Yas Marina needed 1 extra lap. At the end of my first race my reaction was: that's it?? Plus the 7-8 minutes countdown for the next race feels like an eternity. Am I the only one?

If you are gonna race it. That wait time is free improvement and I assume it’s gonna be stacked by Thursday, short race time long practice time the times will converge hard.

Managed a bit of seal clubbing in A today 😁

Mainly full of mixed C & D drivers so no skill required, but they going for pile up in turn 1 and see who comes out on top!

@benjoi84 awesome time there mate, I still can’t get around the first two turns properly, got knows how tidgney doing that in 4th, understeers like hell! Tried with counter steer and ASM but in the end turned them both off, I reckon this could be a fun combo when you can flow super fast around it.

I did find however, steering SENS at 360 to help with the cornering.

But all in all dire week 🤣

We've a few no? Suzuka older gen Group 2 a while back, lots of races with forced tyre strat like last week for example.

Not sure about that? Wasn’t last week at WG just pit 1/2 way through the race (give or take a few laps)? No concerns about fuel and no chance of rain.

Could be my aging brain, but can’t recall the strat in the Suzuka Gr2 race.

Meanwhile back in flatscreen 😁

I am getting used to the first couple of turns on race A.

Getting closer to the 55s

Racing isn’t too bad either, just had an A rated driver in front of me an a well known tuber A+ driver wipe out just before the line somehow so I managed to nick 3rd 😁

One thing that hasn’t been mentioned- race A is horrific for VR! There’s no interior modelled so it’s like you’re sitting on the roof. After so long driving with the vr cockpit view it’s too much of an adjustment for me to be ar$ed with. YMMV!
And that is exactly why I'm not even trying Daily A this week. I saw the car, knew it was the racing version of the VGT and immediately hit the "Nope" button.

Daily C is a blast, however! Even though I bottled 4th place in my once race last night on the penultimate turn (too much gas in Mac The Knife)

Great effort, I'm just a tenth off that and I don't think I have any more speed to give.

Thanks mate

I think it all starts at that first corner and the whole lap needs to be perfect, in typical Tokyo form 😁 I just can’t work out whether to short shift and where or run through the revs, but I’m enjoying trying 😂

Race C is nice for practicing car control on somewhat older cars. Nice to see they are so close together in the timings! I already liked the Mercedes as a kid. It's the only car of the three that isn't ugly, as far as I'm concerned.

Did 2 races from P2 and P4 on my main account. The first one a bottled myself. Second race I was in the leading pack, together with 3 other cars, pulling away from the rest. But one of the three was agressieve and dirty. Because he took me out I got further eaten up by the mob. He apologied afterwards, but never returned the position and finished in front of me.

Later I tried 2 races on my alt account, both from P15. First race I finished P11. The second one was full of A and even 3 A+ drivers. Somehow I managed a P8 finish all the way from the back.

Race C is a gem for nostalgia purposes alone. The Mercedes and the McLaren are basically at parity and in my race proved to be fiercely competitive against each other. The Toyotas, on the other hand, all finished at the very bottom.

I have logged probably a thousand hours on Fuji Speedway and chose the F1 for this banger. Thanks to a rare healthy amount of time to practice I qualified Q3 with 1:35.4. After turn 1 bumping and grinding, I skirted past the onslaught to P2 which I maintained comfortably through Lap 5. P3 CLK was in beast mode, though, and eventually outdid me through the back esses causing me to cede position after the last turn. No shame, though, as he won in the end. Still, holding P3 in a DR B lobby is solid for me.

What I have not practiced enough is the pit entrance and straight up forgot the last second kink which gave me a 3 second pit lane penalty. I served this on lap 9 outlap which caused me to drop to P4 and very nearly P5. Another F1 gave me a very good run for the money, with a few passes on the straight and multiple rounds of going side by side through various turns.

Ultimately, I maintained composure and finished a healthy one second ahead of him in P4. Wish I could race this one for a year straight.

I'm caught between Race A and C this week. I think Tokyo just shades it, because the longer race is just ruining my hands, as much as I love Group 2s at Fuji.

It helps that I'm naturally quicker in the VGT, not to mention the comfort factor. Tokyo is one of my happier hunting grounds whilst Fuji is a venue which I've only become really comfortable with since the recent 180SX event there.

I've been managing to fluke some podium finishes -as @brockie says- even the higher ranked drivers are binning it under pressure. Pressure which I'm more than obliged to apply ;)

Edit: mid-afternoon update
I finally got my P1 after an unplanned assault at turn 1, it went well apart from the clunky exit...

Had some awkward performance differences (if the ghosting system can't help us in these scenarios then I don't know what it's for in A/B lobbies)...

An last but not least, a few displays of the 'unreliable' driving standards unfortunately present (malicious or otherwise)

I actually think I’m racing abi Dhabi for the rest of the week, too much dirt on race A, I mean AS drivers blocking the slipstream tow on lap 1 is just poor imo

@Stringerbell awesome time bro at your home track 😁
Thanks mate. It’s my most saved track so feel good round here!

Racing today has been a lot of fun, short sharp, Intense races. Yesterday was carnage but everyone seems to have found their stride!

At what point did you get your DR reset?

I’m having murdered with the penalties here and have dropped from S to 25% of B and worried if I drop to C and going to get reset?

Yeah the racing has been pretty ok and I’ve etched away at my time, had a 57.6 taken by the pens - which are diabolical for this track I have to say, so I’ve something to hunt for the rest of the week.

I think you’ll be fine for a reset until you hit SR D, no real way to find out where that is, because a couple of poor results combined might just hammer you 😁

But in any case 15k DR maybe isn’t the worst thing as at least you’ll have that to recover from if nothing else to do 😂

One of those rare daily weeks where I'm not going to touch any daily race. Race B is the most attractive to try once a while but just 4 laps is a downer for me + championship race track limits which makes me want to avoid this race. No wonder Tidgney gave this race 0/8 in weekly daily race guides + race vid.

Race C is not my cup of tea. As for Race A, I love Tokyo but not such a fan of VGT cars.

Looking forward to next week already. Thank goodness we have Nurburgring Manu event on Saturday + Monaco F1 race weekend to keep this week still exciting.

All the best to all those racing in the three various daily races of this week. Have fun Mates :gtpflag:

My DR isn't liking race C, but I'm having fun mostly so that's the main goal:

My best finish is a P8, the rest is all P10 or lower.

When I use the data logger I can see the recurring event that I'm not turning /rotating early enough, which causes me to have to wait longer before I can hit the throttle. This is because I have an absolute hard time matching the correct amount of trail braking and turning simultaneously. Most of the time I can't help myself and apply too much brake pressure for too long, so I cannot turn as easily as the top drivers. Also I have built into my muscle memory that I need to brake first, and then cornering. While in higher speed corners you often need to steer first. Very hard to unlearn! Hopefully I can work this out now that I know what I'm doing wrong. I try to focus on driving the correct-ish line, and then build speed from there.

Wow race B is a real SR killer this week, I draw the line at losing my SR so I’ll need to pop back to A periodically to charge back up!

When will this hellish week end! 😁

Enjoying C though there’s a lot of contact probably b/c these cars are fast and oversteer easily. My SR is faring worse than my DR!

Is the Toyota a lot slower out of corners than the Merc or the Macca or is my exits? They are just driving away from me out of the last corner even when I can see ‘em get sideways.

Yes, I've found that out too!

Down to bottom end of B, with zero contact - must be all the off track moments and subsequent penalties 🥴
