A few laps in Germany last night, went from 9'15 to 9'08.3xx using Zax's lap times...Thanks for the video.

I don't know if I can find 3.5 seconds for gold... but in 9 minutes, maybe I can find a second here and a second there, etc...

and at the moment, after a few Weekly races, I went to Monza and surprise: after 6 laps: 1'48.334...😮😮😂😂

2.75%... I hope it lasts 10 days...😂

And CGV doesn't tempt me...😕☹️

Somewhat happy with this time although my sector 1 was a .4xx (mega fail). I switched to default ABS, which seemed to help marginally with braking performance and stability through corners.

Akagi's final sector was faultless so it's gonna be a tough lap to beat for someone, not me though as I'm done!

Happy to grab P2!!

Morning folks - good few laps at the ‘Ring this morning. So easy to overdrive this car and soak up time with wheelspin, but pretty happy with this one. Not sure I have a 54 in me but will keep trying. Close at the top there @330_D and @crome!

Wow nice one! I am actually very happy already with my lap, but of course a few tenths are nothing on this long track, so who knows ;)

For me things are great until I hit the back half of the Nordschleife (after the Karussell). I wish I could properly practice only this part. It‘s so annoying to optimize every last hundredth until minute 6 and then having to watch the seconds slip through my fingers. Great fun though, and a great workout as well 🤣

Also congrats @330_D of course. Good to see you back on top once again!

I am quite surprised to see the GTPlanet drivers struggling with the Nurburgring 24h combo. I just gave my first session a go today and managed an 8:52.837 and was thinking that was slow. I forgot to screenshot but it's fine I'm gonna be improving it anyway.

I wish my board looked similar... 😂 But thank you my friend. I still am around here, just not as active. Less time to play and post. Still trying to gold trials I like (the combos lately haven't been too stellar honestly) but I skip a lot more than I ever used to...

Morning,

I have absolutely no intention to get back in the AMG, more than ever i'm realy struggling for motivation on a second week of a trial.
weirdly i also have zero motivation for the ring, for me it's just the 24h layout, Nordschleife itself would have been more than enough for this combo so couldn't realy get the mojo for that one....
So the only way for a quick meaningfull hotlaps would be the Yello Mircowave at Monza so did run a few, still hate it
I guess a '45 is possible so maby i'll try to get it....IF i wake up early by myself, if not.... the alarmclock goes from GT7-o-clock an hour later ;):)

i won 30 places back

Congrats! I can't speak for others, but for me it's simply the case that it usually takes me a good number of laps to learn a combo and approach my limit, at the expense of many invalidated laps. And that approach does not scale with a 9-minute long track with over 70 corners. The PB I have is one of only four laps I even finished, despite spending 90 minutes or so at the ring. For most combos I need three to four laps to even get into gold, so ... 🤷

Go ahead and try it, it's free credits...
Thanks for the encouragement, but look, I'm at 98 million... I don't know what to do with all that money...
When I reach the limit, I buy a car for 20 million...😂....I already have four or five duplicates...

Or else, I don't finish the races... Once I'm in the lead, I give up...

I have about 380/400 cars and don't want to buy any more...
I've equipped and tuned them all myself so that they're enjoyable to drive and easy to win with...

about thirty or more in 500-550-600pp, the same in 700, etc., etc...
so I don't always have to drive the same one... that's enough for me...

Besides, now, when I think about the hours spent driving around Le Mans or Sardinia to fill the coffers...😂

luckily there was at least some pleasure in driving...😂😂

edit:

On GTsport, there was a line in the car selection, under: sort by... At the very bottom, there was the number of wins each car had achieved...
I had bought all the cars and won at least twice with each one...

But unfortunately, that line has disappeared in GT7.☹️☹️☹️ 😂😂

This Sunday I set up alarm and get up at 5.
First few FC26 matches and then 24h Elantra.

And I did big, 1.6 seconds improvement!
But no changes in sense of gold, bcs some alien-alien made full second of lead and now id is gold 9:04.8

Here is my lap, direct capture:

What do you, better drivers, think?
Some advice..

When I watch your video, I feel like I'm behind the wheel myself... which is normal, because we're within a few tenths of a second of each other...😀

Then when I watch Jomar's video below, that's what I'd like to do... it's just more aggressive, more feisty...😂

He's often in third gear when we're in fourth, or vice versa. On the long, gentle uphill slope, he stays in fifth gear while we shift into sixth fairly early, which gives us an extra 3 km/h, etc.

