My gold score from Daytona is far the worst placing I had when I was gold, but maybe in TTs overall.
This is my 25th gold.

Didn't put many attention in this one, since I saw that it must be done from wrong side of track, that should have been invalidated immediately...
 
I'm not complaining, it just crossed my mind. Wouldn't the Mclaren F1 MP4/4 1988 be a better choice for this TT?

So many history between that car and this japanese track. And of course, it's a F1 race weekend at that exact track.....

Not complaining, just saying that PD decision making process it's always strange.

Apologies for the slight delay today! Not sure chainsaws in the background would have helped (Had trees cut down). The Pad Gold took me a little longer than normal to however, Wheel and Pad laps as well as a detailed guide are here for you :)! I expect Rank 1 to get into the 36's on this!

You could try TC1 and CSA strong as an alternative. Worked for me.

Am I saying something stupid thinking that with high powered car CSA has very less effect than TC, while on medium-poor power it is the opposite?

I mean speaking from the angle of a driver with skill limitation of not being able to dose the power and not being able to recorver from happy tail effect

For Fuji TT if I go too harsly on the gas there is no CSA that saves me

Don't know but i felt like i could get on the throttle much earlier with CSA strong while the car stayed perfectly stable. More TC on the other side seems to really hamper acceleration a lot here i read somewhere.

This is going to be a very tough one to crack. WR is currently 1:37.277, and people already struggle to get gold.

Came home from work to see what the new one is and almost puked.. Suzuka is awesome but the car is.. well.. not so awesome 🙈

Went to the moon in 130R 😂

If my gold streak holds with Fuji it will definitly end here 😅

You can't just drop such juicy titbits of information and leave us hanging like that, @Famine . What's this "wacky characteristics" you write of? Sounds like whatever it was didn't make it into the full version of the game.

3 consecutive laps until the battery runs out is not sufficient for me to set a decent lap. I don't understand why this is again/still the case in a time trial with equal conditions and unlimited fuel.

One might assume the VGTs are the pinnacle of modern theoretical car design, but this TT feels like yet another example of childish over the top stats paired with unrefined and unbalanced driving characteristics.

After a first stint of many, many retries where I've lost count how many times the car tried to kill me @130R I'm almost sitting in gold. Sub 40 should be achievable, but I simply cannot describe how unfun this combo is to me.

Soft tires are the most grippy tires you can get in each category (comfort, sport, and race).

Softer tires allow for more traction, but wear faster than medium and harder compounds.

The RS tires on this Mclaren VGT are the tires with the most grip in the game.
 
Just to join in the chorus - Yes, I love the track. But the car is ugly and stupid and frankly not that fun to drive. What is wrong with using real cars exactly? There are so many classic real cars in the game that never get used, or are used once in a daily or a TT and then are never seen again. But no, we have to drive around in a silly made up thing with a billion horsepower.

Was doing Daytona till the early hours, Was getting tired and pulled out an Improvement of .001 and gained no places :), and Finished 39th, Fastest UK Time, I'll take that :) , My best placing on TT's

It seems like I picked a good week to be out of town to visit my parents. A VGT at Suzuka isn't my ideal combo choice.

Instead, I get to hang out with my little buddies!

Cleo - very fluffy. Typically asocial but actually greeted me this time. It's a first.

Carl - a bit of a dope. My sister rescued him from a dumpster when he was a year old. Had some kind of growth removed from the side of his face recently, which is why his eye appears the way it does.

Ahh, thanks. I misinterpreted the article because with the specific mention of the beta version of the game, I got the impression that the McLaren VGT had something really wacky in the beta version of the game, but was removed from the final release.
