So, from Saturday my wheel decided not to work anymore. 😥
It shows an error about pedal wire's connection, but all is at the rigth place; like it was Friday nyt for the 1st training at Yamagiwa.🤷‍♂️
Right when there's finally Willow; that's what hurts most.
Tried unplugging from power / remove and refit all cables/wheel etc?

Works on planes and helicopters at work 🙈

I tried everything, I mean, the only thing left was "opening" the device. Checked all cable with a multimeter and all result fine. Most probably the base is crushed and needs to be sent to Thrustmaster for repair. It will take ages, just why I'm switching to the Fanatec. I'll make it repair anyway, then I'll donate it to someone in need for a wheel.

Wow. Big Willow is bloody difficult!!

Spent over an hour there doing the circuit experience then the same again setting a QT for Race B. And after many, many times stepping out into the void only managed :19.6! 😭
Know the feeling mate, haven’t quite emulated the 19.3 I did on my alt account, so sitting at 19.7,

I seem to be being caught fairly quickly and going back a few places per race, so a bit more study needed I reckon, I was sure there was a different way of doing that right hander T2 than what tidgney guide suggest, can’t figure out if it’s 4th/5th or what the hell.

A good week for the alt account I would say, see what I uncover as the week goes,

It's one of those tracks where you can be a fortune teller to the other racers - 'I see you will be going on a long journey......' 😂

I managed a P14 to P2 yesterday, courtesy of those that took a trip into the wilderness.

I’ll probably send you guys a friend request from my alt account, unless you’re already on there, please accept, will be from BBR2 or mr online man.

@bone_tone @NevilleNobody @Bondwhar @newmedia_dev alt @BuzzdoggZ @Nebuc72 @TechnoIsLove if I missed anyone just holler otherwise I’ll catch up with you soon

Luckily Willow is as I remember it first time around so I’m happy I have something to race this week 😁 managed to get a 1.19.342 so hopefully an 18 will be possible and then I can break out the AS account on the weekend, is it sad not to want to lost all that DR? 😂

Well that’s Monday 🙌
Am I already on the alt account or have you excluded me like the smelly kid at school at lunch time?

I think it's perfectly normal to not want to set fire to the DR you've worked hard to get until you've found your race pace, otherwise it's just a repetitive cycle of lose a bunch of DR Mon-weds and gain it back Thurs-sun each week (I know because that was my life up until I decided to learn the track first last week). I'd guess it's only an issue if you find yourself skipping more weeks than you race just to protect it.

Is everyone going into race B? I did 10 or so laps at Laguna this morning and it didn't really float my boat so not sure whether to persevere or switch to Willow. I'm not sure if I fancy racing at either as I really didn't enjoy willow last time round.

Bit of damp squib this week after the highs of Kyoto last week.

I want to race and be competitive so it's frustrating. Next week doesn't appear much better tbh.

My plan is to improve my QT in B and C and hopefully race in B if/when I can lap consistently. If neither of those happen I'll try to finish my Master licences in career.

No you’re in there mate! 😁

Switch mate and get into B, it’s a nice little race, just do a quick @Tidgney lap guide and you’ll be good to go, there’s some good times on the board already so don’t get left behind😂

@Lightsider74 fingers crossed interlagos next week will be a decent race, otherwise a lean week for sure! Again!

Ok I will switch over to B for a bit, I want to get my Laguna time down into the 21's, so think I will head back there for time trial if I have time later in the week. Will see how race B is, but I'm feeling this might be a week where I don't do much.

@brockie @Lightsider74 no interest in Dragon Trail next week, was an absolute blast last time we were all there and I think it has some great racing.

This race A don’t look pretty mate, I think bump drafting is needed but I started 8th at my lunchtime race following the same car all the way around, he kindly blocked me from passing at any opportunity, last lap a guy ahead had a penalty so dropped back behind me and last corner bumped me in the corner and the two in front, one went into the pit 🤣 poor bugger, the other went ghosted crushing on the wall and the orchestrater went ahead of me the absolute get!!

