This week...

Tsukuba | Japanese FF Challenge 450 | Stock Swift Sport '07

I chose stock Suzuki Swift for this race. 405.13 PP. Quite the challenge. Fun little buzz box.

Eiger Nordwand | European FR Challenge 550 | Stock BMW Z4 3.0i '03 with SS tires

I originally did this race in a completely stock BMW M3 '07 keeping it under 550 PP. Then I tried a stock Z4 3.0i. Not possible using SH tires. Not enough power. But with some sticky tires (SS) it could keep up making it a more action packed race without needing to go over 550 PP.

Lago Maggiore | Porsche Cup | Stock Cayman GT4 '16

This was my hardest race for the week. Multiple attempts to catch up to the leader and get past in the last corners. Love driving every stock Porsche in this game.

Red Bull Ring | World Touring Car 700 | Stock Honda RA272 '65 with no ABS

A stock RA272 with no ABS is just magnificent. Can't get enough of it.
Got lucky with light rain. No pit needed. Just race and hope for the best.

@rheinaoi

Another Valkyrie hunter killer  ? FL5 and FK8 are equally fast in my hands, at least around Tsukuba. The Demio definitely can not keep up. What baffles me is that adding weight and shifting it to the front increases PP. Feels strange but is logical of course within a certain range. Will have to keep that in mind !

Would you do me a favor and explain how setting the Diff accel sensivity to 60 affects the handling of the car ? !

@smoothbore12

Thank you so much for inviting me to race with ya, I feel truly honored, mate ! My answer though ...

I've had my share of online racing back in the GT6 days running a beyond endless count of Quick Match races.
I've raced together with the Geezers here every now and then back in the days.
I've really had good times and lots of fun but I've always found that I don't have enough of that I call it racer gene.
To a point where I simply decided to not race real people anymore. Guess you know the pighead I can be so yes, that is it - to the day.
That's why I won't achieve Platinum this time round etc etc ... and why my answer is no !

And btw Sunday at 6.00 CET is an absolute no go, you SON OF BEACH !

Valkyrie hunter killer? Yes. I despise how that car sandbags for 2 laps then sets the fastest lap. PD saw how dumb the Vulkan on racing tires was in the Hypercar Parade and decided, more. I felt 1 point of guilt for bringing 800pp+ cars to slap the Vulkan. I now feel negative 100 points of guilt doing this to the Valkyrie.

WHY PUT A NEUTRON STAR IN THE FRONT BUMPER
In GT7, adding weight over the driven wheels helps with traction problems. Most of the time, adding a whole bunch of weight at the front decreases PP because PD's calculations assume that you've made the car understeer more and have compromised the car's braking. In the odd cases where PP increases, whatever PD uses to calculate PP probably sees the better traction / faster acceleration numbers and decides that those outweigh the drawbacks.

The PP system is busted and inconsistent half of the time.

WHY 60 ACCEL SENSITIVITY
The higher the acceleration sensitively, the more the diff will prevent the inside wheel from spinning. You get more understeer, but you can turn as hard as you like without worry of losing [as much] traction. Fighting the Valkyrie, I found this to be the best compromise to get 800hp through the front wheels while turning.

To get another idea of this, remember how it feels to drive many of the old muscle cars stock. They turn in surprisingly well, but when you want to power out of the corner, the rear tires (the inside one) begin to lose traction. The muscle car doesn't oversteer, but you feel that you've reached the maxium amount that you can turn and accelerate. Higher Acceleration Sensitivity (18 - 30) values completely fix this.

IS THE FL5 REALLY THE FASTEST FF ROAD CAR
My answer is still probably, but your FK8 is very interesting. I participated in several long-running time attack shootouts with a power/weight rule. With the same power and weight, the FL5 was always 1+ second a lap faster than the FK8 and all other FF challengers. Even the Avantime with its frankly superior aero kit was no match. I will need to take another look.

Had a great WTC race today in a great car. Took my 4-rotor Atenza Road Car to the Red Bull Ring and it didn't disappoint - it never has !
Didn't want to bother greatly with fuel or tire management, so it's been a one stop race, pitting at the end of lap 6 for fuel and fresh RH tires with a bit of luck towards the final laps, because rain didn't set in before lap 8 and didn't affect lap times much.

If anyone wants to have a bit of fun at Lake Maggiore in the swapped 964, here's a tune I enjoy. Makes for some close racing at the end with Carrazza (Yellow 997).

I wanted ... and did. Your exact setup ! - except color, rims and tow hooks maybe.
This has actually been a first time drive now and I liked it. I like when a car wants to be treated careful and thoughtful somehow.
A. Carrazza wasn't in trouble mode this time so it's been quite an easy win. :D

Thanks for suggesting this.

Glad to hear it! I usually prioritize weight transfer in my tunes, and with the 964 if you don't set yourself up correctly for the next turn, you're going to have a bad time. Once you get the rhythm though, it flows nicely.

Old pictures, particularly the Porsche Cup already from last Saturday, but never got around to posting them earlier. Either I've been doing too many power pack double chili races and calibrated my AI expectations to match those or something is going on, but this wasn't even a race.

