@Gurzu, was a pleasure to race you just now and hard luck for you hitting the barrier on the last corner. I was not getting past you otherwise!

This week started badly for me but have had back to back wins now, which has hardly ever happened. I thought I hated the Renault to start with but it turns out I love it 🤣.

Don’t know about anyone else but I find a long, very close Race C absolutely draining and can’t go straight into another one!

Was fun m8, really. Congrats. My bad 🤦‍♂️
When I realised that I was in the barrier, I tried not to do too much damage coming back on track. Luckily it went well. 😉
I know it sounds crazy, but the Citroën is my preferred for racing, having raced the NSX and the 4C already.

@brockie Man that hurts. 😢 I feel for you, that's actually an infamous DR reset.

Enjoy your holidays, everyone.

Yeah that's a reset, highly recommended to just abandon the rig for the day rather than try and squeeze in races with a crowd around. From memory, I THINK you cannot be more than one SR below your DR, so if you had recently crept up to DR-A, as soon as your SR dropped to C, you were reset. And if you quit a few races, that's the equivalent of finishing last.

Yep wise words my friend, was showing the fam the rig etc, and don’t me wrong this my own doing, I knew once I fell to AA I should have let it go, or jumped on the alt, but you know I go for ‘couple of clean races and I’ll be back in S’ mode, was just particularly grubby yesterday,

Needless to say by the time they had a go, it was in the alt account, which is low B and I think they could get the appeal 😁

Managed to hide my absolute horror of my DR loss 😞

Not quite happening on the racing front today, been hopping up for a race every 3 or 4 whilst cooking and the fam enjoying their drinks etc, not a good idea, down to AB and around 31k go quit before I do anymore damage 😁

They go tomorrow and the kids and missus got a day out planned, so I got a day 1 plan

Hope you’re all enjoying the Easter festivities 🙏

Edit. Wait for it, after my humongous DR gain on Thursday I think I matched the most DR drop ever, I guess this is what they call a DR reset? WTaF, I did quit out of a few here and there due to some guys doing what they do, but really, putting me back the far? Also, I started a race at BC, never even raced any of these guys, from pole got absolutely rammed to hell first corner and out 😳

Not sure how I recover this one
Jesus mate, that is absolutely brutal, especially when you think of all the hard work you've but in, I guess the only small silver lining is the lower SR lobbies tend to be slower so you should be starting at the front and hopefully picking up DR quickly alongside your SR!!!!

100% that's why I also like it when there is a good race C and race B so can flick between them

Mate, i have to say, it’s been a wild ride this week, so happy those rotation settings unlocked my potential at Spa because I was stumped at not being as good as I had been previously, but from then on I realised why I love gr3 Spa!! Legendary circuit!!!!

I’ve been up since 5am repairing my DR, wanted to get back to normal before the new races hit, up 2.5k in 5 races and the SR is taking an age to go up despite 5 absolutely clean as a whistle races, just about to the top of B

Well done on repairing your score, I lost 3,000 this past week so back down to 27,000 but it was expected after my brief visit to the DR-A factory. Looking forward to settling into the next weeks races and find some decent Q times to make it enjoyable. 🏎️ 🤠

Thanks mate, I’m upto 18.5k now and mid way through SR A so it’s a little more respectable 😁 will definitely know not to do that again!

Not sure what races I’m going with this week, GVH reverse could be ok but they missed a trick to make it south reverse or something, there was once a great GR4 race at south reverse.

I’m holding out to see what race A is, that’s looking like some kind of road car at brands, could be special!!

Enjoy the bank holiday Monday all,

I took some advice from here when a race had been completely compromised and that was rather than quit go into the pits and leave it there till race end.
This action prevents the algorithms hitting you as hard as if you had quit.
Hopefully 🙏🏻 not teaching you to suck eggs 🥚 but worth considering 🤠

If it makes you feel better, we are the same Dr at the moment and I haven't even had a reset 🤦‍♂️

Hatch is a Sierra Cosworth this week.

Ohhhhhhhh I did wonder what people were doing when they were just sat in the pits, I think i like this trick, may incorporate it!!!!

Cossie at brands! I am in all week there!

