Might be a week to purchase rennsport or pmr for some trophies
I don't think things are quite that bad

Besides both those have updates coming towards the end of the month, a supposedly big one in the case of PMR, so worth holding out a little while longer if you do plan to get one of them. Rennsport is also getting a permanent price cut soon.

I’ve just put the wife and kids on a flight to Australia for a month and I’ve got a 4 day weekend so could have been perfect for along sessions!!!
I didn't realize this was an option. Will discuss this with my wife. ;)

Looking forward to Road Atlanta next week. As I have a couple of days off I can maybe get some more racing done then I normally would.

Well I called it guys and I think Brands is turning, very fierce racing today, all clean and very tough going.

Managed to improve my QT to 1.25.476 and that’s put me a little in the thicker. Could change some things in my driving, braking tad later and accelerating through the corners.

There’s a little more time out there I’m sure and maybe due to seeing next weeks races I’m doing what I can for the rest of the week.

Almost weekend

Handsome devilish dog at the top there

4 or 5 races at Brands tonight. So many silly mistakes. Spun myself out twice, got a 4 sec penalty for "forcing another car off track" but I'm guessing my car was unghosted too close to the oncoming car. Does that happen? Certainly a strange one.

Ended the session with a 2nd place. The lobbies were decent as far as I could see. Some good close racing at times.

Le Mans is hilarious, even if you are on pole you aren’t safe, you have to slow down a little coming into the first left at Dunlop (I mean Goodyear) and guys are straight-lining it. I mean it’s not like you don’t get the position back when they straight line Indianapolis, Arnage etc. etc…. Still frustrating though.
I also much appreciate the guys who rage-quit from 3rd or anywhere ahead of me 😊

A little off topic but relatable to the thread....

Has anyone played Race 5 of the weekly challenge (Tokyo - 10 laps max PP 800)? This is how a daily race C should be. Tyre & Fuel wear are sped up, all 3 racing tyre compounds (RH, RM & RS), a touch of weather change (drizzle in parts of the track) & a good variation of time change through all this.

I raced once with the AMG '20 car. It was really satisfying even though I finished outside top 5. The top placed AI driver won in the Viper GT3 car & the second placed driver was in a similar car to mine.

What makes this race interesting is heavy tyre wear. All the cars were pitting every 3 or 4 laps & were choosing between the 3 racing tyre compounds. It's a welcome change in a way for me as Kyoto has gotten boring for me (even though I race in the Gt by Citroen car). I play Race C once in a while & not touch Race B even though I love the track. This race 5 feels like a makeshift daily race of sorts for me as mostly I can select a Gr.3 car for the race.

Even though I partly agree with @Fezzik that reverse tracks are not as much fun, there are a few exceptions. I completely enjoyed Grand Valley, Nurburgring 24h & now Kyoto in reverse. The 3rd race in weekly challenge is GV reverse which is so fun.

Even though Race C is nothing but a GT by Citroen festival, I've rarely encountered dirty driving when compared to Race B. I think we can all agree the shorter races tests the limits of patience of many users.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do - is what I'm following too when it comes to racing in Kyoto. Today I managed to lower my best qualy time to 1:42:111 (previous best was 1:42:200 which allowed me to start in the top 5 most of the times. I even started on pole for 1 race today morning which I won even.) which felt good. It's a given we need to start towards the front of the grid for a decent shot at a good result otherwise it's easy to make minimal progress within a sea of similar cars. The victory will often belong to someone who makes the least mistakes especially through the chicanes in S2 & S3.

Having a blast as wasn't expecting to at Kyoto. I'm sadly keeping away from Brands Hatch as it's easy to get punted or become a victim of crash fest in S2.

Brands Hatch 🐣
Like others I have really struggled with these powerful beasts on this beauty of a track but have only enjoyed trying to get a faster Q time.
Sometimes a car with less power can enhance a track and IMHO this is such a track.
I won’t race this 1 anymore as it’s beyond me and my low DR B skill set plus you can only get punted off so many times!
Hopefully back to full racing next week.
As an aside the High Speed TT is a real hoot 🦉 if you’re looking for an escape 🕺🤠
Couldn't agree with you more mate, such a difficult track to keep control of the car and still try and go fast. Glad you've found something fun to do though!!!
Have a go at race C in the Suzuki Swift - it’s a lot of fun as the tyre wear is minimal compared to other cars (I can’t get on with the Citroen in vr at all). Watch Cyrus’ anti-meta video first as it’s really helpful. May not be the fastest in QT but it’s excellent in the race once you get to grips with the drivetrain (and always good to try new things).
Oh I haven't tried that yet, tbh I'm a bit over this week so I'm just jumping on and doing one race C and then jumping off. I'd like it more if race C was 10 laps as it's a bit boring after that and my mind wanders and I make silly mistakes, Must have thrown away 3 or 4 3+ seconds leads trying different lines through the chicane to spice things up then instantly regretting it!!!!
I actually missed the reverse part of B, I’m out unless race A is so bad that it’s that or nothing 😬

What don't you like about it mate? I was pretty new when I raced it but though thought it was actually pretty fun

haha - I thought i'd be racing all day, but the races being a bit rubbish this week has kept me off GT7 and just been wandering round a bit lost with all this free time!!! I've not done Atlanta so may will split my time between B and C
It's not often that I do this well but I feel i can celebrate another win..View attachment 1522128
Circuit de la Sarthe is a well driven favourite track of mine and I am guessing that it has paid off some.
Congrats mate!!!! nice to see a couple of wins!!!
I’m going to keep with Brands this weekend, my aim is to get into the 1.24s but in all honesty if I get into the 25.3s I’ll be happy,

The racing is better I don’t know what’s happening, as I went from detesting this combo to now enjoying the car and racing the track, so that’s me sorted for the weekend!
Glad it's turned for you and you're enjoying it mate, where do you think you're losing time? When I looked at Data Logger I was nearly 3/4's of a second slower in sector 1!