These, however, very much were. I'm doing them in a weird order as this is indeed the two chili run after everything was originally completed with zero, so "theme packs" are possible. Daytona was a walk in the park, Spa was tricky with the weather, and Watkins Glen was just handicapped and rubberbanded to hell and back. It should have paid a whole lot more than that to reflect the difficulty. Now wait a bit... how the heck did I get those prize amounts? None of the match +20% for the car and +50% for a clean race.

OHHHH now I get it. The game cheats us a bit - for a 200.000 Cr race we don't get +20% ie. 240.000 Cr and then +50% on top of that which would be 360.000 Cr, but both percentages are calculated from the base prize so 40.000 Cr and 100.000 Cr respectively, resulting in 340.000 Cr which means the car bonus doesn't increase the CRB like it certainly should. Not that it makes any difference, just a matter of principle.

What do we got for the PP?
How about adding the Power Pack rewards aswell in the future?

Since we can drive any races for them, just mention the prizes.
Oh yes, of course. I'll start including that in the articles as well moving forward.

This week:
  • 1 Race: 100,000cr Ticket
  • 2 Races: 200,000cr Ticket
  • 3 Races: 500,000cr Ticket

I got several more races in for @ROCKET JOE 's under 1:50 Front Wheel Drive Challenge.

I got cheeky idea and reduced the power of the FL5 Civic. I still had to fight wheel spin because +500hp FF, but I set a faster time, and faster flying lap.

Additionally, I tested the FK8. It took quite a bit of work getting it to match the FL5's old time. The chassis has potential, but to me it felt harder to set up and more finicky to get the best out of it. Granted, the FL5 likely benefited from all the additional attention I gave it in that time attack shootout and then the additional tuning time at max power for A.I. Valkyrie hunting-slapping.

Final Thoughts

  • The FK8 is still behind the FL5 in utlimate FF potential, but not as far back as I thought
  • @ROCKET JOE lives up to his screen name once again 🔥

Pretty good week. FR Challenge can be a little tricky around the recommended PP, just need to get in the lead early. Historic Sports Car Masters is good fun chasing down the two Lamborghinis, part tuned Challenger had no trouble even without ABS. Lightweight K-Cup is great with how hard it can rain, don't think I've ever seen dark red on the radar before. The AI is really slow once it gets wet so you can use that to pull a ton of time back in the last 1/3 of the lap, a stock S660 is just enough if you get the right weather. Didn't like the one-make race at all, a bunch of wangs slapping against each other for 6 laps while two of them end up 15 seconds up the road isn't fun. At least they could've made it rain to keep things interesting. Gr.1 is at a decent track and I've won it previously with the 499P without any real issue so I figured I'd use it again. Turns out there's a few different grids and despite being as fast as I was last time I lost by 17 seconds. Would've needed 1:27 average to win which didn't seem possible with that car stock on RM with how much the AI can hold you up. Restarted and got a different grid and won by 5 seconds while going no faster, even lost 4 seconds when I exited the pits and immediately got hit and spun by one of the AI.

Cars for this week:
full

i treated the Gr.1 race like the 800 pp race 1 pit stop half way still need to learn how to control the rocket of a f3500-B at turns that give me trouble

I like when a car wants to be treated careful and thoughtful somehow.
The Leichtbau is very tail happy indeed. I ran it in full stock mode (I set the difficulty on easy when I need to grind and then forget to switch it back) and in the first section it kept going full pendulum, particularly in the left hander where the tarck detaches from the short variant and the following right hander leading on the first "DRS zone". But it is tail happy in a comfortable way, if I can say so, I never felt like I was in danger of losing it and it gave me the sensation that I was a good driver (which is an impressive task to say the least ) because I was controlling it sideways.
Definitely one of the best additions of 2026!

I will have to try again then I guess. Wong in the 908 just has insane pace. I was struggling a lot with this combo though. I will try one of the other new Hypercars next and would Hope to get into the 29s regularly. I have struggled with the exits from the slow corners ever since and my FL this time was only a 30. Had a couple crashes as well.

That's probably one of the really quick grids that you had, I was running high 1:28, low 1:29 every lap on RM pitting on lap 8 for tyres and fuel which is enough for the right opponents. With the others I don't think there's a way to use the 4 new cars unless you give them more power, maybe someone out there can get them into the low 27's every lap. With the 499P I found running 9 accel on the rear diff helped with exits, I was also running without ABS so there's a little more time in there if you do run it.

The key to all of these Group 1 races is getting a grid with Wong back in the pack. I barely got to him in my run in a stock 963 on normal. Luckily we had lapped traffic on the last lap, or I wouldn’t have gotten to him.

I also struggling in those type of races and in
such a case am trying to clear it first and then experiment if i am in the mood.

So i use the LM55 VGT .( Hard level )
Full aero back and front, RM tyres ,FM1 all the way and i use AT gears not manual .
27's - 25's definitely won't be a problem if you stay on track .
Exiting low speed corners isn't a problem with this one and if you get the feeling of the car is very safe and pleasant.
Am sure new and older hyper cars can win but right now am not on the mood to find out with what settings and what line up is easier or harder .

So if it's about win it , pick it up and shoot it .
