Honestly I think it’s just where the match making and absolute savage pace across the board at the moment everyone is rapid, and mistakes seem way more punitive now
Yeah, I've noticed that. I think it's a pretty good reflection of what motorsports are all about, which is a good thing.

Maybe that's the reason for my recent disillusion with Group 3&4 racing. Have people "figured it out"?

Road cars present their own set of challenges, and the weekly rotation means new material to process each 7 days, whilst the static and transferrable technique needed to drive race cars well means the wedge gets thinner and thinner.

An occasional physics update or BoP reshuffle feels like an unwieldy manner to mix things up, at least to me.

I have to agree honestly, I am gravitating more and more to the newer fresher road car stuff, that said there is something in the close racing which is tense and fun but it’s a war of attrition these days being candid rather than a lot of “moves” etc

And the pace and consistency are so so good now at all levels it’s a very different kind of racing game online at least at the moment.

I’ve only done B and I’m still top 1/2 splits but starting to thin a bit now.

The racing is fairly good although there are only a few places to overtake and doing so slows you down a lot so waiting till the last lap is the smart move I think.

I am only struggling with the corner out of the tunnel and off the hairpin up the hill, I need that vid which tells me to stop/turn/accelerate 🤣

It’s a shame because gr3 Suzuka of 4/5 laps would have been awesome, maybe they should give us the choice each week of gr3 or 4

Anyway, I like the fact that I’ll nail this circuit at some point in the week and even at BB, there’s some good clean racing to be had

You don’t need his vid, his ghost is there mate, a quick watch noting the acceleration and gear and it’s all good then just use coasting to keep him close on the brakes.

I haven’t watched any laps yet but using his ghost. He brakes, I’ve already braked 🤣 but that’s ok….🤣

I've noticed that when I go off track I even have trouble catching/overtaking the back markers.

Could be various reasons for it. A high player count meaning match making has a large pool of very similarly skilled players to put together or maybe, as the game has been out a while, the player base is filled with GT enthusiasts and fewer casuals.

This is the real crux as the sports mode pool is very very small 300-500k globally really invested with another 100k or so as drop in but know the score (level doesn’t matter)

It’s actually quite a niche part of the game sadly

Remember I’m not quite on your level bro, I see you put in a near 57 already so it’s all the play for, if I can return to the normal half a sec from your time I’ll be happy, I still need my helps 🤣

I think some interesting races this week, top end of average, heading to the good. Daily A is fun, but insanely hard to get a good lap right. @Metalgear9493 lap at Brands is insanely good, absolutely impressive well played!

Brands man, great track but just horrible for racing. Feel it is best used for something like a Caterham or the Radical. Might give Suzuka a lash, I don't think i am as tired of this track as others as it was a "no-go" on controller, so I only started racing on it a year ago.

Suzuka is great for me flow wise it’s the precision that gets me over 10 laps.

I also agree brands isn’t one of the better amateur level tracks we all race I find it technically difficult and a thirst trap for people they need overtakes in their lives.

Ai writes it better than me!

The 1987 Bathurst 1000 saw the top-finishing Texaco Eggenberger Ford Sierras disqualified due to fuel and technical irregularities, specifically regarding the use of an illegal, inferior fuel grade and illegal wheel arches. While the fuel claims were part of the initial protests, the final disqualification focused on non-compliant bodywork.

  • Fuel and Technical Issues: The Texaco Sierras, which finished 1-2, were found to be using illegal, thin-grade fuel and modified, illegal, non-compliant, undersized, or modified wheel arches (as described in the YouTube video "1987 - ATCC - James Hardie 1000 Bathurst (Résumé)").
  • Initial Protests: The protests were initiated by competitors, including the BMW team, who alleged that the Ford Sierras were using illegal, non-compliant, and inferior, non-homologated or modified fuel.
  • Outcome: The disqualifications were upheld after a long appeals process that extended into 1988.
  • Result: The disqualification resulted in Peter Brock being declared the winner, marking his ninth and final Bathurst 1000 victory.