We often brake too late, which means we miss quite a few apexes and end up in a bad position coming out of the corner, while Jomar accelerates again much earlier... and we gain a few tenths of a second again...☹️

There are 9 days left, I think, with a few more kilometres to go, we can find those 3-4 seconds...

Come on Zax, let's go for the gold medal... 😂 😂

Hi guys, I was away for a few days - guess what I was doing? Yes, the CGV TT with the Merc  After my initial 42.904 lap, I knew I had more time to gain, that lap was done with a very bad hairpin exit and a below average last chicane where I lost 2 or even 3 tenths easy.

So from then on it was a grind, 4 nights in a row, changing t-shirts, streching after a long stint and then continuing, I think I've never spent so much time on a TT, with an embarrasing number of attempts, but I said to myself - it must be done, no matter the cost or the time it took me. I had many many amazing sectors 1, sectors 2, completely matching the WR ghost, even gaining at some points, but the third sector, I just couldn't manage, couldn't figure out or execute properly and threw away countless number of great laps there, be it in the hairpin or the chicane.

And just now, finally, I did a proper one. Not my best S1, not my best S2, but certainly my best completed lap which I'm happy with. Currently P3 and I just hope everyone else just leaves me alone and spend their time at Monza and the Ring

Enough of this, packing my bags and off to Monza

Very nice time!

I'm not going back, I spent lots of time last week nailing a lap and there were two key things I worked out along the way...

First, I could consistently catch P1 using 3rd out of the final hairpin, the gear change hops helped the car turn, I don't know if they realised that or improved S3 since but it gave me confidence I could produce a decent time (maybe false confidence!).

Second... this car is SO MUCH NICER with ABS on normal to stop the rear getting loose in the final phase of braking. I did all my laps on weak, then changed to normal and it honestly took 2 laps to get to 42.8 and then I stopped! I had never done a lap below 43 until then.

I don't know if anyone mentioned that in their YT guides, I tend to be lazy now and not watch any, I just watch the P1 lap and always assume ABS weak = more rotation = better!

I choose the WR ghost to improve myself.

I am very far from him and these demonic exits.

Nevertheless, I think that the best of you should try something at the first chicane of sector two.

By braking just before the 200 panel and then diving into the apex with a brief passage on the second gear, I frequently manage to get ahead of his ghost.

I am too bad in other sectors but I think that aliens can earn somethings.

Second... this car is SO MUCH NICER with ABS on normal to stop the rear getting loose in the final phase of braking.
I'm using weak, but also I'm using CSA for most slidey road cars, so I didn't really have an issue with the braking, only with traction :banghead:

It required the biggest amount of throttle management I've ever done to put it down properly, every % of throttle made a difference, either you slide, spin, burn the rears or somehow get the traction :D

By braking just before the 200 panel and then diving into the apex with a brief passage on the second gear, I frequently manage to get ahead of his ghost.
Yeah, sometimes I did it in 2nd, sometimes in 3rd, but if you brake at the correct point, it actually makes no difference, you can very much rotate the car properly in 3rd. The issue is the positioning for the exit, you really need to point it as much to the right as possible so you can put the proper amount of power down and not touch the wall on the left when exiting.

I guess that's fair, it's just I remember on the last Nordschleife combo with the Suzuki Swift, you guys had some rapid times on that one and I was sort of expecting the same for this one. But I can understand, the 24h layout especially in a Gr.4 car is extremely exhausting.

Have only done a few laps in the Hyundai. And on a wheel it does feel weird, but a few FWD cars feel similar, just very numb and you need to discover the perfect throttle when turning, and braking is quite on/off too.

Shame it wasn't the Xiaomi at the Nords IMO, I have a feeling we might get that eventually. The Swift was really fun to drive.

I gotta agree on this, I was actually half expecting the Xiaomi at Nordschleife to be the combo as it would have made a lot of sense since the real car has actually set a time there a few months back, like a 7:04 I believe it was. But I guess that would have been too obvious.

Given how much it enjoys not stopping and going off in a straight line if you think about even touching the throttle mid-corner, I am very glad it was not there.

Granted, I was already stressed out to hell and back last night, but I did the SU7 weekly challenge at Deep Forest and it was not going well - had about five or six restarts (if not more) after only the first few corners. Can't imagine how bad that'd have been at Nurburgring.