Just be mindful that sitting in the pits only saves the quitting SR part but if you had a contactful race up until then you'll still lose SR.

Also you take the full DR hit, its still valid to use but just know its not without its drawbacks.

Do you take less DR for each person that quits though until the end of the race?

So if you go to the pits with 15 left instead of quitting and only 11 finish the race, you lose as if you finished 11th?

Yes basically.

In a full lobby depending on the DR levels its a typical (although weighted ELO exchange of DR) but when people quit that DR goes in to the pool, so more people quitting means you'll typically lose less DR finishing last than a full lobby. The caveats being if you are high A+ and everyone that quits is low C for example you won't potentially gain much if any DR.

In fairly level DR lobbies then you are broadly correct.

Famine can explain it better or point you to the relevant threads that explain how DR works.

I just watched a replay of the Cosworth and it looks very driveable, that could be a peach of a week, I do want to try out gr4 with the new rotation settings but I reckon I’ll be at Brands all week too, 80s touring cars sounds like a sweet combo, need to go out and get me a black and red Texaco livery

My Cossie is already prepped and decked out in the Texaco livery. Think I shared it when I made it a while ago if you want to check it out although I'm sure there's more accurate ones available.

Anyone had any races in the Cossie yet? Not much fun running Gr4 on a Monday but the race looks to be fun once everyone gets used to the track, the first part looks to be full throttle through the tunnel and with anyone any near you that can be a disaster 😁

No races yet but ran a few qually laps. Feels slightly tedious on the CS tyres.

😬

What wheel rotation settings you using? I thought I’d just whack it on auto whilst I saw what the car was doing, went straight into the sand first turn with understeer 🤣

Maybe it’s a 900 car?

By the way the gr4 works really well with 500 😁

Also Wind and a couple of others going from the back, why in in 3/4th split lobbies.

I hate that whole YT flexing crap. Your fast, race fast people 🤷‍♂️
Watched a Video on YT last night. Couldn't agree more. Talk about stroking your own ego!!
😬

540. I know the Current WR holder uses a G923 so wheel rotation isn't a silver bullet but I was like thank god I have DD Pro for this combo.

Make sure it is running legal fuel (niche reference, $10 to anyone who knows what it is).

CS for the Cosworth? Urrrrgh, really should be SM surely?

That sounds like a Dave Brodie reference - Tim Harvey (ex-BTCC champ) relates a tale of following Dave in a Cossie in a touring car race, and nearly passing out from noxious fumes!

Saw Dave racing his famous Escort 'Run Baby Run' (which has just been rebuilt by the way) many times - very fast, and stunning looking black livery, with gold pinstripes:-

Excellent reference but this is a Texaco Sierra specific reference ;)

As an aside, I've decided that I have two Sport Mode personalities. I'll continue to Race A predominantly using my primary account, but I can't justify entering Group 3 and 4 races when the truth is that when using my secondary account (Mid B rated), I'm still off the pace.

I feel like I'm in a weird position.

This has nothing to do with DR protection. I tried entering St Croix and Spa races in recent weeks and even though the combinations are fun, driving around alone for 20 minutes is not. Then, when I enter a Race A using that B account I tend to wipe the floor with the opposition, which also gets tedious very quickly.

I'm hoping that part of any Sport Mode shake-up that may arrive will include split rankings by race type.

Honestly I think it’s just where the match making and absolute savage pace across the board at the moment everyone is rapid, and mistakes seem way more punitive now

Well not sure if everyone chose their weekly races yet but I’m going with B (surprisingly) after some dire races earlier on where I even dropped to BC, it’s chilled out a little at BB and the racing is coming along, just waiting for @Tidgney video so I can master some of those corners, but it’s a nice looking, nice flowing, little bit technical track 😁

And can’t be ‘arris’d with Brands and those cars I must say

Edit. It’s nice to see the GT by Citroen getting trounced this race 🙏🤣🤣 and @Lightsider74 I think @Jordan was listening to our conversation when choosing the icon of the daily race…… ‘thing’ 😁

I’ve only done B and I’m still top 1/2 splits but starting to thin a bit now.

The racing is fairly good although there are only a few places to overtake and doing so slows you down a lot so waiting till the last lap is the smart move I think.
