My picks for the week:

Not the most interesting week but Spa was still fun. FR Challenge is quite easy, just watch for the RS500. Clubman Cup is also not difficult just because of the AI being really slow on a few corners at Kyoto, lots of stock and slightly tuned cars will be able to win this no problem. The time trial was again a joke, did it first try by 1.5 seconds and I took it really easy, still don't understand why these aren't full laps at least, or maybe in some interesting conditions. Hypercar Parade I ended up using the Lambo VGT on SH which was much too fast, might be one of the easiest of that group of races. WTC 900 I went with the Audi VGT which can just about do 4 laps without running out of battery, which means 2 stops. Fortunately that worked out with the rain and I was able to pit at the end of lap 7 for IM and then catch the AI a bunch as they struggled on a wet track before they also pitted. Track then dried really fast so I spent the last 2 laps driving weird lines on the wet parts just to keep the tyres from wearing out.

Cars for this week:
full

[American FR Challenge 550]
Believe me, it's stock except for its appearance.

[Japanese Clubman Cup 550]
If I don't use this now, when will I?

[Time Trial]
Gold medal on the third try!

[Hypercar Parade]
Want to beat this cornering? Get in the Valkyrie!

[WTC900]
I thought I'd try a car I don't usually drive for a change. But the fuel economy wasn't cooperating. (Not a Gr.1)
Even so, the weather was on my side, and it seems everyone else made a pit strategy mistake.
Thanks to that, I was able to lap every car!

I won 100 million yen from a 6-star roulette ticket.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: Take on Tokyo in an Aston Martin DB11

It’s a new week of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges, which means a fresh set of five events and rewards for players to chase. As always, the new challenges arrive when your clock ticks past midnight into Friday morning, so the exact rollout depends on your time zone...
"Each week brings five events (four standard World Circuits races and one Special Event)", Jordan

This is one of the best ideas that PD has added to GT in a while.

It forces us to complete the off-line part of GT, although I still fail at winning the new 800PP at CGV. 6th place, at my best.

Who’s this new guy writing GT7 Weekly Challenges articles for the second week in a row?? Has this guy permanently replaced the previous writer? I hope not!!
He always added a fun title to the article; this fella writes as if he writes.
I’m starving for a fun pun

Time Trial is actually a piece of cake, once you get the hang of weight transfer. I love transaxle FRs.

Got 2 million credits from getting gold in Online Time Trial, so I spent some of it for tuning the R8.

900 pp Spa is more of super lap rather than a race. Just the AI acting as roadblocks.

^ will conduct more "experiments" there later.

6-star ticket reward. Funny enough, I got the same 6-star ticket from the daily workout and the same prize.

I realize that most of you guys here seem to be in the category "serious racer". You prefer real "classic" circuits, real conventional cars, authentic physics etc.

So I'm the exception that is (ab)using GT7 as an "less-arcadig arcade racer": My favorite tracks are either artificial or at least "unconventional" - Tokyo, Willow Springs, Grand Valley, Saint Croix. My favorite cars are VGTs, EVs and prototypes. My favorite setups are over-steery ("drifty") rather than under-steery. I do police chases, provocate crashes, try to perform stunts ...

So I'm always happy when one of these additions is being served in the Weeklies :P
I also found that I prefer artificial tracks - Dragon Trail Seaside, Lago Maggiore, Alsace and I understand why. Because they are wide and have many different turns. There are ascents and descents and great views. In contrast, the GVC track is sandwiched between concrete walls and all the turns are monotonous.
