Just ran the Jaguar in Race C, it’s a real sleeper, great race pace and acceleration. Anyone tried it?

Calster who's the fastest controller player in his Youtube video of Race C at St. Croix play said F-Type is a good car to try as long as You can handle the bumps. His race was amazing as he was in the Suzuki Gr.3 car which also is amazing to try out.

Yeah, not sure what's going on there, had a similar experience. Simply got swallowed by everything else. It has the speed, it can put down the times. Does not compute.

I started P6 in my race and was SUPER close to rage-quitting by lap 2, lol. Thanks to some welcome drop-outs I was able to capture P12 for glory. You just get run down, over and through. Got comfy with the G70 and haven't put the Porsche out there since.🤣

It's true, i had Porsches starting from top 5, but all got run down. A shame. Maybe they have extra big gasoline tanks. Instead of carrying +40kg of gasoline compared to qualifying they have to deal with 70kg. Just an idea.

Today even covered 720kms playing Race C. The reason I'm playing to my heart's content is because this is one of those rare tracks where I feel I am decent competitive as it suits my driving style. Plus the car even helps me in this case.

As You can see almost all race with M6. There's not much difference between the M6 & The Mercedes AMG GT3 '20 car when it comes to hp. The M6 is easier to maneuver but this also makes it a little unstable on the bumps & slow corner exits. The Mercedes is a bit stiffer but very stable. I rarely will get a power oversteer in the Mercedes which I see so many drivers face in the M6.

And that is what's wrong. Nobody is choosing by heart but what is supposed to be more competitive.
I honestly think, that secretly some are dreaming to become a celebrity and a movie about his gt career will be shot.

I've had a few TTs in races and they're very fast on the straights - maybe not so good in the twisty bits. Oddly for Gr4, I've had up to 6 different cars in the top 10 with wins by TT, G70, Huracan and 458.

Still chasing a win myself though

The "trick" with the TT lies on its gearbox ratios.
That 5th gear pulls like crazy, you dont need 6th gear at all.

Not the best car for qualy but in race is an excellent choice.
I overtook lambos, G70s and Citroens in Kemmel and Blanchimont with it.

As with all things it all “depends” I think the TT is a fast car. It hasn’t once won a race in my lobbies, they are all Hurracans winning or the fast NSX guys, in the early phase the TT does well but in race it all sort of starts to match so race behaviour kicks in, when you get to a a place where it’s positioned focused rather than race focused.

3 races yesterday, all won by TTs.

Edit. Couple of races in and I’ve dropped a couple of places per race but the TT pulls like a freight train in the straight, just not quite used to it yet and getting caught between gears in some sections, but good racing so far and almost back to BS

Edit 2. Won the third, started pole and dropped back to third, two in front scraped themselves out and the followers kept getting pens when reaching me 🤣

Will miss ST. Croix when it gets replaced by another track on Monday. Somehow this week's Race C has served me well enough to lift my DR from B to A. This is only because I'm able to be at speed on this track. Once new tracks come on Monday, my DR may fall back to B.

Today I tried something different. Instead of pitting on Lap 5 which I would always do, I kept pitting on Lap 4 instead. This in turn would help me undercut a few cars always that would be ahead of me. I even managed to win one race because of this strategy.

I put in some time in qualy for Race C & was able to go faster by about half a second.

I really miss the Gr. 4 cars especially my favorites like Audii TT Cup & Mazda3 which can be currently used in Race B at Spa. I've not even raced once here because no way will I skip St. Croix while it's there.

A: 25k
B: 56k
C: 42k

I think IIRC correctly this is about a 30k down cumulatively for the races.

4 hypothesises I could think of:

1: spec 3 has people re exploring the single player game again

2: general lifecycle drop off (hence a spec 3)

3: A is tricky, B maybe a bit of Gr4 and Spa fatigue and C while largely enjoyed by those who do it the track could be polarising

4: time of year, school terms are on the final run down, work is starting to phase in to thinking about Xmas ramp ups or shutdowns and holidays.

It will be interesting how much they really shake up Sports mode on Wed/Thur. although if they wanted to keep to the current event cycles I would have expected a Monday update rather than mid event cycle

Isn't the spec 3 going to affect or bring changes to the weekly challenge races & not the daily ones? I hope if they do.

All of the GT Gurus who livestream their daily race plays or lap guides such as Tidgney, SammySnakeRacing, DigitRacing, Calster etc. were happy that St. Croix finally got featured in a daily race. It's a splendid track. My most favorite track + variation is St. Croix C anticlockwise. I can drive this track + variation for 24 hours straight.

Just a few days more for the big update. I'm looking forward to utilizing the Data Logger feature because I in general lack confidence on certain tracks. So the data logger will help me find time + performance. Also looking forward to Abu Dhabi but I would've preferred Jeddah or Baku over Canada.

They specifically called out changes to sports mode, what that is we have yet to see but it was prominent enough to have a bullet point on the early PR, we will see.

I’m not doubting that but they are not reflective of the player base and where the majority sit in that.

They all have one thing in common, they are extremely fast and race with each other a lot of the time so naturally the racing is fairer and the challenge of new stuff more relevant to them.

They are people we aspire to for pace and their racing, that is not the reality for most people who play sport mode.

This was a fun run...most of them have been at Spa this week. Racing has been close and clean, for the most part, and there's been a nice variety of cars on the grids.

Take this one for instance...a Suzuki Swift was on pole. Maybe I should call it THE Suzuki Swift as it's the only one I ever see and it's always the same pilot. Took two laps to hunt him down (qt'd @ 1:30.4xx!!) and three of us ended-up in a fun battle for P1:

That was a good watch mate, congrats on the win, it is great seeing so many different cars out there competing but a Suzuki is a new one.

Spa came out of nowhere this week, didn’t think I was going to enjoy racing there but managed 3 or 4 wins and back to high BS,

A good thing is that penalties are deciding races rather than poor driving standards 😁

Started my Sunday & St Croix's final day on a positive note. In the 5 races I've played now, I managed to win twice, get a podium in one & came 4th in the other two. This is not trying to be bashful but just pointing out how the track + car combo can work wonders.

In one of he races I won, the 2nd, 3rd & 4th placed users were fighting with each other which helped me in building a gap to them. As done yesterday, pitting on lap 4 is more beneficial than lap 5 for a tactical advantage. On lap 9, it's not like the tyres are fully shot to have no grip. I put the theory that pitting one lap earlier (lap 4) makes practical sense because as the race keeps moving on, the car is losing weight too by burning fuel. So the tyres won't get that worn as they would in the first 4 laps due to having more fuel.

In the race below who's classification I've posted, Stephan74 could've won the race & I in 2nd. We both pitted on lap 4 with him being ahead of me by a second. He was trying to overtake a low placed car (Chato) & they kept barging into another where the end result was Stephan74 spun out & I won.

Luck even plays a big role in getting a good result. Plus, I don't come in the way of an overtake being made on me or if a faster user is about to overtake me. When defending in either scenario, not only you lose time but even there's a bigger risk of getting punted. Tyre wear too gets worse when fighting it out for too long. I try to have clean races with satisfactory results as that's what I wish to get from online racing.

P.S. - Won't be playing today anymore as wanted to end my St. Croix experience on a positive note as I won my most recent Daily C Race there some time back. Will miss St. Croix.

Well that’s me done for the weekend, managed another win today, but some superb racing all in all, in the Audi TT, I even got beaten by 2nd place when I started from pole and a guy from yesterday I beat a couple of times, just great clean racing.

I could of improved my time but I just enjoyed the racing too much

Hope you all had a Stella weekend racing, let’s see what tomorrow brings.
