Not a great week but I think part of that was me struggling to find new cars to use. FF Challenge isn't too hard around the suggested PP, would prefer a longer race though. Pickup Truck Race is incredibly easy even in a stock F150, wish it was something a bit more interesting given the almost night setting for this race. One-make is much the same as the last one with this car, stock it's easy to get into the lead in 2 laps but then the AI will speed up massively and run very fast laps to stay close to you, thankfully it wasn't using the layout with the stupid chicane. GT-R Cup is pretty boring, not the biggest fan of that track and there's not a lot of variety in the field. WTC 800 is difficult if you want to use a stock Gr.3 car. I've won it with the Ferrari on RH, cars around that on pace will also do it with any grid you get. There's quite a big of pace variation from the different grids unfortunately so it's hard to predict how close things will be, I just decided to use an 800 PP Aventador and won by 55 seconds pitting on lap 6 for tyres and fuel. Runs 1:29 laps on map 6 so way faster than it needed to be, fun to drive though.

The Xiaomi is a bad car, so I decided to sneak in that race with a... Ford Falcon (check my shared liveries in the game if you want to find it). Haven't done the GT-R race yet, as I want to set up a 2017 Nismo for a change.

The most overpowered Gr. 3 car can definitely do this.

- Mid rpm turbo; Medium tires and short shift at 6500 rpm. Can even get out of tight corners at 3rd gear.

- Serrano pits on Lap 9. It does vary per race, but then again, this is another case of PD power tripping the AI. However of course, the AI did not change tires.

- Again, I showed no mercy. Fuel map 1 all the way.

My picks for this week:
weekly-challenge-202604w1-79-picks.webp

I tried them all on hard difficulty, but that last one was too much.

weekly-challenge-202604w1-79-r1.webp

Autopolis - Nissan Qashqai Tekn e-Power '22 - I upgraded the tires to SM, which brought it just over the suggested PP. Only managed a P2, though. Good enough for the first ticket.

weekly-challenge-202604w1-79-r2.webp

Willow Springs - Ford F-150 SVT Raptor '11 - Not sure what upgrades this thing has. I only pull it out of the garage when these pick-up races show up. Easy win. Second box checked.

weekly-challenge-202604w1-79-r3.webp
Catalunya - Xiaomi SU7 Ultra '25 - I upgraded the tires to RMs because I remembered how difficult this thing is to drive on the stock ones when we had the special event at Deep Forest. That made the car manageable enough for the win. Second ticket obtained.

weekly-challenge-202604w1-79-r4.webp

Blue Moon Bay - NISMO 400R '95 - I made a bunch of upgrades -- SS tires, medium-RPM turbo, weight reduction, and more -- which brought the PP over 650. That made for another easy win. Fourth box checked.

weekly-challenge-202604w1-79-r5.webp

CGV - Honda NSX GT500 '00 - This took three tries. On the first, I tried a no-stop on RM tires -- with FM 3 and short-shifting halfway through the rev bar to get the fuel to last. That got me P9. Second try: 6RS-6RS, without fuel saving. Managed a P5, but still more than 20 seconds off the P3 car. Third try: lowered the difficulty to normal and did the 6RS-6RS again. Easy win. Last ticket obtained.

If I never have to drive that electric Chinese crap again it'll be too soon. That car is junk no matter what you do to it. No idea of braking zones, wallows through corners even after having as much weight stripped out as possible. Understeer into Oversteer into no rear grip no matter where in the corner you are.

Even racing soft tires, weight reduction +3, race suspension, race brakes don't make this car any fun to drive let alone easier.
I bought it, tricked it out, and immediately sold it for a loss.

My therapy for this race was to get into 2nd place and then just stay there and then ram the leader constantly. I would see how far off the track I could get it to go when hitting it at high speed at the end of the straight.

I forgot what piece of 💩 is that electric Chinese💩car!!!!
I wondering in real life how dangerous are those cars for average driver....
Better fun drive with a Kei car that this bull💩!!!!
You're not exactly wrong. The insane acceleration and torque that powerful EVs (not Prius level basically) provide is far more intense than the average commuter coming from an Internal Combustion engine would be used to.

I know the first time I drove an EV that wasn't a Prius or Leaf I absolutely had to recalibrate my expectations for how the car would perform. The worst part is that while the acceleration is there braking and handling is NOT

It’ll be too expensive for the average driver. Especially since it’s not sold globally, yet. So, those average drivers are safe for now. ;)

Straight forward challenges. Used the credits to rebuild my 1994-1997 ADAC GT CUP grid.

Ok, here's my short summary from the new challenges. I took my time today while preparing our Easter celebrations, did not run too many attempts, I think it's been seven all in all.
No need to talk much about races 1, 2 and 4 I think - you all know I love "to go slow" so everything's been very enjoyable.
As for the "Chinese crap" I didn't find it all bad, aside from the fact that I do not like the Circuit de Catalunya. I had slapped on RH tires right from the start although I doubt now that they helped a lot, whatsoever, this time it felt like me driving the car not vice versa. I needed one attempt to get some smoothness and look out the AI, the second run was ok then in my book.
Now for the final race at CGV I had picked the new Porsche GT3 R yesterday, wasn't so keen though to go with the stock car but had slapped on the big turbo. Left the rest of the car's setup untouched mostly and went to race. It's quite a challenge. Needs really good pace and consistency ... and faith ! :-) I still fight with all these chicanes and I thought this kills me but it's been the pit entry that I didn't know good enough lol. Greetings from Barry:R and a 1 sec penalty didn't keep me from winning but the perfectionist I am had to do a second attempt.
7 runs, 7 wins and a final CRB ✅ at each event - not a bad day that was.

