It’s amazing how much joy I am getting from finishing 6th or 7th in race B, starting 14th is tough going to keep some DR increasing going. I haven’t really been able to keep improving my time, hopefully at Brands next week I can have a time which starts me a few more places ahead 😁

So dirty out there this afternoon. I just renewed my ps+ subscription. Starting to regret it.

DR B racers surely know full well if they continue on the line they're on its going to wipe someone out yet they do it anyway. :banghead:

Lost my touch at the CoD last night. Tried to do another few today and every lap was either into the wall in some way or just too slow to be competitive. Both races started in the top 5 and both races finished 11th or lower.

Gonna just call it for the week and start new Monday.
Ah mate this exact thing happened to me mid week and just couldn't take it at all throughout the night, was having to drop down to 115mph go get through, then the next day I was back to flat/slight lift! it will come back :)

That was some sweet driving to avoid all the carnage, the double take on the inside in the turn before COD was smooth!!!!

yeah it's riveting trying to get into those positive DR spots!!! I assume you were too quick in B and each race was a bit of an anti climax?

Really torn between where to race next week, I really enjoy the longer race C's but this week with all of us in B, swapping times, stories, seeing each other in lobbies has been fantastic!!!!!

Ah mate - unfortunately the dirty lobbies are the price we pay to have the highs of the good races unfortunately, always a few wallys out there!!!! but before you know it you will land back in some clean lobbies with hard driving! Also with your pace you're going to be in A lobbies any week now!!!

This has been my best week so far in GT7, have picked up just shy of 14k DR points to get myself up to closing in on 34k so fingers crossed that's enough of a buffer if I have a bad week next week, but planning on having a belter :) going try and get another 6 or 7 races in after I put the kids to bed, but that could all be hangover dependent as a Chinese and slobbing on the sofa may steal me away

Yeah it’s been a really good week and loads better when the GTP group is chasing times together! I’ve really tried a few times to improve, hit a 47.8 a couple of times but still no improvement 😁

At least I’m starting 8th though and getting dr increased every race today, so all good bro

Edit, just got a p5 from a p8 start and 500 dr points!

Did catch the wall last corner and p6 being 2.3secs away gave me a fright! 😁 been up that high a few times but the seem to catch me again, this time not

I’m not looking for vindication, genuinely want to learn to get better/cleaner so don’t pull any punches if I’ve been a jerk

It's been a blast overall. I'm normally a hot lapper (more like lukewarm in GT7 😆) but I've combined the time trialling with actual racing and it's been a nice change.

Is race B always Gr3 or Gr4? I want to prepare a livery for next week. Also, any idea what car in each of those groups will likely be competitive at Brands Hatch?

Not at all mate, sometimes those cuts don’t bounce you, sometimes they do, then you bounced into him, harsh on him but not intentional so just a racing incident and unlucky on him 😬

@Lightsider74 usually it swaps between gr3&4 but you never know 😁 I’d say the G70/Renaukt megane sport maybe hopefully the Audi TT is the meta

Been great this week, I don’t do race C because it’s too long I like the sprint races, it pushes you to keep improving your QT

Racing incident imho. I don't think you were quite far enough ahead to say the inside line was yours 100%. It's possible the other car couldn't see you. That's something I struggle with racing bumper cam.

Looked like you were basically just a passenger at the actual moment of impact due to the bounce.

However I bet it felt like dirty driving to the other car. Most of the times I get punted off is when another car dive bombs down the inside and out brakes themselves then uses me as brake assist.

Given how easy it is to control Group 4 cars, the other guy could've given himself much more of a chance if he had stayed a bit wider rather than inevitably losing the fight for the apex.

That’s a 50/50 IMHO, you did bounce but he also did try to side swipe you. Hindsight is a wonderful but perhaps you would have taken his place later in the race if patience is a weapon of choice.
As before I think it’s 1 of those racing incidents.
Keep going mate you are way past me already and heading towards a sound Dr A 💪🏻🥳

Gets my vote, I was racing yesterday and saw a name I know is a dirty driver and even stated that to Mrs B. Low and behold she couldn’t believe how nasty he was as we raced and followed him.
He side swiped and grunged his way through to 2nd and lost some SR but ruined other racers race.
We should name and shame imho so they stop and improve their racing style 👨🏻‍🎓or at least we know who to be wary of 👊🏻

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This player and others like them are quick enough to win without being dirty. It's like they're fighting a person war on society in their own little world. IDK maybe someone stole an ice cream from them when they were a child or they simply are a child.

