I'm actually kinda excited about both of the new TTs. I like the RedBull car, however, I'm not great at Monza. Gr2 cars are always fun and CGV is one of the tracks I got a top 100 in šŸ˜Ž
A ton of yard work to do today, so this will have to wait.

Off to Italy for some holiday in a few days, really low on available time this week and what do we have? One of the two TT’s being the longest (I think?) at almost 10 minutes. Incredible timing. Had to be done in one session so the pressure was on.

Crossed the Gr.3 at Trial Mountain off the list a few days ago, would’ve honestly preferred to go in something else rather than the 911 but alas, ended up being double Porsche duty here.

For me, I thought this was a fairly solid lap, there are just too many people quick in Gr.3 cars and in that particular category I’m not at that level. Got 120 top 100’s since we began but a top 100 wasn’t on for me here, so yeah. That’s just how it is. :)

On to the old lovely ’73 Carrera RS, quite a nice ride through Nordschleife, has to be said. I’ll echo the sentiment that we could’ve done without the GP part, it’s like the TT actually starts two minutes in...

I much prefer this to the Gr.3 one though not perhaps the greatest fan of TT’ing Nordschleife/N24h in general as it’s so incredibly draining due to its length. Personally I think it’s more fun to race on it. It’s almost like you’re holding your breath while concentrating throughout the lap, to then lose it once you stuff up a corner seven or eight minutes in feels so devastating.

The lap I managed was of course not without mistakes, notable sections where I unfortunately didn’t get my line correct was the GP/Nordschleife chicane, Wippermann (which I usually love but drifted away from the correct line too much) as well as the final corner, the pressure was too much. I kept thinking of course about how I can absolutely not screw this lap, ā€œjust one corner left, just one corner left, just one corner left....ā€ and well, I feel like I brake in time but go too deep anyway and think in a fraction of a second, ā€œoh god, oh god, what am I doing?! OK, nevermind I screwed the line but just carry it home, just get a valid lap on the board, manā€, kinda jump over that kerb there, exit gets pretty weird but I do make it through with a lap intact and just about missed a 9’37. In the best of worlds a 37 or even 36 could’ve happened but yeah, things really didn’t align just well enough for that. We’ll take it.

0,94% P28 there and 0,95% and P207 in the 911 GT3 R.

About the next, again, ridiculous timing on my part with travel and an extra TT arrives. To add insult to injury it’s the epitome of zero creativity and repetitiveness when the X2019 has to be featured again in a mirrored GTWS TT. Y-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-W-W-W-N-N-N-N. šŸ’¤ How many times have we driven this thing already? Retire it, please. I can’t wait.

Gr.2 at Gilles Villeneuve sounds pretty tricky to be honest, as a guy who thinks chicanes and sausage kerbs are the absolute enemy to motorsports I already see myself suffering hard there.

As fun as it was to try and see what cars off the beaten path could work (The Audi R8 LMS Evo being the closest at 1:54.014), the inner mercendary in me went "Just get the gold already" so Porsche it was. And unsurprisingly, got it in only two laps on my first attempt with it.

And like that, I am 2 million credits richer.

Now on to the two new ones that I feel very confident are gonna net me a combined 4 Million. The path to 100 million credits is on.

Group 2 cars tend to have a revbar that is calibrated well enough. You get minor exceptions where the Audi '19 is shifted at ~3/4th bar in higher gears.
Gr. 2 cars optimal shift points

The X2019 is one where my charts say to rev it out but since the revs go up so fast, you naturally do this anyway. The gain is minor in the end.

Feedback on the charts is welcome, as well as potential test subjects for the shift tone in the same repository.
Much appreciated. Would you consider adding exact speed value for shift points?

Two courses full of chicanes. Two high downforce cars.

A long slog for the controller players.

Given how long the game has been out and how obvious the steering lag issue is, and how often discussed, then it's clear they aren't going to sort it and controller users continue to be at a massive disadvantage.

The absolute joy of watching the steering inputs on the fastest laps, knowing that it's impossible to replicate given the limitations of the input device/software.

Calster always sounds like he is talking with a mouth full of marbles ...... I can understand about 50% of what he says......

just me?

