Try a different car? 458? 296? AMG? The 911 ’17? R8?
I was considering that...I need something that actually turns. But at the same time...clearly I'm just missing something if everyone else manages to make it turn...

@bigfluffy888 well done on the Nurb lap buddy!, that's deep into the top 100!

I think i ran 10 laps this morning..... 7 of them didn't even make the Ring itself....
2 of them invalidated on the start of the Ring.... the right left hander at the beginning ( 5 and 6 or something after entering the hell were you have to cut insane amount of curb on the right) ....
and one lap i screwed everything up but made the finishline..... second slower or something...

Rage quite incomming

Did an hour on the Ring in the Porsche.
Lovely car, great combo with the tyre choice, but man that lap is too long...
Completed 2 invalid laps just to see where I stood.. was just on or over the 10min mark.
3rd (complete) lap I butchered on literally the last turn, hitting the barrier coming on to the GP-track. That was... infuriating...:irked::grumpy:
Eventually completed a clean lap, 9:52.xxx.
Now I need to find 3-4s to get to gold...🤔

I tried my best here but the track is way too long for this old ****.
@bigfluffy888 and @Gomario JSP, good job guys!!!

Thank you @Manimal , @Gomario JSP and @Carlos Fandango !! The ‘ring is one of my favorite tracks in GT7. When I’m not doing time trials or powerpack stuff, I often will load up the ‘ring with custom races, GR3s, BOP on and just lap it. I do best when I can find a rhythm and the nature of this track lends itself well to that. More mountain courses pls… I would love that!

@P_O_L_66 how in the world… 🤯that’s some serious driving there buddy!

Thank you, my friend

I'd like a word with whoever came up with this combo

I don't have epilepsy, but going through that open-air tunnel with this time of day setting felt pretty close to epilepsy.

Cookie-cutter combo with a location we just had recently, again with a middle of the day time setting, in the least fun category (in my opinion). This just felt like understeer simulator, particularly through S1 which requires threading a needle to get through in any competitive capacity. Tried the 911 but wasn't making any progress with that, not that the Merc was really doing me any favours.

At least this means more time to spend doing the Nurburgring in a car I actually enjoy driving.

Managed to snag another tenth at Trial Mountain in The Dump Truck and finally got myself at least into the 1:51's with a 0.968, so that's something, especially considering I'm still fairly full from the beer pairing this evening. 😆

Optimum was a .7 and I had a few promising laps after this new best time, but the inconsistency and hateful nature of this car prevented those tonight, and I felt it best to stop (already did almost 85 miles) before I've gone for an additional hour, passed midnight, and accomplished nothing other than getting mad and sweaty.

I am having these issues at the ring in a PORSCHE of course. I really dislike these cars and I am 100% convinced, the ones I have in my game copy are BROKEN. 2 more hours tonight, not a single valid lap. I had one really good lap and this stupid oversteery car decided to understeeer at the last turn before the long last straight, yeah, push push and guess what, guardrail. Yep, red lap, so yeah, done tonight. 😒

Do you have CSA assist on? I didn't find the older 911 to be too bad in the oversteer department with CSA on (I do wonder what it does sometimes, as I spin out...), but it's just a good safeguard, especially with such a long, long lap. I did find that the high CG would cause more issues than anything - and that's definitely what has ruined several laps "for" me, especially on a few certain corners. I had one lap where I actually saved it - impressive, really - but lost easily 5-10 seconds in doing so, so not real helpful on a TT haha.

This is my lap. The car was fun to drive, but putting together a perfect 10-minute run is nearly impossible; touching a curb makes you risk losing it every time (sometimes even just by lifting off the throttle slightly).
I was on a great pace (almost 1 second up on my previous best) but at the Wippermann I clipped the last curb, almost hit the wall and messed up the next 2 or 3 corners. On the Nordschleife, once you lose your rhythm, it’s hard to get it back, though I don’t think I lost more than 3 tenths there. However, a small mistake going wide after the Pflanzgarten jump cost me a good 4-5 tenths on the following straight. I reached the bridge near at my previous best, but by nailing the final corner (where I’ve crashed or lost tons of time before), I finished 2 tenths up.
If it were just the Nordschleife, I would’ve gone for more laps to improve, not for a perfect lap as this car is too unpredictable, but doing the full 24h layout just to risk messing up at the final corner again made me call it a day.

did 4 laps today ... test a few things out ... i had 2 invalid laps and found 3 corners i could take flatout. But.... in the 'clean" laps hmm did not have the balls to do it still i got into .45 bad first sector on the Nord part so i def lost 1.5 sec so aim for .42/43 but that would be my limit 🤔

Oh yes, the CG is off on it. It has killed many laps at the start basically at the chicane in the GP section. The car squats on the right rear and stays there sometimes. Trying to figure that one out.

It's good to be back

I got into the gold on my third lap with a 1:53.4 but it took me another 2 hours or so to get this time. Turns out going straight into things like Max Verstappen wears you down rather quickly. I guess I'm not soo good at finding the limit. Anyway my work here is done so I can move on to something else - whether that be the other time trial, Tomodachi Life or both. In any case, these endeavours will only be done in the interim before I get my mitts on Forza Horizon 6.
