Now I'm confused.

Race A has been one of the more thrilling and racey combos in recent times. It doesn't fall into 'the car is boring and slow', it doesn't fall into 'we have this circuit every week'. It merely suffers from spotty participation and thus, mixed lobbies.

High downforce, tons of torque, quick as hell and on Racing Hards. Is the fictional nature of the car the problem?

One could argue the race is too short, but there's nothing new there.

I've been hammering the VGT on both of my accounts, depending on whether I felt like practicing my overtaking or not :sly:.

I'm not surprised PD are chasing their own tails in search of the secret sauce for what this community wants from Sport Mode.

Got up to B for the first time this week. My pace is pretty weak there, but staying out of trouble and keeping it clean usually got me a mid-pack finish. It will be interesting to try out a Daily Race C at the B level this week (assuming its Gr3 cars at Interlagos).

For me personally mate, this car isn’t for this track,

I’ve enjoyed the TT aspect of it but trying to race it has been the issue, first corner has been mostly pile ups which result in either hitting the wall which is fine or getting spun which is not.

You cant really pass unless someone lets you so it doesn’t really flow, last two laps of the race is usually fine but any damage is done by then

This particular track of the Tokyo’s is my least favourite

But as far as secret sauce, the stable of rotating gr3 & 4 is usually fine for me depending on the track, abi Dhabi has proved to be poor in both but that’s just how it goes,

Race A lately has had some real belters, the Porsche at Sardegna? The Merc w196 at Watkins, that old 50s American car at trial mountain, again some of them just aren’t

My problem is I expect it every week 😁

Last week was the first time since March I've not entered a single race. Just a case of nothing floating my boat out of the 3 on offer. Personal preference but I as I'm not really competitive in Gr.3 (or 4 for that matter) I don't enjoy them generally speaking. I don't like street tracks either and sometimes I just don't want to have to learn yet another new to me track.

I do actually want to race so it gets frustrating.

Hoping for a better week!

Ditto for me. Not played one daily race since last Monday. The positive is taking a break off the racing just to reset.

Hey guys, I focused on Fuji last weekend. Started on a '33.8 and end at '33.1 as my best attempt for QT (lucky lap I guess). Sunday I started a new alt account since I was still between the few without it. So I'll send some friends request during the week.
Btw, the first race in E lobby was atrocious. 🤣 Punted from pole, fallen to 14th to get back to 3rd at the end.🤷‍♂️
This weekend I'll try to rank up between Brands and Interlagos.
Enjoy your racing week, everyone.

A and B don't look much fun to be honest.

I will be doing race C, although 15 laps of Interlagos seems like it would be very stressful as it's so technical. Should be fun though.
Race C is fun. Brazil as a track is enjoyable by itself. 15 laps seems long but is just about right before the next race slot begins. Managed a TT of 1:32:6xx in the RCZ even without seeing Tidgney's lap guide which he'll release in about 7 hours from now.

Will surely try Race B too just because of my love for Gr.4.

You should try the track in karts, over about 20 laps or more, in a lobby. One of the greatest multiplayer experiences I've had in GT.

Comfort Hards can get in the sea. Or the outside wall of turn one.
Thanks Famine, I’ll have a look for the race in the lobbies 👌🏻🤠

Well, did a brands race at lunch, not that much fun tbh, ill try the 5min race when i get home, might be a break week 😁
Have You tried Race C yet? Sao Paolo has always been fun either in F1 or here in GT7. In dry, it's fun but it would be dope if there was dynamic weather here. Brazil + rainy weather usually always create magic.

Have a great week ahead nonetheless. Others here too. :gtpflag:

Race B will be a barge fest. Race C in theory should be good but it is so weird, since moving to a wheel I just do not have the pace at Interlagos that I did on a controller, I used to FIRE out of turn 2 and pass relentlessly into T3 but I just cannot seem to do it now. Might give Race A a lash.

Race C is just a tad too long so no mainly I don’t ever do that one.

Exactly that
Of course, it's basically a touring car race.
10 laps round and round gets a bit tedious after lap 5 😁

I set a 1:33:0 in the '22 Porsche at Interlagos to begin with. A faster time should be possible for me with some practice. I lose 0.75 in sector 1 alone, which is basically just one braking zone and trying to get your racing line correct so you can go full throttle through T2 and T3. I'm happy to see I'm quite adept at T4. The infield section is technical and I don't have lot of experience on this circuit so I can definitely improve here and there.

Looking forward to trying a race later on. I saw a piece of Digits stream where he pitted after 3 laps, some others even pitted for mediums after lap 1.

You can check @Tidgney 's lap guide vid which he'll release on his channel in 3 hours or so. I always watch it because the right braking references make all the difference.

I feel PD messed this race a little when it comes to tyre wear. The RM's can last so well & that much to neglect the need of RH tyres. Using RH tyres is more like a formality than a requirement to nail a great race. Tyre wear should've been more intense to make RM tyres last lesser than they're doing just to make sense of having RH. Otherwise they should've just kept RM tyres with 1 stop mandatory.

Did a race A earlier and it was quite fun, 8th to 3rd nice and clean but too slow to be doing again, B in the G70 felt a bit better, so did the GTR

But will cut out my early races and just do the one lunch race, and look for something else to do at the weekend 😁

Just about to do B, as expected it’s quite bloody tight and if I’m being honest I’m not sure even looking at the telemetry where .5 comes from 🤷‍♂️

So want to address a few myths when we have new people and we can be quite cynical.

Firstly even if you don’t race do laps, slow or uncomfortable it doesn’t matter, just do them and try with a learning mindset not a pace mindset.

Secondly Gr4 at brands can be touring car or it can be like the race I’ve posted, 8th to 8th dr up. Result.

So don’t precondition thinking, yes some races are more processional than others, that’s why doing laps and QT matters those weeks.

Most daily As are the best place to do a few laps usually because going from a quirky low traction/grip car means the Gr4/3 stuff feels like it’s on rails, use that!

There is no substitute for spending an hour or two doing circuit experiences even if to just improve your time, repetition removes uncertainty and increases ability.

My first race after mostly 2 weeks off

GT7 VR daily b brands indy

Daily C is where its at for me, A + B dont seem my cup of tea tbh. I did two races with R8 Evo '19 car and they were both good fun races. My 2nd race faired better having achieved 5th in a C rated lobby w/fastest lap. The more I do it the more comfy and faster I get with the feel of this car as it has good balance, I may try the 992 and 296 later, but lets see how it goes this week. But Thursday could not come sooner!!
