Well I’ve decided I’ll stick with B this week on the main account and let the racing decide my DR level, I’m clearly out of my depth in A currently and struggling with hooking up times so we just see where the racing lands me, I think unless you have 2 identical accounts, going down a level ain’t doing you any favours, it might be useful just to change the lobby now and again

Good week for the purists, B is a bit processional but I reckon there is enough drivers out there who will do me a favour and cause themselves havoc and I’ll progress that way,

A: Suzuka in the 98 integra (F&F vibes)
B: Deep forest Gr4
C: Watkins Gr3

?? I’ve been doing them since this morning?
I've not logged into the game, usually come here monday morning and see the little graphic showing me the races.

Hmmmmmm maybe Race A or C, not sure, I do like me an Integra but feel the track is a bit big for this car.

It’s a tough week to choose,

Race A looks fun, I just need some sprint fun

Would love WG in race B as it’s just too long at C

Each to their own 😁

Edit. And digit and x.com race Hungary too, ya lazy get 🤣

@brockie can be my canary down the mine on B. I’m worried it’s just going to be a messy punt fest at the hairpin.

I’m looking at Race C at the moment. But way off the pace and feel like I’ve no control over the car through bus stop and I’m over 2 seconds off WR at the moment so need to find a second and some actual control of the car if I’m going to try and race it!!

Not sure on the racing after watching eh streamers, seems like it’s a big push to pass track by looking briefly at the streams this morning

B is fine bud, stick to left of the straight and folk will stay right and switcheroo yo ass,

It’s fun, currently I’m heading for DR B so I’ll at least be starting a little further up, currently ending last or close to last and at 30.9k 🤣🤣🤣

But I am enjoying the 458, great car

As much as I love Gr.4 (more than Gr.3 because I'm more confident & competitive in slower machinery), I'll not participate in Race B as much as C. I'm a bit fearful of the short races especially with my primary a/c as shorter races cause mayhem which can hurt my DR.

When giving way to a faster opponent makes sense in Race C, it doesn't seem practical in Race B for obvious reasons. At the end, I want a clean race, not a race where I've to win. I usually aim for top 5 which usually I get.

I may be in the minority but I find Deep Forest more enjoyable to race at than Trial Mountain.

Mate whichever race you are in you can only make one move and you let the faster car by or take the line which makes it hard for him to pass, you can’t stop this shorter or long race.

Many do intentionally block or weave which is just blood boiling, I think if you race well you will be raced well, I’m chasing a DR increase until I can’t get one then I’m happy to finished last 6 times and get some competition back

I prefer some bite size racing because yes you have to go at it from the start in a good way, race C every now and again, but I agree with your point on taking time there

@Rossell2 stay out of the sun bro, out the ps5 and yourself in the fridge

Won't be playing today or tomorrow because it's 30 degrees out and the ps5 is in the hottest room in the house. Someone pass me a fridge.
It'll be fine, because this one time in a different country where it regularly gets hotter it got even hotter and people died but it wasn't a problem but also it wasn't actually that time.

(this might be a confusing piece of GTP lore for some)

My office, with the new blackout blinds in the front, and the tower fan on for four straight days, and only the PS5 and PC (and two screens) on for a couple of hours, is now at 27.9. I'm noping out as soon as I get the images I need and onto the Chromebook.

Part of the problem is a 45-year old single skin steel garage door on the front, which absorbs and radiates heat (my office is the room above it). We're getting a new, insulated, double-skin (and side hinged, with 66:33 split) fitted in early July. Hopefully June is cooler or 🫠

Well here mate, Tuesday is cooler 🤣

We moan for the cold weather, we moan MORE for the hot weather 😂

30 degrees and the English go into survivor mode. Mind you I don't think their houses are designed for much hotter than 25 degrees.
That’s the truth, in fact for 20 years we doubled down on over insulating everything whilst not speccing airflow or proper hvac and here I am with 5 fans moving hot air around the houses I’ve covered every window and door with towels (also hoovered the ps) the problem as you know is that we don’t get the same nighttime cooling humidity so the heat in our artic survival boxes but some how it’s going to 9 degrees and damp (guessing) so we all end up with bad tans/burning and colds!

It surprises me that air conditioning is not a common thing in UK. Maybe is something prohibited to preserve the visuals on the historical facades?
I think it is the cheapest and the most efficient way to make your house confortable nowadays.

Are things like this not available in the UK now?

It’s a 3ton split AC unit that just gets attached to side of the house. My cane is a converted garage so gets roasting and this cools it down within 5 mins.

Not just houses (although they're designed to keep heat in; our average annual temperature is 11 degrees): everything. In essence everything from roads to railways to power lines, and industrial/commercial devices like refrigeration units is designed to operate between -5 and (I think) 28 (rails are welded for length at an air temperature of 27), because those are pretty much the edges of historic long-term temperatures, and when things get outside that range for too long it starts to fail. Short blasts like today are usually fine, it's just when it goes on a while.

When it was running 30+ for several days (with a little break in the high 20s) in 2024, everything was failing. The UK isn't designed for it, although we're seeing a few things coming on now that should operate up to 40 (including a cool new graphene road additive we're trialling up here).

Annual average temperatures are ~11 degrees. We all wish we had AC for about 4-5 days of a typical year, but for most of it the central heating is much more important.

You can get AC, but few people bother.

I keep looking in to it, then realise a B&H fan for a few years at £19.99 then replacing is is economically the right answer.

That said we are in this weird place where the weather is changing, when I went back to school in September fog and daddy long legs, now it’s “don’t wear your blazers this term”

Dude we have sun for about 2 months a year, I’ve got a piv unit in my house, it don’t work when it’s too hot but by midnight it’s chucking in cold air so you can sleep

Wasn't expecting to create an entire discussion on the weather and AC units I'll admit 😂

Drove a good 130 miles from Southampton this morning back home after a weekend away and stopping at the services was just awful. Moment you stepped out the car might as well have stuck a fork in me, I was that done.

This is very common in Australia, but smaller units so you have one in each room to reduce electricity costs. In Toronto, where it gets more humid than hot so to speak, it's all central air which fails miserably to cool the second floor.

Onto this week's races, after watching Tidge's video I do wish the Integra race was longer and at a different track but will give it a quick lash, otherwise Watkins it is.

Well after some good racing at DF I’ve fallen through the ceiling between A & B so at 28500k now, but defo staying with DF for the week, I’m liking the racing
They will all thin out a bit, it’s a European wide bank holiday so everything is stacked today.

Wednesday things will steady and the lobbies more naturally balanced.

But all races are excellent this week imo, classic GT old school, deep forest is great and WG is one of the best tracks in the game or real world