What lobbies are you in mate? Maybe I will see you out there, been sticking with C but 14 laps is a bit long in my book and the track can be a little bit dull after 10 laps I find

As of now in the lower A lobbies. My DR tanked a lot last week where I was in mid A DR. Luckily, LM is fun in GT car otherwise would've fallen to upper B DR already.

Well I think next week is going to have to be the week I learn LM reverse, unless race A is some kinda peach, there was a gr4 dominated by lambos once and that was sweet.

I’m struggling to improve on my brands time, I’m 8th in my table and that’s with Glen still below 😁

But hey the lobbies implode so my finished are slowly increasing 😁

Small idea... how would it be If you can choose to use your qual time or not to start in back in the daily races?

I sometimes set a good time but sometimes I want to start in the back, I would like to be able to choose at entry to use my qualification time or not.

Not that this will happen again this weekend, but I bagged a win from 4th!! Super clean race bit of a tumble around with first and second on the 2nd lap and to be honest i was expecting to be caught from there but managed to keep a clear second between me and the hunting pack.

A Brit win at Brands Hatch has a certain shine for me, glad I’m keeping with it

But you can just gently move to the back anyways?

Your asking for something that in reality is quite funny, because flip it round….i qualify at the back but I’d quite like to start at the front….

The time is not the thing it’s how you drive your race is what you can control.

But I do find it both an interesting or funny concept you are proposing.

In real life they just reverse order and ballast the grids which makes more sense and more challenge tbf.

Ah we’ve had reverse weeks 😂 I had a blinder last week but dropped back down to B this week and lost about 7k total in Dr!

As Glen said, only way is to move to the side and let everyone past and follow at the end.

YES MATE!! I’ve been waiting for this message all week 💪🙌💪🙌 well done for the W and well done for sticking at it!!! Look forward to seeing another W this weekend!!

It’s been a completely mixed bag for me, starting at the Hatch absolutely murdered me and then I switched to C and have bagged 3 or 4 wins, 2 or 3 bottoms 3’s and about 5 or 6 rage quits 😂😂😂 think my head was absolutely gone midweek!! Thought at wine point I might drop down to C I was losing DR that quick!!!

Roll on next week, can’t come quick enough!!!

That's what I use my second account for. First account is qualifying with accompanying starting position. Second account is trying to make my way forwards from the back. Podiums are rare in that way, but I can train myself in race craft and wise decision making without having the feeling I'm losing a good starting position.

I did 4 races (Kyoto) from the back on my alt account yesterday. My DR level is half a bar lower than my main account at the moment, so generally I'm a bit quicker than the people outside the top 3.

Because of time difference I was sometimes in lobbies with DR A until C (me). The DR A people were most of the time a bit too quick, but due to incidents I could sometimes finish in front of them. Funny to see that people from DR B and higher think it is a good idea to go side by side through the chicanes and ss-es.

Every single race I just have to concentrate on releasing the throttle early in order to make some space, align my car for the fastest possible exit that I can manage, and pick up the positions from people who were forcing each other away from the racing line or even crashing into each other. A few hours after I experienced this I saw Sammy Snake's video about it on Youtube.

Still finding some great racing out there today, watched a few of the top 100 times to take some inspiration and up pops a couple of 25.2s and I reckon a run to a 24 is worth the hassle, so that’s tomorrow’s plan 😁

What do you all make of this one, grabbed a win earlier and got called out for being dirty, usually if I know it’s a dodge move I’d have slowed, not taking wins like that but this one, bearing in mind he was 7tenths away nearly 3 corners earlier, he was slowing and I just punched on a gap, I thought it was my corner, also looked like he drives into me,

Lets me know if it’s a careless move on my part, maybe I’d have caught him anyway so no need to do so early

Not dirty, but a sub optimum corner to go side by side as it’s so tight at those speeds, he has to turn in or braking he’s off anyway.

So not dirty, but that is the one corner at brands funny enough I don’t try a move as it’s one of the highest attrition corners anyway 🤣

Off with his head! You dirty toerag!!!!!! How dare you 😂😂

Na racing incident I think mate, you were travelling must faster than him and he turns into the corner as if you’re not there and doesn’t make any adjustments.

And that's putting it mildly :D
😬

Well, Brands is not the circuit to enjoy a few beers with! Down 4k DR today, need to leave it alone before it gets worse 😬

And to edit, it’s not been bad driving and grief, it’s just been my own crashing by taking too much grass and spinning etc, serious poor afternoon racing on my own part

I don't have the courage to race at BH as my DR has fallen 6k overall. This track is I feel lacks a little overall grip. 2 days back I was seeing Calster in his YT livestream try to better his TT in the BRZ & in 30 minutes, he could only complete a full clean lap. No doubt, the BRZ is very tricky to drive & Calster is trying to get to grips with the wheel before his life event visit in Milan but he's still an A+ driver.

It's so easy to spin 360 or run wide onto the grass because imo, S2 seems quite narrow for Gr.3 machinery just because a lack of traditional kerbs. I love the track & this is a real challenge but it's not my kettle of fish. Luckily, Kyoto is decent for me due to my qualy time.
