Me after looking at the Lancer Meeting and realizing I have an armada of WRC builds to choose from:

My picks for tonight. And yes, the same blue NSX from last week returns because once again PD gives us an annoying WTC 600 race and this time because the physics update and PP changes, its literally THE only car I can use as none of my previous sneaky builds are viable anymore because they now exceed the PP limit.

Did 4 out of 5 .
What i notice is :
You gonna need a bigger boat from suggest pp.

Dirt races becomes unplayable after the update at least with the controller for me .
First notice was made at the new CE at Barcelona that stop it half the lap .
And today continues at Evo meeting, the FRONT end is like Never touches the ground!!!!!
The slightest move and and you'll never go straight again trying to correct it , it's a continuous Zig Zag which is very annoying.
Just managed 3 place to what was very easy before .
I don't know if lowering steering response will help and how much but definitely Dirt isn't the same any more , next time I'll put difficulty to easy 🤣 .
It's a foul , offside , penalty and red card at once.

So I sat down tonight to try some of the new cars and grind out the 6-star (car) weekly update before it reset. I don’t know how I didn’t realize it until I’d done the other 4 weekly challenges, but when I got to WTC600, ouch. I only tried that race once in the past, was like WTF, googled it and was perfectly content to never come back to it. But there I was.

So I cheesed it with the cappuccino. Fittingly the 6-star ticket was a VGT I already had.

I can confirm this, dirt racing is completly broken, at least on a pad. It's more like the game is constantly trying to correct the steering when the car slides, despite all assists being turned off. The results is the car is zig zaging all the time even though I'm not touching the pad.
But the more I drive with this update the more I feel this is also impacting road racing just a lot less.

Also done in a controller. I do get the snappy zigzag thing, but like what I do with the wheel, I turn in early then neutral steer during the slide.

Not sure if that is fast, but I may repeat this once I get my wheel back.

(I use motion control steering function of the Dualsense Controller)

Tuned further to "Gr.B" specs without the engine swap. 525 HP / 2,407 lbs.

Lap time is close to that of the Gold target of the Circuit Experience on that track. Hmmmm....

An interesting experience, following the latest update.
Couldn’t do better than 2nd in the Sunday Cup (on hard difficulty) but won the rest with ease.
Adjusting various cars to new PP values revealed some really weird and large changes in PP, for only a 1 step increase in power/weight/downforce. I know the Performance Points system has never been perfect, but it seem to have more anomalies than ever, following the update.

A new week brings a new set of challenges, where we partake in a one-off Japanese FR event, hoon around in Lancer Evos, and chase a Xiaomi through the Green Hell. Let’s dive right in. Today’s theme will be classic cars. I will only use cars that are at least 30 years old.

Race 1 - Sunday Cup @ Sardegna C Reverse
We begin at Sardegna, where we have our usual Sunday Cup fun. I used the 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B, which is a tad expensive. I threw on comfort softs since the standard comfort medium tires were too difficult to win with. I had very good motivation to keep my clean race bonus. Unfortunately, a brake check from a Citroen BX caused my efforts to go to blank. Won by two seconds.

Race 2 - Euro Clubman Cup 600 @ Catalunya
One of the new events added in the 1.71 update is this race around the current layout of Catalunya, which dumps the final chicane in favor of the classic right-hand sweepers. For this one, I used a modified De Tomaso Mangusta with some hideous aero to keep it planted. I won by about ten seconds.

Race 3 - Japanese FR Challenge 550 @ Eiger
The Special Event for this week is a one-off edition of an existing series: the Japanese FR Challenge 550. We are at the Eiger Nordwand circuit for this six-lapper. I chose the Toyota 2000GT with its own ugly rear wing for stability. Caught up with the leaders by lap 5 and overtook for the win at the start of lap 6. A nice challenge for a car like that.

Race 4 - Evolution Meeting @ Colorado Springs
It’s been a minute since I raced around this dirt track. For this four-lap sideways showdown, I used the oldest Lancer Evo in the game: the Evo III. I tuned it to 530PP on dirt tires and won fairly easily. Granted, I did barge my way through a few opponents, but I didn’t really care.

Race 5 - WTC 600 @ Nordschleife
One of the most fearsome and dangerous race tracks on the planet: the Nürburgring Nordschleife. We return here for a two-lap WTC 600 race where we have to chase down what is essentially a yellow Chinese smartphone on wheels for victory. I used the Trans Am from a previous Tokyo 600 run, threw on sports soft tires, and dropped the power to get it back down to 600PP. I destroyed the Xiaomi once I passed it at the start of lap 2. Malaise-era muscle rules again.

With that done, it’s a nice 800,000 credits in the bank. Time to torture myself by throwing the GAC engine in a Ford Focus. Have a good weekend!

Fun events this week. Sunday Cup is a little harder than expected but it was nice to see a track layout I rarely drive. Clubman Cup thankfully doesn't have the chicane and I suspect the Caterham will be really fast if it can get in the lead early, for me it was quite easy as they were stuck behind a few cars. The special race at Eiger was fantastic and exactly what I like to see from special events. Early morning so it's almost dark and with a bunch of unique tuned 80s and 90s road cars made for a really fun event. Evolution Meeting is stupidly easy, even a stock Evo 5 was enough to win by over 10 seconds, not sure on the new dirt physics though. WTC 600 is a lot easier than I remember, not sure if the physics change was the reason or the 580 PP NSX I used was really fast. Won by over 20 seconds and was in the lead by the end of the first lap, rest of the AI were really far behind the SU7 too.

Cars for this week:
full

Sunday Cup: Peugeot 205 GTI. Easy peasy (Even with T7 being abit of a clench to pass through)
European Clubman Cup: Lamborghini Gallardo. My Superleggera build gets its first turn and passes with flying colors (Quite literally)
Evolution Meeting: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution XI. While I can't throw it as spectacularly as I could before, Still sent it.
World Touring Car 600: Honda NSX 2017. Drove with the red mist after many incidents. Once more: PD, don't make me do it again
Special Event: Mazda ɛ̃fini RX-7. Brought out the GT C LM Edition build for this and it was fun.

I must say, after this update, it was a disappointing week,IMO.
Sunday Cup: I used the same car as last week in that oval race, Honda Beat. Car felt weird after this update. Twitchy. Won by 4 seconds.
Euro Clubman in a stock Caterham was easy. Fun but twitchy car like it is in the TT. Won by around 7 seconds.
I must say the togue race at Eiger was the best this week. I'll revisit with others. Took my VIP'ed Chaser and won by a handful.
Colorado was BAD. A race I easily win and have fun in this same EVO III now felt like a chore. Car was bouncing all over the place. I even spun out but luckily got back on track quick. Won it but forgot the time gap as I was pretty disappointed.
Oh the WTC600. Another weird and disappointing race. I've won this before with this EVO V on RS. And as with the latest update, car was CRAP. Losing grip at weird places. I was lucky to not spin out. The grip was good at turns where I used to have to dab the brakes. Weirdly enough, I was able to gap the Chinese cell phone on wheels by 14 seconds entering the Dottinger. Won by 10 seconds.
Glad this week is over except for the PP.
