That's fine that you don't care and will focus on "doing you". But I think you're missing the point.

For example. In a room of VR only users, they all have to check their blind spots and use their mirrors. VR users won't have the luxury of seeing exactly where another car is positioned on their side (depending on the view) on a flatscreen without having to divert their eyes, or even turn their head.

In no way shape or form does that prohibit anyone from "doing them". Having a lobby where all players are utilizing the same tools and playing under the same conditions creates a level playing field that a majority of players prefer.
I’m not missing the point at all, I’m just accepting that I can change how other people play and the lobby you describe doesn’t actually exist. So I can only focus on my own driving.

All views have access to the MFD radar.

You also have to think about where does this segregation stop? Wheel only lobbies? Chase can view only lobbies? MT only etc

For me personally I don’t mind being in mixed lobbies. Also I just don’t think the player volumes are there.

I would REALLY like replays on a PSVR2-equipped PS5 to provide the option to view the cockpit in VR.

It'd be great to show my friends what I was seeing when I raced, while giving them the freedom to turn their head to where they want to look.

It should be possible even if the original race wasn't done in VR.

That trackside "VR replay" sucks IMHO

That's what I thought the VR replay feature was going to be before I first opened it.

My dad doesn't play GT7 but has some interest in the GTWS from seeing me take part in it. I'd have loved to load up a replay and let him experience being in the car in the midst of everything as I saw it. He was blown away just sitting in the car in the VR showroom.

How did you do that??? I like it!!!
Lots of trials.
Started off with normal replays. When a static camera comes up take note of where your car is positioned on a circuit. Retry the race and place your car at that location. When all cars pass you, stop the race and run the replay to adjust your car position as needed.

In VR Replay, it's a bit of a gamble. From the video above, the camera placed me across from my cars position. I wanted to watch the entry of the corkscrew, but was randomly placed on the outer part of the circuit.
Sometimes the camera will place me on the circuit and sometimes I'll be just next to a fence or barrier. Lots of hours checking locations on all tracks. Love it.

Incredible.

I jumped on the PlayStation for the first time a few days this evening and noticed that the PlayStation had a software update and also the PSVR2 underwent update when I put the headset on. I can’t find any information on this. Any idea what this updated?

I’m on PS5Pro if that makes a difference ?

I think Sony have ended working on the current PSSR as its quite out of date now/inefficient (things moving fast) , they are developing a new method using a modified version of AMD's FSR 4 upscaler. It can be used on the Pro not sure of timeline on this apart from it being 2026. I presume PD would be keen to work with it for GT.
I dont think GT7 will get a PSSR VR update. Unless they call the new version the same name. But would be in 2026 I expect.

I noticed this too; I'm on a standard PS5. I haven't noticed a difference post-update but I didn't do any testing. May have to see if I notice anything tonight.

Last night's Nations Cup race looked the same as always from my perspective.

Think currently there is still a huge misunderstanding of PSSR.
The development of PSSR is an o going process. We already see and heard from some devs about newer iterations of PSSR and if we look at the most recent titles like Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, AC Shadows or the Days Gone Ps5 version that PSSR is pretty solid and brings a nice image quality.
There is no „end of working“ on the current PSSR by Sony, as I said, it’s an ongoing process.
Mark Cerny was confident that PSSR will achieve similar result as FSR4 in 2026. FSR4 was developed together by AMD and Sony and while the „real“ FSR4 won’t come to the Ps5 (Pro) as currently known, a lot of the gained knowledge and achievements during the development of this upscaler will also go into the further development of PSSR.

What I mean is that the current version/type of PSSR will never come to GT7 in VR,I think they gave up on it as it didnt work nicely in VR. They wont try to modify it anymore to get it to work in an upcoming future update. They will be using a new model similar to the AMD type to try and use that to work in VR hopefully. I guess they could call it evolution of PSSR by name. I would like them to give it a new name though. The new model will be back ported to the PS5 Pro.

"Our focus for 2025 is working with developers to integrate PSSR into their titles; in parallel, though, we have already started to implement the new neural network on PS5 Pro. Our target is to have something very similar to FSR 4's upscaler available on PS5 Pro for 2026 titles as the next evolution of PSSR."

I think it causes confusion giving it the same name when it acheives different results using different processes, if they must they could call it PSSR 2 and so on.

I havent looked though do upscalers get used in PC VR games? Or more specifically is FSR 4 used in a PC VR simulator?

There may even be a new GT title for 2026.

We don’t know yet. All the informations given regarding the ps5 pro (& especially PSSR) regarding the PSVR2 there absolutely vague from the beginning. At one point there was a interview with Mark Cerny that they trying to let PSSR also work in VR games but I would guess as well that this by far isn’t their main priority. There aren’t any real big VR games coming anymore and especially no ones from Sony.
The idea to have even improved visuals in GT7s VR mode would be great but I highly doubt it.
At least I hope that they update the PSSR version used in the game to the latest or newer version for the regular Flat mode.

I don't care that much for PSSR and I don't want to wait that long.

What I want is a a solution for that positional what-not so that the HUD is not a garbled mess in certain situations like formula and convertible cars. Basically that can't handle static text on fast moving backgrounds and completely falls apart. If I am spending time in one type of car I might have to go into video options and switch the positional stuff off. Then I wonder, why did I buy a PS5Pro?

„why did I buy a PS5Pro?“

To complain in forums? 🙃

My own perspective:
I bought PS5/GT7/PSVR2 November '24. I immediately evaluated VR2 for potential return. I decided that I like it well enough that I was happy with the purchase as it stood at that point in time. I still am VERY happy with it.

I will always be happy to have improvements, but my purchase was NOT for what I hoped it might be in the future.
