Top 3 is a RM start for sure, top 5, depends on the QT times around me. You need to start on RM if near the front, there's way, way too much poor driving from lower on the grid, absolutely zero patience and almost always nerfed off by someone on mediums if I start RH too high.
I can’t disagree with your opinion NN, but it is rather good fun in DR-B lobbies where I’m starting in the top 3 putting on RH’s then changing to RM’s after 5 laps. It’s brilliant to hunt down the prey 😉. Wish VR would offer time gaps to said prey but hey ho.
In defence of your post, I do pray I get past the bridge b4 I get swallowed up by the pack 🤪😋🥳🤠

Eventually, I got a very unexpected win at Saint Croix.

I'm running error-free races about 1 in 5 at the moment (disgraceful!). And, lo and behold, not spinning the car 360 or hitting a wall actually gives you a fighting chance of getting up there.

On the cusp of DR A now, and feeling like I fit in, for a change. Hopefully I won't get dumped into the all-A/A+ lobbies too soon!

2nd stint consistency was the deciding factor in this one.

Hahha me too, I average 1 dumb spin per race, so annoying, costs a good 10 to 15 seconds too.

I am right on edge of DRA and can confirm the step up into mostly A rooms is huge, nobidea where they find so much grip on the hard tyre. Im doing 57s without, barely, 55s on the medium.

A really is for asshole in the game!

Been on the alt on B when I’ve raced this week and it’s n the whole been super fun and clean if a little clumsy sometimes.

Get put in an A lobby and straight away my race is over with selfish/egotistical behaviour lap 1!!!

I don’t know what it is with A drivers but they really are the most deliberate dirty drivers of any lobby! They really need to sort themselves out. Just reminder me why I stopped playing the game a few months ago!

Anyone rant over 😂

During my very brief experience as an A driver last time round I lasted only a few races before dropping to B due to the actions and unsportsmanlike behaviour.
It’s as if a top 8 is a matter of life or death with carnage all around.
The solution IMHO is to have an amazing Q time to try and get away from the stupidity and slowly climb the A ladder where less aggro happens.
After once again achieving A and following the advice of others, I have worked up an alt account to B and really enjoyed Race C this week.
Wishing 1 & all successful racing 🙌🏻🥳🤠

Maybe I’m being overly sensitive!! Maybe this guy was just a little clumsy? You decide 😂😂

I can see why he was absolutely outraged at the pass I made as I disgustingly took the inside line and left him space to the outside, terribly awful from me.

Maybe he missed his braking point in the next corner and didn’t mean to ram me?

Maybe he wanted to make sure he hit is brake point at the end of the bridge so came to a complete stop a 100m earlier than the brake point and didn’t brake check me?

Also maybe because I paused it, the next 5 rams were just him trying to look into the car to check I was ok?

Maybe I’m overreacting calling this dirty?

This was also my first attempt at a two stopper 😂 and my last as I’m putting the rig away for the weekend now as just getting annoyed

@Vault told you we all have our rant moments 😂

Low A are simply too desperates to fall back to B. I too have seen more "relaxed" behavior un high B compared to the "psychotic" in low A.
Still we need to accept it, hoping for a combo where we feel strong, and keep trying. It is what it is. Eventually it's a good training for racecraft and awareness. Personally, in low A I don't go defensive unless I'm fighting for podium at last lap. Moreover, I never put myself on the outside of someone, if I'm not 100% sure that I'll survive and get the move done.

Yeah agreed, but driving ultra passively just to avoid getting wrecked kind of takes the competitive edge out of the game and you just end up behind people that you’re faster then.

Anyways I’m just being a grump, hopefully B next week gives a good fun combo

GR.1 returning for LeMans? Looks like it!

Maybe he missed his braking point in the next corner and didn’t mean to ram me?

