I mean none of them look particularly appealing. Fuji is the worst racing tarmac on the planet, Yas is built specifically for F1 and races like garbage in anything else, and Daily A is Daily A :D

Race B is an absolute **** show, just utter chaos as @brockie pointed out. Nice to see you at lunchtime even though you had a rough time 🙉
I will upload a video from this morning, it was just a disgrace
Anyway, i decided to give that damn porsche another go in VR to see could i get to grips with it. First i decided to do the Yas circuit experience as i have no experience of racing there at all. Managed gold on my very first attempt with the 296 so went straight in to do some laps chasing Tidgney's ghost. To say the track limits are harsh is an understatement, they are brutal.
As you can tell, i was getting a bit frustrated 🤣🤣🤣
There is definitely a high 53 in me, i just need to have a break. I am actually beginning to enjoy driving the 911 GT3, it is incredibly stable on corner exit, you can really get the power down so much better than the RSR. I am not brave enough to try a race with it yet though 🤣🤣

Worst tarmac? Do you mean the actual track surface?

The opposite of championship track limits must be ‘Nascar on road course’ track limits! If you’ve ever seen them take T1 at Watkins Glen you’ll know what I mean!

I just hate driving Fuji lol I think it's a badly designed track that races very poorly.

I know exactly what you mean about the Cup track limits at every RC they go to. It's so funny that they can enforce limits at Daytona, Atlanta, and Talladega but have no idea how to enforce limits anywhere else.

It's not just RC for Cup it's any track with a wide apron that cars can run on. Look at Phoenix, Kansas, Vegas, and others of the same design. Every lap you'll see dozens of drivers below the white lines.

Tracks need limits and I prefer them to be enforced by either barriers or surfaces that absolutely cannot be run on. I also understand safety is a thing and so oceans of tarmac get used instead. I'm just saying you don't have limits issues if there's no track outside the limits to drive on :D

I like Fuji, it’s a track that is flowing and precise, that for me makes it very fun because it’s the exits that matter not the late braking.

On the limits thing, I really don’t agree, do a few laps find the penalties and then drive around them. The barriers are mental not physical at that point.

If you are running that wide then maybe your corner approach needs to be reshaped not the immovable constant track?

The worst thing about online racing is when you brake early, to give respect to the car in front of you, while the car behind you can't grasp the concept.

That video is just total trash, I particularly love the way you get hurt by all the push passing so the mob decides you are a fish missing a fish and ripe to be eaten. All that contact should have been punished, the game allows way, way, way too much contact.

Or you are having a decent battle with a guy, taking time to pass him clean so it feels like, you know, actual racing, then schmukko sidles up from 4 seconds back, only catch you both because you're both taking non-ideal lines in your little duel, and just barges his way past you both.

Well Race A isn’t too bad, think I’ll spend the week there, can’t say it’s going to keep me all week, but for sure B I won’t be doing again!
Is it me or is race A one of the easiest DRs in a while? I just won 3 of these in a row. Granted my Q time was very good but nothing too different than what the licenses (gold) have taught us about Trial Mountain.

unpopular opinion but I really like race C.
The new Porsche is perfect for my driving style and I really like the stricter track limits. There is literally no room for mistakes. Has a B driver I was really surprised I had managed a Q lap that putted in the top 1000. It made me start P1 on my first race which I then proceeded to win. I think it was only because I don’t try to push too hard and instead focus on keeping it between the lines. It boosted my DR to A (first time ever) and then got in an all A lobby where I started p2. Finished p2 there.
I don’t know how long I will stay drA though…

Again, I've made some tweaks to the layout this week, so please let me know how it feels for you :D

I think I'll move the boilerplate/overview image back to the end because it feels too crowded with not-prose at the top but... feh.
Last week was already a very nice update, but now it's even more logical with the images / headers on top of the texts. It feels like it is more text now than before (more than 1 week before)? But I like digesting the info.

Yeah raced at Fuji, decent pace but the nature of the track means it always looks like the apex is wide open when it really isnt and you get a lot of contact. The concept of establishing some overlap seems lost on people, if we all dive for every apex we will be taking defensive lines all race which is dog slow.

Yeah, I race from the back and it seems like a lot of online drivers are having difficulty with the slow weight shifting of a road car. So you just have to get them off of the racing line and you'll see some weird turn ins and weight juggling when they try to survive the corner.

Personally, I like the car. You can overdrive it without losing too much speed, which allows for some playful car placement to mess with people. A lot of V-turns to block the outside or drifting on the inside to pass. It's been fun.

Who really race in A? It's a waste of spot
To be honest this is one of the better uses of the slot, it teaches car control and braking in a lively torque laden car.

I’m racing in daily A as I like the practice with challenging cars and extracting the pace and getting better at car control? What are you racing?
Pffffffffft - race B is making me think that this could be a week for making liveries.
Errrr ok, don’t think I’m gonna do B or C this week and well that’s just TM for me but it will be fleeting at best…roll on the new time trial!

I’m with you there, trial mountain is lots of fun, mistakes are happening for all throughout so lots of places are changing and touch wood it’s been really clean.

It won’t last all week and the TT will help tide me over.

12 laps at yas marina I must say doesn’t excite me but I’ll be happy to take it as it comes.

A lean week you could say, but you can’t have it all 😁

First race of the week

But it’s a bit skewed because this is a challenging combo that a lot of people won’t do because it takes control and finesse and even I find that tricky and I’m 1s off the pace!

Overall a good race, I have .5 to go find in race B and not doing C so the last throw of the week is A and maybe a few Bs

I race with race cars, cars made for this reason...

Every car is meant to be raced some are harder than others.

Racing isn’t about cars meant to race it’s about you can race anything and adapt.

57 chevvys weren’t meant to be raced but they were, fiesta xr2s were road weapons, 205 gtis, scoobies

Im slightly confused by your point? I can race an ironing board of I need to. You are separating racing from the tools and frankly that’s the wrong way to look at racing.

Do what you can with what you have, that’s racing the rest is blaming everything else but not learning

And he was missing the whole ethos of the game from day 1 of the original game that we of a certain age grew up with 🤣 Basically tuned road cars

What annoyed me more is that i made the effort to give space and still get punted around. Granted, the Citroen was probably not the best car to use in the race but come on, that was just crazy. I am certainly not the fastest of people but give some space 🤣 Funnily enough, i do a lot of LMU and we are often around here and even as a gold rated trusted driver i still do the beginner LMGTE races around there and its never as bad. I know the track well and generally do well in those races in higher splits with very few incidents like this. Shame really because i really enjoyed Suzuka last week but this is reminding me why i stopped playing Gt7 for so long 👍
