Mmm.... ok challenge, but it handles less great than I expected....

But I truelly can't stand the way they implemented the anti engine braking shenanigans.....I understand that the über yeeeting in a lower gear is eliminated but for example, I would like to hit second gear to rotate into T7 by engine brake but that's kind of difficult now 😡🤣🤣

I will say for me in VR it’s not as jarring as you brake more sensitively naturally like in a real car so the engine braking is more shifted to the coasting zone rather than the entry phase for me.

It’s the god awful big turbo oversteer that is annoying as hell for me.

Yeah, I can't imagine a R34 handles like this, but then again.... maby it does, I never had thr opportunity to yeeet one 🤣

I’m looking forward to the next two time trials, although reading about the changes to engine breaking are making me a little apprehensive. I tried to incorporate more engine breaking into my driving as it is clearly faster in some cases then waiting for the revs to come down… did PD make a noticeable change? Or maybe I’m overthinking it.

Don’t over think it, you don’t lose time you just need to be smoother that’s it, rather than forcing artificial turn in or line tightening.

banging down the box was just a quick short cut to certain corner entries.

I'm kind of on a roll. Never using TC unless I am absolutely hopeless has already paid off. I'm much smoother on the throttle now. Feels kind of like when I learned to trail break but the other way around now.

Spa is always fun. I usually have a tough time in Gr. 1 and up due to them aliens being able to do much more alien things in them. That only seems to be true when there are lots of high speed corners involved like at Le Mans. Or maybe I'm just good at Spa I don't know.

Since I already felt good I attempted the Squealstar again. Nice improvement.

I found a new method to get decent shots from replays without the need to enter the photo mode (I don't like it).
I used to switch to the cinematic mode and try to pause when the picture was good. Often that was both cumbersome and unsatisfactory.

Now I switch to chase cam and then use the right stick to find a nice angle. That approach is also a bit limited but at least the car is in focus and you can somewhat decide where to point the camera. I fortunately you can't change perspective anymore once you have paused the replay.

Now this is a bit better, still a tenth in it, I figured out almost everything except the long left hander where I understeer into oblivion if I don't modulate the throttle massively, and if I do, the top ghost just walks away... And of course, still struggling with the exit to the back straight. But progress has been made somewhat :D
