I did the part of the WC for the 1st time in a few weeks. I have been spamming FH5 the past month and half. I did 3 races starting with the Twingo Onemake race. I used a stock Twingo on CM tires and while it was fun to drive it is woefully underpowered. Also every time I went into a curve those tires were screaming bloody murder. :D I was able to pull out a last second win for the 1st checkmark.

I wanted to try out one of the new cars so i chose the 499p and detuned it 799 pp. I actually got a 50/50 weight balance adding some ballast. I love to get my cars to 50/50 or as close a possible but that's just me anyway I ran FM1 and RH tires. I stopped on lap 7 to change the tires and won by a good margin.
The Ferrari was fun and very easy to drive

For the last race of my day I took the Valkyrie to Goodwood. I thought I was playing Burnout Takedown and took down a Panda. I know low hanging fruit and all.

I tried the pickup race but I only got 5th plcae. I will come back and try later but it is a terrible race

Back and had time to do the weeklies today:
For Goodwood I just wanted to get it out of the way so took my modded Lancia Delta on SS.
The special race saw my lightly modded car for a test drive. Even in this car it was easy.
The truck race was a mess. lol Took my overpowered Raptor and obliterated all of them.
Gr.B was similar tothe truck race,a lot of bangin'. Took my usual Gr.B choice, WRX. No rain, just some dark clouds. Started on RS. Went in after 3 laps and got on RM's. Mostly a catching up after every pit but nothing the car couldn't handle. Last pit was on lap 8 for both fuel and tires. Came out in second and easily overtook first. Won by around 20 seconds.
The Glen was in my trusty Audi but I forgot this track was too easy for the combo. No pits, lapped a few of them. I may retry with Gr.3 cars but I still have to do the PP's.

I went back last night and did the truck race again. I switched to the swapped Ford truck and even though it is still a terrible race and I had a crap race having the extra horsepower certainly helps make up for mistakes

For the Grp B race I chose the Lancia. I had downloaded a livery for the car and since it was editable I change the color to purple. The rain started to come around lap 3 so I switched to inters and got a splash of fuel. To my dismay the the rain stopped by lap 5 so switched back to RH with no fuel and finished the race.

That finished the WC for me. I think my favorite race this week was Watkins Glen. I might try it again with maybe the BMW or Peugeot not sure yet.

Didn't have much time this week but what I did was trying some different cars on no stop runs around Watkins Glen.
There's nothing really new about it, it's been the usual suspects and cars that have already been mentioned in the above posts :
Started with the Lexus VGT, then tried the 499P, the R92CP, the 2J, the Audi RS5 and @smoothbore12 's NSX Concept.

It's not been a serious comparison but all cars came at 799 PP and RH tires, all races have been without contact but there's been track limit violations at times. I do not remember the specific FM settings, sry for that. There's been more in it with each car but I wasn't in the mood for running at my limit all the time.

So here's the results :

Loves to lock up without ABS, hence this is a workaround:

But the increased weight and Racing Hards also play a part on lock ups.

Could have been 13 seconds faster if it weren't for the spin out at the chicane. Can definitely do no stops.

Setup is confidential... Still experimenting.

  • Euro Sunday Cup: S1 PP swapped TTS, still having a hoot driving this around. Easy win.
  • Twingo One-Make: K24 swapped, not messing around with this race. Easy win and CRB done.
  • Pickup Truck: GAC swapped Raptor was more than enough. AI is all over the place.
  • World Rally Challenge: Delta Integrale Group A, high RPM turbo. Forgot to buy Inters, so had to be very cautious during the rain. 1 stop for fuel and won by several seconds.
  • WTC800: this race is honestly one of my favorite races in the game. The Z4 GT3 has been collecting dust in my garage lately, so I pulled it out and got to work. The AI are annoying and Ordonez was as much a mobile chicane as ever. One stop for fuel and Mediums on lap 6 and drove away to win.