And now : Happy Easter everyone ! :)

Japanese FF Challenge 450: Mitsubishi FTO GP R. Completely stock, completely easy.
Pickup Truck Race: Ford F-150 SVT Raptor. Haven't done this since I first started playing in 2024. Again, easy.
Nissan GT-R Cup: Nissan GT-R Premium Edition T-Spec. Absolutely glued, Handles sports softs like their Racing Softs.
World Touring Car 800:
Special Event
: Something something "Trash" Something. Joking aside, got it done first attempt out, felt way easier to grasp this car's quirks at Catalunya then it did at Deep Forest.

Also: Root of the issue with the Xiaomi, in my eyes anyway, is that its simply too much power for both the weight and size of the car while the brakes are too small to handle it all. So you cannot drive this car like a regular car. The Volkswagen ID.R is peak optimization of the power, weight and size so it unsurprisingly does everything you expect a racing vehicle to do. The Hyundai Ioniq 5N is actually a capable vehicle which doesn't feel overpowered and just needs better brakes. The Xiaomi, at least in this digital rendition, feels like a product from a company that hasn't quite grasped how to optimize all that power and speed yet.

That said, still better looking then the Cybertruck and that brick Jaguar is making.

Pretty good weekend only because of the WTC800. My first time racing it.
Let's start with my tribute to KB43 on his day. Happy 4/3!! Of course used my usual for this race, overpowered Ford Raptor. Easy win.
Autopolis was in an EF Civic livery that I just finished, Temple Racing. I had it at 199hp so I detuned it and still it was too easy.
Xiaomi-oh-my. I just hate that car amongst all the EV's in this game. I just can't figure the car out. Nevertheless, won by 10 seconds.
GTR race was in one of my R32's. Easy win by 10.
WTC800 was fun and close! Used my 992 with a new tune by Exeter. Pretty good tune with the high rpm turbo and on RM. Pitted at the end of 6 for fuel and tires. My out lap placed me in 6th with Igor in the lead. It was a chase from then on. It took me until the last lap to overtake him and hold on for a 3 second lead.

[Japanese FF Challenge 450]
I feel like this layout is only used in this event.

[Pickup Truck Race]
I wonder if they'll add any more trucks.
The race is boring with only two trucks.

[Special Race]
Next time I drive this, I recommend buying a handbrake and using it with the brakes.

[Nissan GT-R Cup]
I tried something flashy for the race photos, but it was a failure.

[WTC800]
What were the results of that car choice?

Sorry, but that doesn't make sense. Let's ignore the global market and just look at China. Yes, the SU7 Ultra is relatively expensive at 530000 Yuan. But China has a huge population and there are roughly 14 million people in the top 1% of earners. So there are many millions who could easily afford it. And there's no point in believing that all of those are somehow above average drivers.

I don't mind the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra '25 really, the problem I have with it is the lift-off oversteer when in a corner, if I feel I need to slow down I tend to lift off instead of pressing the brake and this can cause the rear of the car to just go crazy, I think I do this because in a fuel car lifting off does slow you much more than lifting off in an EV, the EV you of course need to brake much sooner I find, but even the Racing Soft tires are not enough to hold traction, idk if this can be tuned out of the car, I don't really have the tuning skills.

I don't know how much of an effect the rear wheel steering has with the car in the game, does anyone know how much of a difference this makes?

It isn't the worst EV in the game, but I think it really needs a proper set-up.

Would you mind sharing your setup? Tried the car yesterday but it felt awful in the slow corners. Tried to adjust the ARBs and toe angles. Felt a bit better, but still not really good.

- CGV demands a softer suspension in general, especially when dealing with kerbs. Also, you can get out of the slow corners on 2nd gear. Since WTC races have high modifiers, I had to lower the negative camber and set all toe to 0. Short shift at 8.5k rpm at Fuel Map 1 if you want a zero stop strategy.

- Had my T598 worked, I would have much less tire wear... and a quicker lap time. Can't wait for next weekend to have it reaaally fixed.

Glad its not just me that thought the EV thing was crap.

The touring car 800 race was easy, for all of these I used my usual formula of go a group higher (so in this case Group 2, favourite weapon is the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT500 '16) with it de-rated, start on FM6, medium tyres, no stop. In this case it was clear the fuel would last easily - then I got punted by another car, so restarted, went FM5 for a few laps, then 4. ended up on Fm1 for the last lap. Generally you'll pass everyone before or just as they stop.

I tried the first race with a suzuki swift at about 400pp, fine int he corners but didn't have the legs so re-started with an older swift at about 420, no problems.

Just glad we didn't have yet anothre tokyo race this week!

Autopolis: Suzuki Swift @449PP
The Swift is always a excellent choice for those races.
1000028226.webp

Willow Springs: Toyota Tundra @448PP
Exchanged a few hp for better tires & suspension and watched AI struggle and slide off track while passing them.
1000028227.webp

Barcelona: Xiaomi @Can't remember PP
As usual, if there's not even a suggestion I take the best I have and that's a full race build in this case. So no challenge but I still like the Xiaomi!
1000028228.webp

Blue Moon Bay: Nissan GTR '17 @698 PP
This car is insanely good! I was flying by the competition so quick I had to re-check if I'm indeed on hard difficulty.
1000028229.webp

CGV: Mazda LM55 @799PP
Thanks @RCKakashi14 for sharing the 787B setup, but unfortunately the car still felt like it just didn't want to go around corners.
So I used the LM55 once again just to get this done. I dislike this track and didn't have any fun at this race, so I decided to at least have a little bit of fun at the end of the last lap.
