Very nice indeed, I wonder what the meta will be in race B, would love a week of Porsche cup racing šŸ™šŸ˜
Just been watching Sparks this morning and it does look like a fun course, looks a bit too easy to slide off and make a mistake tho :ill:

Will be my first foray into GR 3 at a high level, think I last raced GR 3 in C lobbies.

I wasn't condemning the rage quit as I've done it tons, I was just saying, it really bit me in the ass when I dropped my SR and was miserable trying to get it back up with SR B lunatics and actually got knocked down to SR C for a while.
I know mate. I very rarely rage quit but this particular incident was the straw that broke the camels back!

I didn't mind the carnage so much when I started out in the low SR ratings. Fully expected it as its most likely just kids messing around.

Any idea on the meta for Brands? I hope it's the Italia!

I dropped a couple of mil on some Gr.3 cars yesterday evening.

Did you make some spicy liveries as well?

Seems like the 911 from what I've been watching mate.

No Liveries yet. Definitely not "spicy" ones lol!

I might stick my Texaco one on the Porsche šŸ˜‚. It's easy to do and looks reasonable. Although I do fancy having a go at a "Total" themed one. I'll see how it goes, I'm no artist.

I know this isn't F1 and just a game but these are the rules I try to play by and naively expect from others.

(I've edited out DRS and Flag rules)
  1. Safe and Unimpeded Overtaking: Drivers are allowed to overtake as long as they do so safely and do not impede other drivers. This means that overtaking should occur when there is a clear opportunity, and drivers must avoid contact with the car they are passing.

  2. Giving Room: When overtaking, drivers must leave enough space for the car being overtaken. This means that the overtaking driver should not force the other driver off the track and must ensure that both cars can navigate the corner safely.

  3. Cornering Rules: If a driver is attempting to overtake on the inside of a corner, they must have their front wheels level with the defending car's wing mirrors by the apex of the corner. Conversely, if overtaking from the outside, the overtaking car must be ahead at the apex to claim the corner.

  4. Avoiding Unfair Advantages: Drivers are prohibited from cutting corners or leaving the track to gain an advantage during an overtake. If a driver leaves the track, they must rejoin safely and without gaining a lasting advantage.

This is the UK premier race track mate, like a mini Spa I would say on the opposite direction 😁

What cars are being used, anyone putting any time in yet?

Edit. Oops just read it, yes a week of Porsche cup it is

Are you getting back at lunch for a race? Let us know how it is!

Thinking low 1.25's are needed to be competitive

Hmm. That's a worry then. I ran a couple of laps in the Ferrari yesterday and my best was 1.30.

I know the track well but not in GT7.

My DR B already dropped to 38% from a high of 44% after yesterday's fiasco.

Don't take that as gospel as it was incredibly crude maths - I just think to be competitive in A you need to be within 1 - 1.5 seconds of the world best time which is 1.23.753 and I am basing this off a huge sample size of one daily race at dragon trail last week

For the weeks I was in B - I found being in and around the top 2,000 globally was competitive and that was usually 2-2.5 seconds from the top time.

But as I said this is completely subjective on a tiny sample size!

Holy moly, I jumped into a daily after a year or even more, when I stopped I was A+/S, just barely managed to squeeze into the time slot for daily C, started 13th, finished 13th  no pace whatsoever but also zero practice or quali... And tried one daily B, much more fun, started P16, finished P8, with only one or two proper overtakes, so many crashes and spins due to grass touching, it was very fun so I think I'm going to stick to B this week :D

Welcome (back) to hell! šŸ˜‚

Did a race on Yamagiwa. Liked it! There's quite some tire wear to deal with. Started and finished P2 in the Citroen. My tt is a 1:43:1. P1 also had the Citroen but was more messy than me, I could overtake due to put strategies. P6 was a Swift and he rocked it all the way to P1.

Only downside: the entry period for the next race was 5 seconds gone. So no back to back racing sadly. The leader did a 26m 40s race, a minute later everyone was in. This was just to slow. It's worse if the server has a slow start in the beginning.

But from higher B lobbies and onwards it is probably quick enough to snuck directly into a new race.

There's always someone who can race that little Swift like an absolute rocket. I don't know how they do it.

Is this the daily races? If so 20% wins is an outrageous and win percentage, and I’m not even going to comment on 32/48 top 5’s!! Absolutely smashing it!!!

Yeah looks like it’s going to be a slim fest on hards with the grass!!! Going to make it an interesting week

I saw Sammy snake just miss the cut off for the next race earlier in top splits so they have 100% messed up the timings on that!!

How’s everyone finding B so far? I’ve only put 2 laps in but my goodness this is deffo not the GT 4 atenza, my lead foot is getting me in all sorts of trouble šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

Spent some time in circuit experience which helps so much learning a new track!!

