Pretty fun week honestly. Sunday Cup is pretty easy like usual, just watch for the Megane. American Clubman Cup allows you to use some quite interesting cars but most of the AI will be so slow you don't need to worry about them, half of my field just sat behind the slowest car at half throttle the entire race so the Corvette C7 was the only one to beat. As long as you can do 350 km/h you should be fine. Time trial is almost a full lap, still easy too although the M3 does understeer quite a bit off throttle. WTC 600 can be a challenge depending on the grid, Kokubun will be super fast if he gets in the lead early. My race had me and him chasing down the Gallardo, the swapped Toyota Crown Athlete I used was a lot of fun and just about fast enough to do it. WTC 900 races are always good fun, this one can have a lot of rain but can also be completely dry like I had. If you use any of the 2016 Gr.2 cars or the 4 new Gr.1 cars you'll have no trouble. Went with the '16 Nissan GT-R without ABS and had a great time, they're are probably my favourite race cars in the game.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:
Tiny idea for improvement:

This part "with Bronze, Silver, and Gold paying 12,000cr, 18,000cr, and 30,000cr respectively" makes it sound to me (non native speaker) like you get one of them depending on what level you reach rather than the cumulative sum of the levels you have passed, eg 60k for gold.

On topic:

Is it correct that the new Gr. 1 Race at Watkins Glen haven't appeared in the weekly challenges so far? In the past they have always feature one new race (from the most recent update) every week until they are done with them.

Regarding the TT this week: does the '11 M3 turn like a tank or is it my inability that makes it oversteer like crazy? Still close gold on the first valid attempt but my word was it a bad one.

three comments on this week:

1) the big oval? seriously? tell you what, next time you think that is a good idea, pick a Tokyo layout and put some really slow cars on it so you and the rabbits have to lap them twice. That would be much more fun.

2) timing tightened up on time trial, this is not trivial gold like the last time

3) I suspected Suzuka was going to be wet but I got sunshine all the way

hope you had fun and didn't get a dupe on the 6 star like I did (at 411 unique cars there are a good number I don't yet have)

Yup it hasn't shown up yet. I still haven't raced it as I now always save the new races until they appear in the Weeklies.

European Sunday Cup 400: De Temaso Mangusta Christian Dior. Just thought it'd be funny.
American Clubman Cup 700: Chevy Corvette C6 ZR1. EZ (Especially with my Le Mans Gearing).
World Touring Car 600: BMW M2 Competition. At the 320 HP Cup spec, seems like a silly idea against the 4 Horseman of the Apocalypse...until you realize you can bully them for most of the lap. So I did that and cackled as Busnalli could not at all catch me on the final lap coming to the line.
World Touring Car 900: BMW M Hybrid V8. Another consecutive week of a Hypercar in the forth Weekly Challenge Race, quite the challenge but no rain until the last lap (Even then, not enough to even consider intermediates)
Special Event: Car sure seemed more difficult to drive then I last remembered. Took 4 tries to nail the gold.

It was an ok week.
For Brands Hatch I used one of my Twingos,399pp on CS. I forget who's tune I use but this car is always fun. Won by around 4 seconds.
Boring Route X saw my Vette CX Concept obliterate everyone by a mile. lol
Got a Silver in the TT and called it a day.
For Interlagos I used one of my modded Honda FL-5's on SS. Good racing and only took the lead halfway through the last lap. Won by a bit over a second.
WTC900 saw my Nissan GT500. No rain. Played catch-up after my pit for fuel. Won by around 5 seconds.
The ticket gave me the Honda Sports VGT which I already had two of so I sold it.
On to the PP races next.

July – Week 2
Hi everyone, here's my report for this week. This time I used:
Gamepad | Automatic transmission | Race Difficulty – Hard | TCS 1

#5 | World Touring Car 900 | Suzuka Circuit
F3500-A | PP 950 | RM tyres | FM 6>1 | 1 pit
I can't win a WTC900 race in any car other than Formula. So this time the F3500A was the best of all. It was a dry race with one pit stop and overtaking the leader on the last lap.

#4 | World Touring Car 600 | Autodromo de Interlagos
Nissan R32 GT-R V-spec II ‘94 | PP 600 | SS tyres | NOS
I used the good old R32 for this race and it didn't let me down. However, the advantage was small.

#3 | Time Trial | Deep Forest Raceway Reverse
BMW M3 GT ‘11
In my first attempt, I got a bronze and the result didn't improve much later, so I didn't continue.

#2 | American Clubman Cup 700 | Special Stage Route X
Chevrolet Corvette CX Concept ‘26 | PP 700 | SS tyres
I chose a Corvette CX, reduced the power to PP700 and won without any problems.

#1 European Sunday Cup 400 | Brands Hatch Indy Circuit
Mercedes 300 SL Coupe ‘54 | PP 400 | SS tyres
For some reason, classic cars are the most suitable for racing like this. This time, the Mercedes 300 SL turned out to be just right, although I won at the last corner.

The WTC900 race sucked the life out of me. I used the Ferrari 499P; that car and me do not mix. It was too twitchy and the high speed cornering... 130R left me yearning for a Group C car. The scream above 4th gear was the only thing saving the Ferrari. In general, the excitement for the hypercars has worn off for me.

And then the time trial...

I hate GT7's Gr.3 cars with a burning passion. Thanks to whatever PD has done to update the physics, the M3 GT now feels like the worst of them. Crazy understeer off throttle joins the annoying oversteer on throttle typical of this class.

I calmed down, got gold, then chipped away at my time. I think I grew as a driver during this. But Gr.3 cars in GT7 will always be hot garbage to me.

Edit: How many tries did it take me to do this? Yes. All of them.
