After a bit of a hiatus, SPEC III + Power Pack has drawn me back in. Today I tried my hand at all three time trials. Videos below.

Espace F1 is alot of fun. It's quite stable on the softs but prone to understeer as expected. Pretty happy with my lap although I have a bit more time in me there. Some of the track limits were driving me nuts haha.

Mine's at Tsukuba was a lot of fun! That car is so much fun to throw around, manageable oversteer and makes you feel like a master :D. I think this lap should stick for gold, which is the goal, but if it becomes too close for comfort I'll re-visit. I have more time in me there for sure.

Gr.1 at Spa, saw that the 919 was dominating so I went straight for it. Really love that car, and my lap time was the first valid lap I set, but on lap 7. Laps 1-6 were all invalidated due to striking bollards :D. I'm in the top 700-ish with this time at 1.7%, which is among my better results. Still early of course so I will fall further, but really happy with this lap. Love love love driving prototypes in VR 🤩





 
Tough luck Jeddah at Brands :(. The Tskuba TT is kind of fun, kind of frustrating, looks like it could favour controller users, they seem to be able utilise some kind of anti understeer turn-in into the hairpins.

It was quite late already and I was really tired, so considering this I think this is a promising start. I don't know if it's a VR thing like @newmedia_dev suggested, but I didn't have any problems with the new downshift mechanics either. Perhaps two or three times in the beginning it happened to me that a downshift wasn't registered, but it didn't feel unnatural.

What I will say is: as you know I'm usually a big proponent of using assists and generally don't buy into the idea that TCS, when used sensibly, makes you significantly slower. Here however I could hardly get below 58 s even with TCS 1, while switching to TCS 0 made me faster immediately. Could just be anecdotal, could be the car, or perhaps something that happened in the update. We'll see ...

As promised I did some testing RPM wise.... I have to rectificate my early findings 🤣
You can get the GTR in the ref limiter on the downshift so apparently that was not my problem, what do notice is that it is harder to dubbele shift in both ways, up and down, and indeed a few missed, downshift fail can still be due to the fact that i am to quick, upshift not, very annoying in the forlast corner for the backstraight if you sudden notice your still in 2nd ....

So....les bad that I yelled in the beginning, sorry 🤣

After the GTR on to Spa for some laps, I'm not that good in the GR1 cars, just to fast for me, so wanted a save gold, this should do it

Yup, exactly the thing I said, terrible...

In my second session this morning I stopped using 1st gear altogether after seeing that P2 does not use it either, so no double up or down shifts for me. Worked out great. Dropped to 57.426. P56 for now.

Le Mans has never clicked for me, don't know why 🤷. So yeah, same here minus the "this should do it" part ... I am a 2.9 %, so I guess I have to go again 🤣
 
Hey folks - had some time this morning in the Nissan and then at Spa. Tsukuba first - man, the hairpins 🤷‍♂️… trying to be consistent but the time fluctuates so wildly dependent on hairpin exit x3. Got there in the end, but not sure if there’s any more time for me in the lap.

Moved to Spa - lots of fun, tried the Porsche but found the Audi easier to drive faster and more consistently. Threw away a 2:00.25 coming out of the bus stop chicane which was frustrating, but clearly more time in the lap. Will try and get under 2’00.

My first session with the Mines. After figuring out the driving style to not be spinning out the wheels I enjoyed this. I prefer short track. After being at 58.003 for a while I finally got a lap in the 57s. 😁

I’m not looking forward to Spa with Gr1.
