Yep, that's it for me with the Gr3 around Suzuka. Gr3 is just too sweaty for me.

Although this may be one of my better laps at Suzuka, I choked the final chicane and left 2 tenths on the table. Could have been on for a .6 but the pressure got to me and I missed the braking point for the chicane and went a bit wide.

Gave 3 different cars a try, firstly the RCF which I found to be a bit of a boat, moving to the AMG gave me an immediate improvement of 3 tenths. Last night I tried the M6, but that also felt pretty boaty, but it can take 130r flat for some reason which is a bonus. In the end returned to the AMG for the best lap, it has a substantially more aggressive turn in than the others and just generally more pleasant to drive, especially through S1 and 2.

Split times are against a 59.075 for reference

280 kms and can’t make it through della Roggia. Nothing kills the joy of driving or racing more than chicanes.
Try 500kms, and you can make a pretty risk free bet that making through della Roggia will be immediately followed by not making it through the Lesmo's.

I find Eiger very difficult, the second last corner is eating me alive, cannot break gold. You are a full second up on me.
The entire final sector of this track has a difficulty level approaching insanity!

Get it slightly wrong and you lose minimum 1 tenth. That's If you're line isn't compromised, If your line becomes compromised you lose half a second.

I'm just relieved I was able to bank a mid .4 so I can maintain my DG Edge score.

isn't update today ?
I didn't realise and yes, it appears it was today. Odd that they moved from Thu to Wed. And it is not because they'll all be on the beach tomorrow:

Q: Is tomorrow a significant day in Japan?

A: No, tomorrow, September 25th, is not a national holiday or widely recognized observance in Japan. The most recent significant day was Autumn Equinox Day (Shūbun no Hi) on September 23rd, which is a national holiday marking the change of seasons and a time for visiting family graves and honoring ancestors. The next public holiday in Japan after that will be National Foundation Day on February 11, 2026, followed by the Emperor's Birthday on February 23, 2026.

Tonight is a Playstation State of Play, so the gaming headlines tomorrow will be full of that. PD probably wanted to have their content (and Opel collab) get a bit of airtime beforehand.

6TTs? Madness!

On Wednesday, when I saw the challenge, I said to myself, ‘Try to get the silver medal and that will be good’... and after a few laps, I hadn't changed my mind, quite the contrary...😅

I waited for the guides from Tidge and Mistah, as well as a few videos from aliens, to understand how to quickly pass the right/left of S1... and I exceeded all my expectations...🤔😂

I just made it into gold territory, but with an optimal time of 1' 16.000...!! What a surprise... So I pushed a little harder to get to 1'16.322...😂😂

That should be enough, so I can focus on the two new TT...:gtpflag:

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Online Time Trial: Hit for Six

An absolutely bumper crop of events is now available in the Gran Turismo 7 Online Time Trial section, with this week’s early update seeing two new challenges added to the list alongside the regular Thursday events and some special events...

lol.....well, the Elantra is pretty easy, even for me, so for a lot of people....
obviously, it's going to go down.....and by a lot...

But with the Opel, the problem is that you have to boost it...
only it only works for one lap!!!... after that, it's empty...

I'm waiting for Tidgney's guide, which is currently P1, to find out how to use this thing... 😂 😂 😂

I hate every TT with a passion where a restart every lap is necessary to be competitive.

Usually those are ones like the recent Willow Springs or the ultra hard rally cross at Barcelona where you absolutely have to take a detour for a runup. Now it is an empty boost after one lap. That's just dumb and massively spoils the fun.

What I tend to do with these ones and actually this one was to do 5 or 6 laps (only a 1 min a lap) build some consistency in my times and then go for a fast lap that uses the “whatever it is magic go faster thing”

That’s how I approach these 5 laps to get up to speed one attack lap, repeat.

It does have the bonus of really building in muscle memory and confidence

This. It's stupid. Why couldn't the boost just reset at the line each time

All well and good building muscle memory until you end up at the last corner on your flying lap arriving at 3 boosts faster speed and then you end up going straight into the gravel because your braking point is built into the memory bank!

I mean that’s not really muscle memory or tactically what the common way is?

Use the boost thing on the straight and lift/brake as needed which isn’t much?

For clarity the strat is:

Boost 3 times down the straight
Boost 1 time to the finish line

The rest is just drive it in it’s weird way?

Suzuka, Mercedes AMG.

2:01,162

I had it after the hairpin on a sub 2:00.800 schedule and gaining but I just completely messed up the chicane before start/finish.

And now my time's up damnit. Optimals at 2:00,322. I could have golded this, so frustrating to be stuck on silver🤣

Another quick spin on the TTs tonight. I improved at NurGP, but for the Opel, I'm only in silver because I haven't quite mastered driving on grass yet... 😂 😂 😂

In fact, it's more of a ‘circuit experience’ since you have to restart every lap...
a bit like at Willows the other time when you had to go behind the cones... it's tedious......😠😅

I had the massive urge to get my first and probably last chance at a hex-fecta of TT golds. While the Elantra was easy (and pleasant) it took me over 300 km in the Corsa.

Weirdly the Corsa was still fun even though I massively struggled with T1, T3, the left hander after the wiggly section and of course the entrance of the back straight. T1 was especially frustrating because hitting the exact turn in point and then not get yeeted by accidentally hitting the inside curb was super hard for me. And if I managed that I usually screwed up the blind T3 or at least massively compromising my exit speed out of it.

In my gold lap I managed a nice exit out of the wiggly part.

I am not so sure it'll hold but if the stars align then 3 to 5 tenths should be doable for me.

Well, like I said already, an abysmal TT. Largely (or really, entirely) due to how this car had to and was unable to attack and ride the della Roggia chicane kerbs. When that lotto finally hits you still got Lesmo I and II as well as Ascari left though. Almost embarrassing to admit but this took me 1,170 kms. Fortuna wasn’t really with me. In my opinion, an F tier TT. Anyway, that’s enough about that, moving on...
HELL YEAH SPEC III! :bowdown::cheers::gtpflag::cheers::bowdown:

Finally conquered that chicane (My only Achilles hell in otherwise decent laps). Now ontop of my successful gold attempt at Suzuka, thats a cool 4 Million Credits headed my way.

The elantra was a fairly easy gold within 5 laps. Now, our electric friend is quite the ride, talk about a Rollercoaster. Got her down to gold but it won't hold so will need to go again, needless to say it took 5 laps or so to adjust to the immense grip at every corner except the 2nd right at the double right complex.

Quite the thrill ride but will need to find an 8.1 or .2 to be safe I think.
