Got into gold in the Spa event too...

Agreed, didn't find it particularly nice to drive, at least not at Tsukuba... Had pretty much the same time you got there for a while but eventually (after too long) I got a pretty good fluke lap in and managed to equal my average delta of 0,92%, we’ll take that.

Struggling with finding time and motivation, especially now. Been drowning at work but finally the last day tomorrow before some nice days off for real. Would've preferred to do something more fun than drive the R18/919 at Spa but hey ho...

Oh, the downshift block thing feels strangely implemented, really not liking it at all. With the Mine’s BNR34 here sometimes it was like it completely refused to downshift, even the “first” downshift from 4th to 3rd into T1. Really weird.

I agree, I've noticed the downshift block being extremely poorly implemented in all three active time trials.

I had a beer pairing today (drinking most of my wife's beer, too) saw I was now in 95th, and after a lot of swearing, I got a 57.173 out of nowhere at Tsukuba.

I do not have a chance in hell of improving on that I don't think. 🤣

Any tips on Tsukuba please? I can't even get out of bronze, would be happy with silver at this point. What assists are everyone using?
Haven't done it since the first day but the key is basically...

  • About half way round the hairpins get on the power in 3rd, rotate the car and power out
  • Only use 2nd for turning and coasting, you don't want to use it for acceleration

I only used ABS weak.

I've had this problem now twice in the last two nights? What could possibly be causing that that is specific to Spec III?
In fact I spoke too fast, I still have disconnections! Did you find a solution?

Active Countersteering assistance on strong it will help you

What people said above - get on the throttle MUCH earlier than you think you need to, about midway through the corner so you're just coming into boost when you exit - otherwise you need to sit through all that turbo lag as you exit. I had Countersteer Assist on strong so I could run TC on 0, and I actually seemed to find ABS on Default was helping me here most of the time for the three hairpins, in that it would dedicate some braking force to turning - similar to rolling off the brake pedal, which after a while, my foot/leg wouldn't always let me do.

Have you watched @Tidgney 's video? Even though I deviated a bit from there to keep dropping down time (mainly downshifting in the corner to get extra rotation before upshifting to accelerate), the lines and brake markers are still what I've been using all along.

I swear to God these time trials frustrate the F outta me. I want to throw my controller out the window.

I usually follow Tigneys guides on YouTube and I think I hit the brake markers correctly. I'm pretty good at knowing where they are at Spa especially, but I cannot for the life of me get below a 2"05

I try to get close as I can to the green bumpers especially around Les Fagines but the moment I touch one, my lap time is invalidated. It drives me effing nuts... and please don't suggest to "just get a wheel" - trust me I would love to but right now Its not in my budget.

Ok - I'm done.... ugh

* rant over *

I feel your pain and trust me, the bollards are no less forgiving with a wheel. The bollards invalidating laps instead of painted track limits is one of the great annoyances of GT7.

It wouldn't be easier on a wheel (don't ask how I know) and many players in the top of the rankings are on controller.

One thing you can do is share your lap here, there are plenty of very skilled and knowledgeable players that could give you good hints and maybe detect things you do you are not aware of.

got into .15 on Barcelona with the WRX but don't think i can go faster ... Merry Christmas to all of you
Was surprised to see some WRX in the top of the leaderboard, I should try it.

Tried various cars on this TT, 10 laps each stint. First my beloved Silvia Takata, which got me to bronze, then the Citroën that most people seem to use, but in VR left corner of windshield is pretty obscured, I did a little bit better than with the Silvia, probably not due to the car only though, better knowledge of the track helped.

Went on to the Genesis G70, because I appreciated it in a previous TT, although I found noone using it in the first pages of the leaderboard. Immediately improved a good bit, went into silver.

After that I tried the Huracan, which best ranking was in top 20 and that I also previously used and appreciated, but I was much slower than with the Genesis.

Went back to the Genesis and improved again. Plus another go, no improvement on best lap, but medium over 10 laps and worst lap are much better, less mistakes made.

Not so far from gold.

It is also my first TT with a wheel and I am having a lot of fun. Feels slow but it's fun.

ive tried the Citro but the view in VR is terrible the g70 is faster but i found the WRX much better in the corners and the view is splendid in VR.

Morning all,

First things first ofcourse!

Merry Christmas, happy holidays, time to spend less time on the asfalt and more time with family and love ones...... except when they are sleeping...so ....morning runs! 🤣

My .341 at Tsukuba almost fell out of the top 100 (96) so needed to go again despite I realy hate the handling on this R34!

But the goal was to secure top 100, a .249 should do it, and im glad it's over 🤣
VERY bad for thr cramps on the left hander due to the trailbraking last turn 🤪

ABS on default here

Hey guys, Merry Christmas!!

I've had a long hiatus with work and other stuff this year, but finally I have some free time (for at least a couple of weeks).

I haven't gotten back into the TTs yet because I wanted to try out the new PowerPack.

I hope it's not inappropriate to ask on this thread, but I'm curious if any of the guys that hang out here have tried out the PP and what you think

Last night's effort at Spa. R18 felt better to me than the 919, especially on exits where the latter would understeer more. The 919 also cuts the hybrid if you steer too much for example after the second split, whereas the R18’s hybrid keeps pushing you forward. Just like the Mine’s BNR34 I managed to equal my avg delta of 0,92% yet again. Slightly surprised how many people are so quick in Gr.1 but for me that's a pretty decent time.

Merry Christmas to everyone in here, take it cool and easy!