That's a great time @CosmicMinster! There's a few factors for me, the first is the handling of the car itself. During my first few sessions, I couldn't obtain a feel for what the Elantra needed at any given point through a corner. Corner exit felt numb to me, like the wheel was floating when I should have been feeling the resistance. I turned my FFB up in-game which helped. I'm running a Logitech G-Pro wheel, in-wheel set to 11nm FFB. In-game I'm usually running torque at 5 - I turned this up to 7 and it helped. I'm starting to understand what is needed from the Elantra... which is to be aggressive! It needs more of a quick release off the brake, and throttle much earlier than I was giving it.

Second factor is the length of the track. It's a good lesson though, little changes in line through the more technical portions of the 'Ring have a huge impact on time. I was attacking the wrong turns, ignoring the importance of setting-up for successive corners... when watching the top replay I started noticing where and why he's mounting some of the curbs but not others. Then watching Tidgney's guide it started to make sense.

Maintaining such a high level of focus and persistence for a 9 minute lap was initially a "ahhh heck no!" type of response from me, but I realized that I basically do the same thing when putting in many laps on shorter circuits. I'm starting to feel the "fun" on this combo more and more... I'll give this one a few more sessions to improve! The 'Ring isn't one of my strengths but that's not due to preference, it's due to imperfections and poor habits in my driving that, if I can clean up, will help me improve. Basically, I need to get comfortable with being uncomfortable

Also @Vule, that is an amazing time at VGC... very well done! Whatever is in the water over there... send some my way

Can't imagine how bad that'd have been at Nurburgring.
I did test the SU7 at Nordschleife on the first day of the update actually and of course, it has the typical EV behaviour, heavy around turns and lots of on throttle understeer. In stock I managed a 6:47.3 lap time and with a tuned build best I got was a 6:15.5 beating both the real life records of the car, which were also my first lap so could have been quicker for sure. In my opinion it probably wouldn't have been too bad as the combo but I can see it being a bit difficult for others here. Then again I love the Nurburgring so I would have enjoyed it either way.

The current one in the Gr.4 Elantra isn't too bad but it just feels super sluggish to me due to the very low power output of the car but that's expected from a TC anyway. I'm just very happy we got a Nurburgring combo as I've been wanting one for a while now!

Well, hello gents, long time no see!

For a while now I've been spending my limited time in GT7 knocking out the weeklies and two-chili Power Pack and largely ignoring the TTs. For whatever reason they haven't been that appealing to me lately. That said, the Elantra TCR was tempting because I love the way the factory EN drives.

The TCR is... not quite that. The front seems to be a bit less communicative than the road car, and has a tendency to get very light on center. There are also times where the fronts just seem to randomly give up under heavy braking when they didn't on the last go-round. I know these are all "skill issues", but I guess I expected the TCR to be a lot more planted than it is. Running the TT on SM tires likely would have made a huge difference.

Regardless, it's still a good time. Currently at a 8:58.313, with optimals in the 8:56s, but man is it hard to devote full concentration for a full lap in a car that takes so long to get around it! Hopefully I'll be able to dig down into the low 8:50s by the end of the trial, but its gonna be a fair amount of work!

Elantra TCR 2.webp

Insanely fast times in here! Low 1:50s is absolutely insane to me. I hope I can figure out where all those seconds are hiding!

Happy lapping!

A dozen laps tonight... but not all of them made it to the end...

I improved by 2.5 seconds... hehe... 😂 🥵

I need to find another one... and at least one more to be safe... but it's starting to get tough...

I'm not far from my maximum...

without assistance... I tried low ABS, but I ended up in the gravel...😂😂

Destroyed my previous PB by -1.297 seconds, very solid time and quite happy with it. I lost a slight bit of time on the GP section but I had a fabulous Nordschleife section. Best possible time with my best GP and Nordschleife combined together would definitely be around 50.9 but this combo is exhausting so I'll take this and be done with it. Now I need to start the Xiaomi at Monza combo next!

I changed the boost button to the R1 in order to take full advantage of it. I did say that painting the car red would help me go faster. It probably improved my social credit score because the CCP like red A LOT. (Just to be clear, I do not support the Chinese regime).

I switched to the Shadow Version of my Elantra N TC and found 1.3 seconds. Yes, there's most certainly room to improve but with a track soo long, it's hard to find the motivation... Especially when you've already met the target.

I'm on the same boat as you!

I never really learned this track properly. Had just a basic idea of the turns, but it's only now that I'm taking the proper time to learn it as much as I can.

Such a fun combo, but yeah, too long, and after minute 6 ish my lap starts to fall apart 😆

I started well over 9:00, but managed to get a 57.023 today. Of course, I lost a ton of time entering and exiting the mini Karusell.

I think a 55 is possible for me. Will keep pushing 👊🏻
