Improved my situation at The Glen by a fair margin tonight. Still some work to do...

I can't for the life of me understand how you guys are holding 4th gear in turn 4(?, the left hand kink up the hill). I just over-rotate and bog like crazy, and my fastest times have me in third through there.
Less steering input is key here. The more time the front wheels are ''free'' and not at an angle, the faster you will go. This applies to the entire lap.
If you find the car starting to bog down, let go of the throttle a bit, it will straighten itself out and you will be able to put the power down.

Good luck

With the Yaris seemingly in the bag, I had a go with the Chaparral. I found this one tougher than I thought I would. For 1/2 hour I was stuck at 3.03% then I finally got a good lap.

That has me 3 for 3 for this session.

Perhaps I’ll watch a lap guide and see if I can squeeze some more time before the end.

@EbrahimX7 : Could you please stop pushing me out of silver at Bluemoon Bay? Thank you so much🙏

edit

Got back to silver....for the last time, I hope😉

Thank you for mentioning the Chap. I like high downforce cars and the track but think that this is rather difficult to gold. Perhaps most play in the dirt right now but I had a silber position among the top 6.000 at the weekend... It will be tough!

Thank you.

PB - in terms of global position? Probably not as my best is 27th. Currently 20th (another slight improvement after last post) but that's going to drop a lot over the next week and a bit.

Ghost - Happy to. Just tell me how to.
Edit: I think I've done it. Saved the replay with friends from showcase. Search tag hscolorado
Thanks. Looking forward. Question was about global position. Also, How much you need to become a rocketman :)

Out of curiosity, what clicked for you to improve from 26 flat to find few tenths? Was it Mistah MCA guide tips? Or some new approach you figured out yourself? What in that case?

(had few days over weekend where I had pretty much a lot of free time and now few days where I probably wont turn PS on att all, but as soon as I can I will chase you. )

About improving... I know I was even wondering before, how P2 can find more time to improve. For me it was interesting to watch Lucky, that is P2 now, what he is doing. Whoever wants to spend hours of watching failed attempts in Yaris on Colorado, but still learn something, as example how he is testing, this gear here, new line here... here is his YT.

Camit P1 ... No surprise there.
I hope he shared a ghost, did he?
Camit shared the video of the best run on his profile.

There have been some good times here on the forum, especially those who manage to get gold, and there won't be any more players with better results because rally events are like one per year and people don't feel motivated.

It's noticeable that the Yaris is the car of choice for dirt tracks, which is equally regrettable in a universe of dozens of accessible cars in the game. Anyway, that's what we have.

I am following Camit and I have checked his profile ( a day-two ago) but could not find it. I only found a photo. Can you help how to find replay?

To initially get into the 1:25s I looked at Lucky's lap (when he had a 1:24.873) in great detail and copied him where I could. I can't copy all he does - for example the left just after sector 1 he stays full throttle and brakes a bit. I can't do that, so just lift instead.

Then I spent some time yesterday studying his latest lap again to find improvements, particularly in the middle sector, where I am furthest away from his sector time (0.8 seconds versus nil in S1 and 0.2 in S3). In the video below the spoiler I've added some text to my replay to point out the key things I was focusing on. You may need to pause to read some of it and the clean version is here if you want to watch it without text. I've not commented on S1 as I suspect you know what to do there.

I'm sure you'll catch me before long. As will many others!

Thanks for sharing that. We assume the guys at the top just jump in and do consecutive perfect laps, but it seems they are just like the rest of us; lots of mistakes and retries.

@half_sourly thank you very much for all effort to explain in such detail. I think I am over-driving it a bit. It seems that lifting off here and there gets you through turns faster. I mean I realized that in turn 1 already, now I need to try to see if few points of lifting off in S2 can get me faster through whole lap.

Once again thanks for such detailed explanation.

You are welcome. Only right given the amount you've helped me in the past.