Race A is pretty cool, but comfort tires? Really PD?! What the fudge… This race would be a lot better with at least sports tires…
I can see the benefits to having less forgiving tyres in this race.

The tight nature of Brands Hatch means you'll have to capitalise on small mistakes by your opponents, and I think that a grippier compound would just encourage more dive bombs due to the relative lack of peril.

Generally speaking, I've been happy with my efforts over the years to accustom myself to slippier rubber, especially on relatively slow cars.

Wowzers!!!!!! Mental health Monday’s in the newly set Alt account has been a revelation!!!!!

Suzuka has been like the Wild West. Got leathered by people and Quit 2 races and didn’t care one bit. No raging or swearing, almost tidgney/Rory like in my reaction!!!

Only downside is when you do get a result it doesn’t feel as good but I’ll take the lower highs to avoid the pits of rage and despair I’ve been in last 3 weeks on Monday 😂

Back into the proper account tomorrow hopefully

Odd night at Suzuka. Tried the audi and the beetle but nothing comes close to the 992 porsche. Feels like theres a ton of understeer though, in all 3 cars, just no grip. This may be because last few times at suzuka its been group 2 or super formula, so took me a while to get my head around where the grip is.....or isn't.

Put down a 2.01.4 which seems respectable for a low A/high B lobby. Started my one race p7, highest B driver in a split room. Lots of errors from a lot of guys early, it just feels like the cars nose doesn't want to turn in. Managed to keep my nose clean and was P4 after the stops, once in a rhythm my lap times were good but any loss of focus and you just get murdered on lap time.

Exiting the pits an undercutter with warm tyres got a run on me down the inside of the long left before degner 1, he passed me but fell into my line righ where you brake and I tagged him. Felt like a really really needless move, thats a super sketchy place to say the least, just so awkward. Fell to p11, finished p7.

My ridee for the week shall wear the four n twenty meat pie livery.

Cheers Tidge! I've had recent road car training trying like mad to keep up with @ADAM18 at trial mountain reverse. This felt like childsplay🤣

Watched a Video on YT last night. Couldn't agree more. Talk about stroking your own ego!!

540. I know the Current WR holder uses a G923 so wheel rotation isn't a silver bullet but I was like thank god I have DD Pro for this combo.
Is that Wind? He's like a 19 year lad, I've watched some of his content and he goes into some nice details on his WR laps, saw somewhere that he has it attached to a desk and has his pedals balanced on some books or something, just goes to show all the fancy rigs etc... aren't needed.

Man I've tried ghosts so many times but I just can't get it, going to pick two corners that i suck at and watch the reply in minute detail and see if i can improve from there.

Would be nice if the driving standards improved with the pace wouldn't it!

How does it compare to the largest pool of players like iracing or the others?

Once you get the flow right on Suzuka for a few laps it feels so nice, until you make a mistake then it take a few more laps to get back in the zone!!

It’s not even needed to nail them, just smooth and clean with a good chicane the rest is all rinse and repeat especially the degnas
Reading this has changed my whole approach so thank you, was trying to muscle it trhough
The P2 that felt like a win:

One for all the DR B's out there! :D

That's a pretty stacked lobby to take the P2 mate and you were right up P1's rear by the looks of it as well!!!! lovely stuff.

Seems like the new wheel is doing it's thing, is there a big difference in feel?

Love the livery!!!!! Are you making these yourself?

We've got the same quali but because I'm still stuck in SR B i'm starting P2 :) Had a P2 in the bag last race before bed and spun myself on the last lap :grumpy:

How are you finding T1? I can't get the turn then brake sorted without spinning the back out every time, I'm having to tap the brakes then turn in but I feel like this is losing me a ton of time.

No it wasn't "Wind" - never heard of him!

Haven't been able to do a side by side comparison with the new and old wheels but aside from the ability to increase sensitivity I'd say the feel is very similar. I play with very weak FFB which probably explains it. I'm not interested in immersion only speed!

Driving standards has been slightly better at Brands so far still getting dive bombed on the inside. It's such a cheap, low risk move (for them). Initially I felt a bit intimidated by racing A+ drivers but eventually calmed down and tried to concentrate on my own driving.
