting as BS, first 5-6 spots occupied by DR A and A+ next a Dr D Sr C, I was 8th. Clean race me in Scirocco finish 8th. I only want to mention something. Another race b me in Citroƫn. Last lap. Me 11th, another Citroƫn had an easy overtake, cause I went a bit too fast into the right hander after the straight with "eau rouge" (don't laugh, i don't know the real name, red water is wrong i guess, can't look it up now) but i kept on the tail of the other Citroƫn. I would never have touched it, but 2 corners before the penalty marker he lost it under breaking (he breaked way to hard). I still made it, no touch.... The Lamborghini behind me, could stop touched my behind a littlle, i touched the Citroƫn in front of me a littlle, like playing tag. We all kept our positions. Coming out of the final chicane, in front of the finish line. He slammed the breaks. Can you believe it. Break checking on the last lap, position 11, right in front of the finish so i shoot him over the line.... But i didn't. Before I realized what's happening, he was ghosted, me over the line, the lambo over the line and then mr. Evil.

Thought I’d have a change today and try race A, boy was that a bad idea. A full room of BA & BS and you wouldn’t think it, me and the leader started well, I tried not to pass first lap in case I annoyed but my bump draft was met with a brake test and from there I was battered left and right like I was the stranger in a room of drunk friends.

I think Spa will be on the menu this weekend, but I’ve a lot to do house and Xmas decorations so it’s all good.

Nearly there

Shame! My alter ego would love to see a familiar name over at The Glen!

I feel like the Soft tyres do allow for a certain amount of flexibility and 'persuasiveness' with this tricky car.

In most of the races I've been in so far, the top of the grid has had someone dropped off for the same reasons (myself included), but they/we always seem to use the 7 lap duration to its full potential and regroup by the end.

One win so far.
