1:29.290 on controller. Think I'm done for this one, the car is too sketchy and the curbs try to kill you the second your tires make contact. Based on my best splits, a best possible time would be probably a sub 29 but I didn't enjoy this combo enough to push for that so I'm leaving this one be. Till Thursday I guess.

Happy New Year everyone!

First attempt with the Zonda went quite well. I had some initial struggles with the fast right-hander at the end of S1 (turn 5) which kept launching me off the track, but after some time I developed some muscle memory for mounting the curb correctly, so now the main make-it-or-break-it section is of course the 🐔 of 💀. Luckily the lap isnt too long and hitting the barrier does not invalidate the next one, so frustration is kept in check.

This puts me at the top of my friends board atm which is a bit surprising since it‘s almost certainly not enough for top 100. So let‘s see what you guys still have in store ;)

Morning folks,

My goal this morning was to hit a '29 in the Zonda, the good thing is that I did... well into sub 30 with a .....1:29.999 😂

the bad thing is that i am already fed up with the combo, sector one is just to much of a lotery for me, if I'm airborn more than half of the the funfactor drops kind of hard.

Great car, realy nice handling, just a wrong track to push it imo.

CoD was kind of close..... and we can claim that mirrors don't invalidate 😂

(I did a edit in sharefactory again without HDR and 120hz but I think colours are worse again)

Great time dude!!! Very quick i may find your ghost today and give da zonda anotha crack! Those mirrors must have folded in the death chikeanneee!

On the video side. I noticed sharefactory is using the orignal footage in-game which in itself is usually washed out and has no colourful Grade to it, like your TV or PS5 wud add to make the game look nicer. Its good for a timed reference clip but for show not so much. You dont need 120hz when exporting just keep it at a good solid 60fps when exporting is plenty good. Please go slower next time ya alien lol.

I may have reached my limit with Grand Valley. This might be the best I can do.

Well, it was a fun one to learn what the various settings of the steering wheel can do. Now to see if these work with any other vehicle or track

I might still come back to it though. I so want to be in the top 200.
Which wheel and what settings have you adjusted?

Happy newyear buddy, may you become a bit slower in 2026 😁😂
That's not a bad time for a "first try" 😱 I said this before but it looks so smooth and planted when I compare your lap to mine 😂
I tried CSA and TCS on the controller this morning but I just loose all feeling so back to ABS only.

ZEE

Thanks mate!, I Uploaded a new ghost just now, a little faster 😁 (Saved as ZondaJSP)
Yeah, problem indeed seems sharefactory, too bad cause i like to put my screenshot in the export, but it is what it is, I did upload another SF though , i am a slow learner 🙈 😂😂 good luck with Zonda, she' feisty 😂

That said,

This was one out of way to many laps, had a bunch on .9xx, fewer .8xx.... no .7xx.... and one .6 😂😂

Lost some time in the very last corner and I turned in a little to quick at the second righthander after chicane number one, almost hitting the barrier, what didn't help too 😂

I though it was over but got away with it 😂

@crome i tried my best!, wasn't enough 😂

No promises there buddy 🤣

Well I try to apply the "slow is smooth, smooth is fast" mantra as much as I can, and I think CSA and TCS help me out in that regard indeed. But also, the video does not show how I am sweating my butt off trying to keep the car stable in the S'es 🤣

Phew! Too close for comfort though. I've seen this movie before ... many times ;)

Went back to Grand Valley since I have few tenths there to catch...
Oh boy... This sector 2 split time should have been 1:53.*** But sector 3 first left hander out of short tunnel is still mystery for me..

But lap ended like this...

I mean it's not bad but obviously it can be better, I have opportunity to learn more 🙂

I thought you adjusted torque and FFB sensitivity?
Oh, I did do all that. I just specified the wheel because my settings are particular to that. I’ll post up my settings later on the GTDD pro thread.

Had a good session today in the Zonda at Dragon Trail, with a sector 1 in the 30.3xx. Into the 1:29s. I'll keep running it for a few more days, but replicating that sector 1 time is difficult. Still, there will be more time for me to find in sectors 2 & 3 if I can get consistent in sector 1. The chicane of death (I absolutely love calling it the "chicken of death" :)) is a matter of keeping speed up above 140 mph or so, managing the throttle on entry, getting the turn-in angle just enough so you can kiss the left-hand barrier and finessing it past the right-hand barrier... easier said then done. Oh man...that engine sound...now this is what a car should sound like!! TCS on 0, CSA on strong.

Congrats on hitting the '29's ! , you are getting faster and faster!

Your S1 is very good, better than mine on the PB run, a tenth :boggled: ,
S2 seems to be the key for you if i look at my sheet because S3 is quite good too!

Well done!

Belated Happy New Year guys, hope you all had a great break!!

I've been away for some time, for a range of reasons, but I'll be back soon, and now I have a wheel courtesy of my wife 😎

I have been still grafting Golds in most of the TTs, but still on the controller as I practice the transition to the wheel. If anyone has any tips for the controller to wheel switch, let me know (thanks to @Ian JB for his great tips)

It's a pretty big transition so be patient, took me about 3 months to get back my controller pace. YMMV but I found I needed to turn in earlier with the wheel, it's like there's almost this milisecond delay vs the very direct inputs of the controller.

I'd suggest going back and doing all the licenses and circuit experiences again from the beginning (assuming you have the time of course)

Thank you for the kind words! if I have improved, it is 100% because I stand on the shoulders of all the amazingly fast people here :) I'll keep soaking up those alien vibes as long as y'all keep sending them my way

Nice setup!! My advice would be to take the time to properly tweak the ergonomics to your body - wheel angle & height if adjustable, pedal height, angle, and distance of the pedals so that you're as comfortable as possible. Make a few adjustments, drive a bit, and adjust from there. When I first transitioned to a wheel, I didn't tweak the ergonomics at all, and I gripped the wheel way too tightly... I felt it bad a few days later. Your body will thank you  Also grip the wheel lightly so that you feel the resistance and FFB it's giving you, because that's the car's way of telling you how much you can push.

After couple of days without any motivation to sit down and drive, let alone compete, and with the wife and kids out of town for a week, tonight was finally the night :)

I really really love this TT, Zonda is a joy to drive and throw around. I was immediately good in the first sector, regularly clocking .250-300, had a couple of .180-190s, but the esses were a nightmare. Finally figured it out after 30 attempts, the braking point for the first left hander is the key, and it's literally milimeters, if you go just a tad late, you lose the whole sector, if you go a milisecond too early you hit the first curb and lose the whole sector. So perfect timing and absolute precision are required to nail S2, going right to the edge but not touching the sharp part of the curb at any point or corner.

After that is was just luck in the chicken of death, had a couple of good runs, but ruined the last corner (which I still don't understand completely, I take it OK, but the WR ghost still walks away). I believe I can go into the .1xx with a proper S3, I will try in the next few days :)

I got some more time out of the Zonda TT, but not much - only a 1:30.921, which has to be one of my worst showings that I can remember in quite a while at ~2500th. If it's not the damn car itself trying to kill my lap, its the curbs or that horrible, horrible chicane. I need to rewatch Tidgney's video because his ghost is just pulling a train on me in places where if I get on the throttle any quicker, I'm going in a circle - CSA is seemingly not doing very much help here in those instances. I'd like to improve, but I just don't know if I have the patience to run head on into a wall 40 times in a row.

That is a proper result, you have become untoutchable 😂, you're hauullling with them big boys now 😂 well done!

For me.....it just takes way to many lotery laps to hit all the curbs at the exact right no flight point, I think if I had a descent run a 4xx should be possible but like you said....motivation 😂😂
