LM reverse is growing on me I have to say, it’s sort of making sense as a track in its own right now, the BRZ is also making a new challenge, it’s like an old style touring car,

I remember when I used to enjoy learning the track all week to be ready to go at the weekend, clearly a bit spoilt with my skills these days 😁

The good thing is that there is plenty of space on track to race, so the SR is safe! But judging by my QT the DR will take a knock, can’t have it all.

I've actually only ever driven it in reverse, I don't think it's ever been the right way round on a daily since I've been playing, 3rd time it's bee in reverse though 🤷‍♂️

How's the BRZ handle? I've used the 992 so far but am thinking to change?

I can’t get near my time on it with the 296 so I’m sticking with it, it’s fun to drive.

Never driven it the other way around, wow, you’re in a for a treat when you finally do 😁

Hmm I wasn't in my racing mojo last week, and this week and the next I also don't have time to drive. Also the weather is a bit too hot for me to enjoy GT7 racing. I thought I'd finally learn the Le Mans track. Maybe another time. Have fun everyone, and see you in 2 weeks.

For those like me in low ranking (D to B or alt accounts) willing to go for race C, I've a suggestion. Do not set a QT, do instead the TT with the hypcar you've chosen to race. When you'll get consistency lapping for ar 6-7 laps, it will be time to race from the back. Wait for the carnage at Mulsanne and Arnage and profit from it. 14 laps is a long way to go, I believe that consistency will pay more than "risky pace". TC 1 on dry conditions as per Tidgney's suggestion and TC 2-3 on wet are the safest for this long journey. I'll be on my alt account, cause last year I sufferer an awful DR reset there.

Which wheel are you guys using that allows rotation adjustment. I have a Thrustmaster T-GT2 and I can’t change the rotation without a PC. We are Mac users so that’s a no go.
Might be interested in wheel & pedal upgrade if rotation adjustments are going to help. ✌️🤠
Could be perfect timing.

God those karts are fun. I actually use TC2 in the race, and it works. Thr only braking spot is sketchy, a lot of guys spin out under power or are nervous to get on it, i am getting on it earlier than most in thr race and catching folks pretty quickly because im not so edgy.
Only done a couple of races so far but yeah they're fine/fun. 11th on my first Race after spinning twice but got p2 race 2.

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaah, surely we have had a race in your time no? There was a group 4 event there a few months back.
That was also reverse, I remember it as me and @Bondwhar had a great little duel on the leaderboard that week with my Citroen against his flying Minions Suzuki!

Then back in Dec or Jan it was Gr3 and one of my first races as I just checked and I was 7 seconds off the WR :)

They've had it in reverse 3 times this year and none the right way round which i don't understand as surely it would make sense to change it up. Although it is @Tidgney fave track so maybe he is pulling the reverse strings behind the scenes!

Everyone seems to love race C this week, so in true internet fashion I'm going to defecate all over it (jk it's not awful just a few things let it down in my opinion):

The cars:
It's great to have these new cars and the grids look great with the custom liveries, however most of the people have been using the Porsche which hurts the variety, it was the same in the time trial so I guess the BoP is not quite there yet. I've been using the Ferrari and it feels decent enough but these high downforce cars still suffer on controller, the steering is a bit too slow when changing direction through the chicanes and in the Porsche curves you're not allowed to use as much steering lock as you would ideally want, it makes them feel a little heavy and sluggish.

The weather:
Rain is back, fantastic!!! Only it's not back every time, if you love wet races and join expecting that you have a 50% chance of being disappointed, even if you do get rain it's scripted so it will always seem to end in time for you to do the second half of the race on slicks, because of the tyre wear you don't have much flexibility on strategy. If that wear was set lower it would open up the option for the risky early pit, trying to stay on the narrow dry line in the dark or play it safe by running longer at a slower pace. As it is the tyres are wearing out towards the end so everybody has to do pretty much the same thing.

The length:
People will disagree with me but 14 laps and a 50 minute race is to long for most players, I did a race late last night and 7(!) people were there by the end, this was an A+/A lobby where people usually care about their ratings so they must've really hated it. I reckon so much of it being in the dark puts people off too, I like it but others will hate it. Limited the race slots to once per hour is a baffling decision too, if you turn your console on for a race at the wrong time you have a 59 minute wait before you actually see any action, that is too long and people aren't going to spend that time.

I'd give it a 4/10

I haven't jumped into racing yet this week but I'll make a rare appearance in the Group 3s, I think.

LM reverse was one of my favourite combos when using the GT500s many months ago and I'd love to see if that adoration transfers into the lower category.

Jesus it was 8 months ago!!

I agree with Max on the length of Race C, I am all for longer races but half an hr is plenty.

Fun race last night on VR at Autodromme Lago. Hilarious ending too hahaha

Welcome to the forum mate and that was funny as, poor guy, the win just slipped away,

I’m always conscious of not being on the left hand side heading out of that corner, depending who you are racing with, you are brown bread

I agree with you on most of this mate.

Cars - it is super cool to see all these new cars, even if I can't drive them properly

Weather - I think you may well be in the minority of people with the skill level to make a proper strategy around the weather and racing lines etc... the vast majority of us will just be trying to keep the car on the track in the rain!!

Length - Totally agree, I think 10/11 laps would have been much better, if you make a mistake after the pit and realise you still have 20/25 mins of poodling around aimlessly on your own, it's a bit demoralising.

All in all I think it's great PD have put it in, I do feel it would be better if they did things like this more often with maybe dynamic weather and Gr4 one week, time of day changes and Gr3 another, Hyper and no weather or time of day another etc...... It would be better for the majority to have things changed up with one variable at a time so they can learn how to navigate the weather or the night or the hyper cars without getting over loaded all at once.

Throwing them all at us once in a blue moon means a big portion of the player base just can't really race it properly as it's too much going on.

I'm going to give it one more go this evening.

I love GT7 , but the online races especially this one does not make sense. Zero effort to make BOP was done. It's a mini cup race.

Why can not the whole team who is doing heavy online campaign , can not do bop as in lmu or iracing ?

GT7 is really awesome SIM, but online is a joke there

I’ve been racing in C for the past 2 days and found it to be exhilarating. After watching ‘Calster’ in other races with rain etc he tends to add the driving line to his aids.
I will also add braking zone as it changes dramatically when the rain and night racing happen.
Away for a few days now so will hopefully jump back in after Saturday.
Enjoy folks 🤠