Thanks for the replies on the vid guys - I felt that I had the line and he didn't adjust his for me being there, but then I felt terrible the rest of the race because he quit out. Trying to work out what is hard and what is over the line as at the moment I think I am actually missing some overtaking opportunities because I am so against dive bombing that I back out of things when I have my nose next to them. Oh well, always something to learn :)

500 DR points is a bloody lovely little boost, feels like a win when you're hovering near the drop doesn't it!!!

Had one last race before bed and I think the COD knew it so it ate me up and spat me out and gave me a P16 34 seconds behind P1 lol.

I think I've decided it will be brands hatch next week, this whole week has just been too much fun with everyone on here!!!!

It's been great to have you in as part of it all for some extra added competition, as I said to Brockie, this week on here with the racing and commentary has been a belter!

They chop and change the Grades each week mate, they even through in some GR2 sometimes.

No mate, and probably for the best as I can imagine it could be a slippery slope (FYI I did at the start and was quite rightly explained not to). I also don't think it would do much as unlikely they're on here as GTP breeds fair drivers I think. What would be amazing is if PD implemented an AI review tool where you could report someone for dirty driving and then AI runs it through a model and they get a retrospective SR loss of penalty at the start of the next race etc.... think that would be the only way to clean things up. But no point losing too much sleep over (I say this from someone that absolutely loses his mind when it happens to me, but I know it's not good).

I feel it's a dirty tactic but IDK any more as it happened to me so often today. Like every race. I'm finishing 10th or below today instead of my usual top 5. DR bleeding heavily with a sprinkle of SR bleed thrown in.

To add to this, sometimes I feel like I have to wait for them to re pass me, I think only you know when that is, when it’s fair to do, I did it the other day, waited until the whole field passed then he just went in the pits 😁 I guess the sentiment is there
I always wait for them to retake the position if I'm sure mistake was mine. Damage is often done by then so probably isn't much of a consolation.

Were bang with you mate, the only time I’ll accept a dive bomb is when they slip through without a touch, A+ do this, you’re just about to scream at them and suddenly it’s clean as a whistle,

All you can do is race how you want to be raced, let the idiots go because they come a croppa eventually

Easier said than done 😁

And we are human so stuff happens right? As long as the intentions are there we can only try 🙏

Just had my first GT7 MP rage-quit. Done with that shizzle today.

Did some circuit experience at Brands instead. (On my own. Without fear of braking at the turns. Quite an eye opener really.) 🤪

Yeah I do that as well if the mistake is my fault, but to be honest where I'm overly cautious I'm not having too many issues like that (which is why I'm starting to feel I'm leaving places on the table in the race). My mistake is usually missing my braking point and tapping the behind of someone ( as @Lightsider74 can attest to :lol:) which is easily rectified by just lifting off or giving a bump draft.

No I don't think dive bombing where you hit the other car acceptable at all, but it seems like it is very common with Europeans so not sure if culturally in the way they race it's seen as hard but fair?

From the videos i've been watching to understand it, the general rule seems to be if your nose is alongside the rear wheel then the inside of the corner is yours and they have to adjust their line. Also from watching A+ lobby streamers race, it seems if they have a ton more speed coming into a corner then diving the inside and getting out with no contact as @brockie says seems a legit move.

haha - I'm laughing as I'm seeing you have the exact same roller coaster I had at the beginning! Be careful on the rage quit, I did this a few times in a row and my SR took a battering down to B and then I was in some awful lobbies and it just exasberated the problem and was a real struggle to get back up.

The circuit experiences are great aren't they, only discovered them properly last week and made a massive difference to learning the track.

No sure about this. Well, I'm obviously happy if they can make the pass on the inside cleanly but if adjusting my line means having to go off track then I don't see how it can be right. I could concede the corner very early but that causes problems with getting rear ended as if other cars are involved they wouldn't be expecting me to brake that early.
I only watch F1 and iirc the inside car has to be further ahead than having their nose alongside the other cars rear wheel to claim the corner. Will maybe look into it further.

RACE C - Kyoto Driving Park Yamagiwa Reverse - 15 laps - Gr 4

Racing Hards for race B - hoping it isn't going to be too slippy