I was prepared to be generous and think he missed his spot to brake. I did try the McLaren in practice and whoa baby to turn it is like orbiting Jupiter. She is fast on speed but painfully slow to turn, weak on brakes, and cannot put the power down safely.

Back to your ‘friend’ in DR A, the other 17 collisions were probably ramming, probably. 😜

Today with my main a/c I raced two times in Race C & also tried to better my TT. Managed to lower my PB to 1:53:170. At one moment of time, my time was exactly the same as @Barney Da Dog . I set this time in the Nismo. My new faster PB was set in the RC F which I'm not a fan of. My Optimal was a 1:52:6xx in the Nismo which shows if I nail all sectors, I can go much lower.

In one of the two races I played with my main a/c, I was surprised to see one player (finished 3rd behind me) had the exact same custom livery which I had chosen for my RC F. He & I share a great bond & respect as I always try to bumpdraft him or let him go as he's much faster than me.

Oooo, possible rain in Race C 😋🤠
Last year mid June when I subscribed to PS+, the very first daily race C was this combo. Gr.1 cars at Le Mans with changing weather conditions & with night to day transition. It was a magical combo & hope to see it again in coming week.

Pace is really hot in Race C, i just don't understand where folks are finding so much grip, especially on the hard. I am still gaining DR so punching above my rank I guess but that's mostly through keeping my nose clean and avoiding traffic. Fundamental pace is half second off the top 5 in split A/B rooms.

For next week, I don't do LeMans so either Watkins or Suzuka depending on which car they plumb for. I'd love to see something odd like say the 60's Jag race car or something, we don't use these old race cars enough. They have excellent mechanical grip and not a lot of aero so very driveable and sound great with proper naturally aspirated engines as baby jesus intended.

I totally agree and when I did that combo in VR it blew me away 😳🙌🏻🤠

I am interested to get back late next week and see what the new physics are all about, watch some poolside streams it looks like people are adjusting quite rapidly.
General feeling is less coasting mid corner, brake later, get on gas harder. Easier to feather the throttle and slide a touch without binning it. Faster guys in my races ar egetting brave on exiting and getting a touch of slip.

Thank you.

Will be interesting to see where my pace is now, I do like the look of next weeks races but with be very late to the party.

Seems from what I’ve seen is the handling has gone back more to like it was 2-3 years ago.

If anyone's interested in seeing a legend - Calster 25 race about in Race C in various cars + first time he has revealed himself along with the racing, then check this link(Being a controller player myself, I idolize him in many ways):

You had really mastered when to lift and coast, like you had it nailed. More trail braking now. In saying that, on paper these changes are exactly what I like, more trail braking, less coasting, safer rear end, later braking etc, and guess what? I am right where I usually am about 2.5% off the top times and top 5 in B rooms/mid to lower pack A rooms.

No point me doing race C now since everyone has had a week to master it. Did some more QT's and got it down to 1:53 dead, which puts me around 1400th in the world, which still isn't enough for a good grid position in A+ lobbies (probably bottom 5 or so), so I'm just treating it as practice and learning what I can from watching replays from the worlds best.
I've learned that I'm too abrupt with my brake inputs, smooth on/smooth off keeps the car more stable and turns in better. I do feel like my TLCM's had better brake force progression than the RS pedals. May need to swap out the stopper things to improve feel

THanks for this, i'll watch him again as some of the bigger streamers go off topic, just talk about the racing etc.

So, one thing I am noticing watching Calster and Tidge. They are both getting hard on the throttle BEFORE the apex, but have not finished rotating. So they chuck the car in as best they can, live with the car POINTING TOWARDS THE EDGE OF THE TRACK, they then floor it, which is fine cos the wheels are square so she takes the heavy throttle use, THEN they start a second phase of rotation once the revs are up and the car is gripped up.

Does this make sense as I have described it? Watch carefully, they don't brake, clip apex, straighten car and hit throttle. They brake, rotate, car is pointing away from apex, hit throttle, then second rotation.