I reckon B is going to be a little crazy until ppl learn how to race it, bit like Monza, there is ppl flying off over the place, it’s going to take some getting used to, after my two races in the new 911 I am 30019 DR points so I think I’ll drop back to B and stay there 😁

As the week evolves it should be fun

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This player and others like them are quick enough to win without being dirty. It's like they're fighting a person war on society in their own little world. IDK maybe someone stole an ice cream from them when they were a child or they simply are a child.
Can't name and shame people. But, you CAN post replays. If those replays happen to include names/tags, well, that's an unfortunate byproduct of the technology. SAY NOTHING. After all, the replay should be curated to a point of not requiring clarification anyway...😁

PS - If I've misunderstood da rulz in this regard, apologies and I'll go back under the rock I emerged from.šŸ‘

I'm not sure I like any of the options this week. I can get a time in the Valkyrie somewhere around 3:17-18 but in race trim I can't figure out how to manage the battery enough to finish in the top 5.

I think this is one race where wheel users have a clear cut advantage over non and that's fine.

I dislike Brands. It's just not a track I can get comfortable with.

Kyoto backwards in GT4 cars doesn't sound like the best time ever but it's probably better than the other two :D

Is for Race C, a 2 stopper quicker? Some dudes did this in my races and they were still quite on the top of the list.
Hmmm I don't know. I was lapping quite consistently within 2 tenths or something with aging tires. Only the last 2 laps were +1 sec slower. An extra pitstop seems an awful lot of time to have to make up.

mh, ok. I lost 5s in the last laps of the stint, because the FL was completely gone.

Maybe it was a "special" lobby :D But I think it could be a try worth.

Don't ever call out a country for less than stellar driving either. You'll get banned for a week.

Don't ask me how I know :D
But how do you know?

Anyway. I'm Running a few (ok a lot) of practice qually laps in the Ferrari 296 at Brands. It's ok once you get into the rhythm but to be honest I'm petrified of taking it out in an actual race. T1 = getting punted off into the void for starters.

Did a couple of race A's and I'd still be at it if my son hadn't come home and taken over to do race B. Thought it was pretty fun and I'll be back for more tomorrow.

Lots of downforce and the lift-off oversteer is brutal, but fun to try and tame!

I have now experienced race B, managed a 1:25.8 in a DR B lobby and was placed 2nd for the start. After the 2nd corner I was 15th after being punted off and sat spinning on the grass šŸ™„. This might be a race where you set the rejoin to the track onto auto šŸ•ŗ

I have a confession to make!!! I’m a fraud, I can only drive Gr 4 cars šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø these Gr 3 are just so powerful and so easy to spin. I’ve done about 2 hours in quali this evening and I don’t think I have completed more than 10 lap, I actually timed the gap between completed laps as I was getting so annoyed and it was 27 minutes!!!! Jeez these things are brutal! Bring me back the atenza!!!

Track is fun and I imagine once you get it nailed and are just flowing around all the corners it must feel amazing!!! Lots of work this week to work out how to drive one of these beasts! Tried a race, set fire to some Dr as was just braking in all the wrong places, getting hit from behind which was probably my fault then just spinning off everywhere! No point racing until I can string a few laps together in quaking don’t think!

@Barney Da Dog that’s great quali time mate šŸ’ŖšŸ’ŖšŸ’Ŗ

Saw your low 25 mate, well done, not an easy track! Have you found the Ferrari better than the 911?

Nice quali to stat P2 mate šŸ’ŖšŸ’Ŗ shame about the punt, hopefully once people start learning the track that will happen les!!

Know the feeling mate, my first lap whilst I’m in DR A was starting second last, last was a A+ with no time 😁, I spun second corner and decided to quit out and do a full 15 mins qualifying

Second race was a little better, some silly goings on where ppl were passing ppl (heaven forbid we’d try to pass in a race?!) lots offs and mid pack finish,

Just get out there and race mate, by the weekend you’ll be a dab hand, and great QT

Decided not to race tonight in favour of some qualifying, tried the ferrrai after watching the Tidge guide but couldn’t get near my 911 time so I’m sticking with that.

Gr3 Brands trust me is going to be a real pain until around Thursday and then hopefully it settles down and becomes a race event šŸ˜šŸ™

Some solid times out there already, Barney leading the way šŸ”„

Haven't tried the Porsche yet. Just about to. I'll let you know.

Just finished my 3rd race. At low DR B my 1:
25.3 has been good enough for pole so far.

Won the first race, finish 4th second race, spun out on the 3rd and finished 10th.

I made it my aim to try to stay calm and concentrate on getting around the track safely rather than racing the other cars.

A lot happier than this time yesterday.

Have you found the Ferrari better than the 911?
Having now tried tried the Porsche, in my opinion, there's barely anything between them. 25.1 QT in the Porsche.

If anything I'd say the Porsche is the slightly safer option.

2 more races done. Finished 3rd in the Porsche and won another in the Ferrari!

The WR lap replay was so helpful - down the gears to get the nose turned in then quickly upshift on exit. Pretty much the same strategy for every turn.