Will try my chances at Willow tonight but in the alt account,
After gaining DR-A a couple of weeks ago in the Swift I’ve slipped down the greasy pole of doom back to DR-B and now realised from various comments I need an alt account to play and learn track skillls vice Q times.
Away this week but lesson learnt I feel.
Enjoy this week folks and see you all soon 🥳🤠

I think it’s the way forward mate, can’t keep going up and down like this,

My alt account is now mid B and top S so at some point they are both going to be A if that’s the level, but I’d love to get to A+ on my main and I reckon that’s the way to do it, use your main account on the races you ace, which do come around now and again

Faired a bit better this morning at Willow Springs, starting and finishing mid pack and only being set to the never realm once - small word of advice, it's not the best idea to try holding the outside line in the last corner. However, I'm just not enjoying it at all and it's actually putting me in a stinking mood.

I'm gonna give Lacuna Seca a go instead and see if I can hold some rank there.

It's funny, I've been doing it more often than not, kind of as a high stakes personal challenge!

It's so upsetting in that moment when you realise you've not braked hard enough, or locked up and it sends you into the desert. I'm no rage-quitter, but when you're in a tete-a-tete with 14th place and it's the 3rd lap, stuff can happen

I’m actually enjoying race b, not sure if I’ve turned a corner with it but holding position now in races and it’s been fairly clean too. Apart from this chap in a GT by Citroen who barged through at the top of the hill, but someone else took care of him later on.

Actually beat my alt’s time 19.300 against 19.342 😁

Dumping Willow Springs for Laguna Seca has done me the world of good. It's really fun to throw the Porsche around this track and I thoroughly enjoyed just doing some qualifying laps. I'm flirting with the 21s (22.004) and I'm sure I can knock another couple of tenths off.
nice mate - have you had any races yet?

Think I'm going to stick an hour or so into quali this evening or tomorrow and see how I feel about it.

Willow just isn't giving me any motivation to do it at all.

Anti meta cars are actually a real menace around here. The flow is so much better with the margins being so tight. Every time I've seen a G70 or an Audi they've just caused chaos.

The Hondas aren't too bad but I think that's down to sharing something of a closer car profile to that of the 4C.

One thing that is making me pull my hair out however, is the ghosting here seemingly not fit for purpose. A couple of times this has happened at the same location on the track, a few guys ahead getting a bit rambunctious over the crest/corner before the back straight, and one of them gets launched as they try and rejoin the action at full throttle after eating some sand. They spear perpendicularly across the tarmac whist airborne and we'll, you know what happens.

If the ghosting system isn't there to help in that situation, then what is it for?

Yeah you are not wrong there, when this GT by Citroen came a croppa he was spinning in the middle of the track and ghosted just as I was flying through him (phew!)

But now you come to think of it, it’s always a G70 or a Renault Megane, Citroen who is flying around not attached to the track 😂

But I am playing super fair, not defending an ounce and seeing where I end up, not to give anyone an excuse to exit me 😁

Fitted the new load cell springs and I'm very happy with them. Using 20 brake force now (set via the wheel). Probably could've got used to the stock feel eventually but was really struggling to register any brake input in the slow corners.

Found a bit more consistency at Big Willow as a consequence. Almost in the 18s now. It's almost fun again. (Almost!)

@BuzzdoggZ had a quick go around Laguna yesterday evening. Those sausage kerbs are brutal in GT7!

Lapping consistent mid to low 19s so in the spirit of this thread I thought I'd just go for it and enter a few races. It went as expected (terribly) but I had fun. Qualified in the last couple of places so was mostly racing other back markers and those on recovery drives. Hit an :18 QT between races though which was nice.

Lost DR every race but I figured if I just kept going the system would eventually put me with others at my level for this combo.

Just off to check my DR chart..... It ain't gonna be pretty 😂

Oops. Lost 2000+ DR. Stuff it.

Not the climb that’s just a little bit of focus and a little bit of combos lining up.

The thing to remember is when you look at the chart over a year those dips aren’t huge, it’s just it’s a small lense.

Racing is the only way to drive race pace consistency their.

DR is like an investment, you manage it or monitor it overtime not actively.
