This morning I get up in 5 and went to Ring, made 320km.
Two walid laps with funny/sad time, one 9:04.508 and one 570.
My best is 9:04.500 and I'm at 3.00% because leading alien improved even more.

Not sure will I be able to pull better time.

I returned to Germany after winning the Power Pack races, which are also held on the Schleife....
I managed a 9' 04.461...

I still have a little bit to improve, but on the other hand, I want to believe that it will be enough because I'm starting to get fed up with the green hell...😂😂😂

Gold also at Monza and RBR... February is off to a good start... 😂

I say I can do better because I invalidated a 03.352 in the ‘last’ turn, yes... the last turn... 😭😭😭

I scraped the right side of the car on the barrier!!!... All I had to do was cross the line!!!...😭😭

I think the whole region heard me... and my wife gave me a telling-off for getting myself into such a state at 76 years old...😂😂😂

We are extremely close in lap time as usual. Getting a great lap time for us required winning the final chicane lottery twice in the same lap. Maybe we will win next time!

I tried to pass in front, but to no avail.

Happy weekend everyone (and great to see @Dan_Tes back) - nice long session this morning.

RBR first - slidey beast but good fun. First 100 miles, no aids, decent banker lap to build from.

Then back to the ‘Ring. Lots (and lots) of restarts, frankly for silly mistakes, but there was time in the lap. Some time later, and managed to pull a whole second out of my previous best. There’s maybe half a second left, but it’s a very slim maybe. Will have a last run here tomorrow morning, but this might be it for me… cheers

Did 2 laps at NBG with the Elantra. First lap improved 1s from previous 1 test lap. Second lap improved 6s. Silver feels far away... Not sure I have a lot of improvement easily reachable... Amazed by your lap times overall, you are fast !
 
For me, the difficult part was maintaining a high level of aggression throughout the lap. On my first few attempts I unconsciously drove more conservatively the further I went into the lap. The sheer length of it means that any drop in intensity level is going to bleed seconds from your time. Once I got comfortable with binning it on or beyond 6:30 or so (which happened alot) I was able to improve my time. Also, see if you're on throttle early enough, because that car wants and needs throttle early. Lastly, may want to check that you're using all the track at various points in the 'Ring - it's easy to miss apexes, just generally lose precision throughout a lap as long as this one. Keep going and you'll get it!!!!
I kept this very much at the forefront of my mind tonight and it allowed me to drop down ~3 seconds to a 9:00.832. It also helped doing the WTC 600 race that's a weekly challenge there (2 laps) this week, right before it. Helped reinforce the track layout, and really allow me to go more aggressively. There is still plenty of time for me to cut out - I did not have an especially good GP section of the track - but that felt tremendously better!
 
This morning I wake up, start the GT7 and boom - a lead man put me into silver, to 3:04%!

Since I'm trying to cut my 9:04.500 from 3rd day of this month without success, I was worried, because he did really alien master time.

But stop talking, I started driving and getting frustrated times just a few thousands behind my best.

Until I turned ghost off and something gave me strength and calmness to complete one lap as I know I can!

Proud on my time, as you can see on car, I made 3300km at Ring in this TT.

So, back in Germany since I was no longer a gold medalist...☹️
288 km later, I improved my margin to 5/10ths... 😎😂🤣

I hope that will be enough because I won't be going back...
1- because I'm fed up with the Schleife and 😂
2- because my last lap ended up in the rails of the “Karussel”...
I was 6/10 ahead of the record lap I had just completed...😡🤬😡😡🤬🤬

The disappointment is too great, I'm quitting...😂

Thanks to Zaxs for his video... and his lap times... it really helps me to know if I'm at the right pace... more than the ghost I choose, which resets itself...👍

Now, if the English alien could go on a snow vacation somewhere where there's no internet,
that would suit everyone just fine...🤣🤣🤣

Morning everyone - few interrupted laps this morning but grabbed enough time to lock in at the 'Ring. Whereas yesterday I felt close to the limit and maybe a few tenths were left, I now can see a way to an 8'53". As it is, I've managed to find three quarters of a second over yesterday, have an optimal of 8:53.485, and finished the session with some very sweaty hands :lol:!!

New pair of laps at NBG with the Elantra, went from 9:33.441 to 9:18.868, still in bronze but close to silver. Followed a (9:05.XXX) ghost this time but I need to change my settings, on such a long and sometimes twisty track, I need to put it a bit more in front (was 0.1s)
 
I think I may need to take apart my pedals to get to the gas pedal potentiometer because it's definitely starting to flake more noticeably now. I first noticed it way back on the Polestar 5 TT, and it seemed like blowing it out (with my mouth) and giving it a few stomps did the trick - for a while at least. Started noticing it again at the Nurburgring TT. I've got an air duster now, but I need to aim it a bit better and hopefully get dust out from the pot (maybe), but I think it isn't going to fully resolve itself and will eventually get worse.

In lieu of making a new thread, and based on what I've seen in some others (plus elsewhere online), it seems like this would be a good route, and an upgrade that is sealed and won't have issues in the future:

And while I'm at it (and to get free shipping, I believe), I'm thinking this would be a great upgrade to the brake pedal, also eliminating any potential future potentiometer issues:
 
another go with the RB TT going to be on it every day its 😍 feel maybe a high 32. is in it 🥵 that last double right 1 is killing me and the first corner needs luck with the bounce use only ABS ... switch a few times between weak and default still not sure whats best 😅

Another go at the Hyundai today, bit of a scrappy session where I learnt a lot in the last four or five sectors but kept making a mess of the Nurburgring GP circuit and the final corner so never really got to realise all the time I’ve improved on elsewhere

I’m into the ‘51s but still a way of @bliprunner ’s outrageous time; I think I’d have to string together a number of PB sectors to beat it and I’m not sure I have the consistency with this car, slightly over driving it seems to cost tons of time!

Still, improvement is improvement!