The problem is that I can't do that because of variable slip ratio. I can't tell in advance what the slip ratio will be at a specific speed so it would be wrong for anything but a fixed scenario. Rain messes with it a lot too, to say nothing of gravel and snow. I have not specifically tested it, but there would even be a difference between soft and hard racing tires.
I've done it manually for a few TT cars but it's not something I'm planning to do for the entire data set (over 500 cars at this point!).

Also, this is the same problem as upshifting at a specific RPM. If I tell you to upshift at 200kph, do you upshift when you see 200 on the speedometer, or do you time the upshift so you hit it the split moment the speedometer shows 200? There's a crucial difference there.

whew ..... glad its not just me 🤣 I still watch and try to decipher what he is saying in spots ..... he just talks to fast and it turns into mumble speak

He's a young man finding his voice, metaphorically speaking, so I would cut him some slack and focus on his content rather than his voice. It is great that he shares his thoughts and process. He is regularly in the top 10 in the world and as a controller user hopefully gives hope and direction to other controller users.

He also listens to feedback, I think, as his videos have become shorter and more to the point recently. So it may be worth giving him your feedback directly with examples of where you struggle to hear or understand him, and proposals for what he could do differently.

Gran Turismo 7 Online Time Trials: Double the Credits, Double the Fun

This week’s new Online Time Trial brings something a little different. Alongside the regular new event, Polyphony has added a special tie-in with Round 1 of the 2026 Gran Turismo World Series in Milan on May 23, and it pays double the standard credit rate...

I think his mic is a problem.

I have watched every video he puts out for months. He is amazing on a hand cotroller and always in the top tear - so yea no **** he's good.

I just cant understand half of what he says as he does not pronounce or project his words clearly.

Never said a negative word about him or his ability to drive.

Since ur here defending him please shoot him a msg if your that concerned about it - I am not - He will do just fine without me -

I just wasnt sure if anyone else had the same struggles as I am having decipering his speech.

Christ that Red Bull is horrendous. I need to figure out where to get like...a second...to be where I usually am...

~Lap 25 was my best lap...and the following 23 laps were chasing only a few more tenths. I'm at a 1:24.613 with an optimum in the low 0.3s...but where the hell am I going to find an additional second.

I actually found TC1 to be beneficial here, and rarely saw any kind of time gained with TC on 0 - but it did cause me to crash a lot, so...this'll be great...

This is very interesting to try out.

Well this escalated quickly 🤣

For what it's worth...
I watched a lot of video's of him, altho less now he is also on the wheel, very helpfull , but sure as english is my second language I have to focus to understand everything cause he has an accent, then again....if I have phone call with a irish dude I have a hard time too 🤣🤣

That said....back to tarmac,

I highdownforced myself into the 24's at GVV with the Nismo....man I struggle with these combo's...it's fighting all the way...
On one hand it's fun, on the other hand very frustrating, and this lap beeing over 2% is just mindblowing 🤣

Struggling this week. Normally I can do a few laps and be below 5% and work from there. Clocking in around 6% and have zero progress on both challenges. I may resort to loading ghosts. Normally I'm stubborn and figure it out myself.

Hi everyone,

I’m new to your forum, although I’ve been following it from a distance for quite some time. However, I’m a veteran of the time trials in Gran Turismo 7, even if I’ve eased off the training a bit lately.

Today, I’ve decided to finally join in because, in my constant pursuit of improving and understanding the game better, I could really use your experience and feedback.

I noticed what seems to be a ā€œcheat code.ā€ At first, I thought it was just luck, since the car’s behavior barely changed. But this time, the difference is huge: the car feels completely transformed.

The ā€œcheat codeā€ I’m referring to is the roll cage on this particular car. The game normally treats this part as a cosmetic upgrade, but it actually seems to affect the car’s performance and handling despite the BOP.

So I’m looking for volunteers who believe they’ve already reached the limit of their lap times to try this modification and give me feedback to see whether my observation is correct.

Thanks in advance for your help.

My username is Doreamon.

100% this. Tbh I'm not sure it's easy to fix. But at least broadening the possible lag settings, i.e. expanding the sensitivity beyond 10 should be easily possible.

Looks like DG edge site isn't working properly for the two new time trials. I get an error code 400 and the site won't show the leaderboard. Anyone else having this issue?

i have gotten this error multiple times - it comes back in a half hournor so - i think its just in the middle of updating TT results - but just guessing what the cause is - but its normal
